The food here is unreal! I can't believe how incredible everything tastes. We ordered the final meltdown, the pretty good burger and a kids meal with the grilled cheese. The ciabatta bread was so light and I've never had such a perfectly cooked egg in a sandwich. The meat alternative in the sandwich was soft and buttery sautéd mushrooms. The flavors were balanced yet somehow incredibly vibrant and made me want more. The burger tasted like a smash burger but with a bean patty. I thought it was great but I loved the meltdown. I needed some coffee for our road trip and was recommended the coconut coffee. The first sip shocked me so I immediately had to taste the kids lemonade. They were both unreal!! The coffee was once again subtle but so vibrant. And the lemonade! It was a yuzu lemonade but with an orange slice in it. They created something like a simple lemonade taste so complex! After we finished the food we had to order more so we ordered both the Meyer lemon ice cream and the churro. The ice cream was amazing! The lemon flavor came through and they perfectly balanced the sweetness and made me leave feeling that I could eat a gallon of it without feeling bad! And the churros! So soft in the middle and the raspberry jam was the most perfectly balanced jam I've ever tasted. We took the rest of the tiny jar home to put on our bread because I would not waste something that good. Coming from a guy who has been knocking vegetarian restaurants his whole life, I cannot wait to come here again on our next road trip. We ordered a lot of food and everything was delicious! I was thrilled they also had vegan soft serve :) so so good . The homemade burger patties were great and fit the bun perfect. I loved the location and seating outside. It's quintessential beach outside seating. I will definitely be coming back for more . I think you can order anything and be happy. The food here is always consistently delicious, and service is always prompt and friendly! From their breakfast sandwiches to burgers and fries, all of it is pretty satisfying and meat-free to boot. I'm not a vegetarian so it took a little convincing before I tried them out initially, but I'm so glad I did! Their prices are also pretty reasonable for our area, which is rare and much appreciated for good quality food. I can't speak on behalf of the eating area as I always take it to go, but It's definitely a regular go-to for quick take-out! After receiving a recommendation to try this place...and naively trusting the Yelp reviews, I ordered a meal from Pretty Good Advice. [Insert bad pun here.] I think it makes it worse because (a) it was for my family; and (b) it was a lot of food: five sandwiches (all types: spicy chicken sandwich, burgers, tofu scrambled sandwich), fries, and the vegan soft serve. Really wanted to love it, but everything but the soft serve was mediocre. From our group of vegans and omnivores, the general consensus is that the food was "meh." My mother, after getting about halfway through her cheeseburger, said, "If I was out in the middle of the forest, and I was really, really hungry, and someone gave me this, I'd be glad to have it." I'll let you make your mind up about the meaning of that. And it's not that I don't love the idea of this place. I love me some vegetarian fast food! BUT the execution was sadly just fair, and the easiest piece of this meal--in terms of preparation--would be the fries...the most disappointing of all. They were cold and had the texture that exposes the cardinal sin of having been prepared much earlier and then having been reheated: mealy and spongy. Terrible! Unfortunately we had several large orders of them, most of which ended up in the compost. So, although the workers were quite lovely, and they promptly fixed the sauce mishap that resulted in several containers of sauce melting and spilling out into the bag onto the food...the food was too bad to recommend this place to anyone. A very popular spot so parking can be tight. And if you see the line outside don't let it stop you. It goes so quick and you're not going to wait for your lemonade at all it's so delicious with the perfect freshness and flavor . So thirsty quenching on these warm afternoons . Lots of seating in the lovely garden area and food is prepared so quick. I had a black bean burger full of flavor so fresh and tasty. I also had a Fuji persimmon,yellow beet salad with fennel. So happy i found this place! My family and i came around 10am and we were the only ones there. They have their own parking lot right in front so parking is very easy. They take your order from the order window and the pick up window is right along the side. They will call out your name/order once its ready. They didn't have indoor seating available but they have a nice little outdoor patio in the back. We got the Final Meltdown, Pretty good cheeseburger w/ no cheese and a side of fries. Everything was delicious! We are not vegetarian or vegan and we loved it! The worker who took our order was okay, he could've been a little nicer and more welcoming but it's all good since the food was great! Covid Review: Sad I'm only now discovering this little gem! They're currently offering take out only (but there are some benches to sit at right outside) so they have a little window ordering system. After looking at the vegetarian/vegan only menu, I ended up going with 'The Good Morning' sandwich - crispy potato, fried egg, sweet pepper jam, and P.G. Aioli. So happy with my choice! The egg was perfectly cooked and not messy at all, and the sandwich itself was just so flavorful... They also have homemade hot sauce which was the perfect addition. Not bad prices either! I've been going here like 3x a week for years, & LOVE it! They are always friendly, they always get my order right, they change their sides with the seasons & grow some of their food in a nearby garden, & the food is tasty. You can sit outside (with your dog, too) in the sun, it's in an easy location to both find & park in, & their fries are soooo good. I also love their cheeseburger, fancy lemonades, fake chicken sando, & salads. We need more all vegetarian restaurants like this in Santa Cruz! read more

We were in SC on an extended stay, and my son had tried this place once, so he had a clear idea about what he wanted. I wanted an egg sandwich and left the choice to S. An $8 sandwich finished without much satisfaction and I found no egg. It was a hash brown with some form of vegan cheese in a bun. Of course the menu is organized more for effect than information, so it forced the bad choice. The coffee was good. The sandwiches? I tasted the others and they were largely unremarkable. I could go on a rant about how vegetarians (or quick vegetarians) need to forget about imitating burgers. In any case, this place shows you how NOT to do it. Well, I have mixed feelings about this place. I think their concept of "quick vegetarian" is cool, but they don't make it known clearly enough. I am a meat guy; I can do vegetarian from time to time, but I want to know ahead of time that is what I'm getting into. My case in point; I came here with my wife a few weeks ago and ordered a burger. I failed to read or notice that the patty wasn't meat until she and I got to our spot to have lunch; then I noticed the no-meat patty. I was actually pissed; not that it tasted bad or anything, but because I was still hungry afterward and felt misled. I also want to add that when this place first opened, the "rumor" was that it was a former Michelin restaurant crew, and that the food was high-end fast food. I hate to say it, but the food that they serve is basically bulk Costco products; frozen hash browns, bulk burger buns, pre-sliced cheese, etc...stuff I make at home on the cheap. All in all, it's a cool and sort-of trendy concept, but I really think they need to up their game. Make it clearly known that it's all vegetarian/no meat, and start serving food that pops. They'll have get my business back when that happens. read more
