I've been going to Myly on and off for years. She is by far the best in her line of business. My nails always look so natural and never, ever lift (as they have whenever I've gone anywhere else). She is also very professional and a pleasure to be around. Before my experience at Pretty Nails, I never got my nails done let alone knew anything about acrylic nail sets. I looked on yelp to find a good place to get my nails done just to try it out. I found Pretty Nails on this site and I tried it seeing that there were no less than 5 stars and standing beautiful reviews. I am so thankful that I get to be part of the reviews now. I had an amazing experience! Myly is very professional and she does the best nails I've ever seen. She made me feel welcome and there was never a hurry or awkward moment. It is just her so there is definitely a one on one experience you cannot get at other shops. Even though it is just her, she gets done in about half an hour and she doesn't miss a beat. I never am the one to write a yelp review ever but this is a must and I feel the need to really WARN others of this place!!!!!! This lady really tried to scam me!! I just want to put this out there I am also a LICENSED cosmetologist! I went into this apt as a new client I go in and wanted a full set with a gel polish.. she then told me that she didn't have any kind of gel and that she just had regular polish and that "gel polish for a full set in other salons is just an unnecessary expense because with acrylic nails the regular polish adheres to the nail with no chip anyways so the gel wasn't necessary for her salon." A VERY lengthy answer I remembered about gel so i just went with it and said ok and picked my regular nail polish for my full set.. I sit in her chair I kid you not she was done with my Nails in less than 20 minutes the shortest most bulky nails I've ever had I literally didn't want to complain because all together they just looked so bad I kinda just wanted to get out of there.. she then asked if I would pay before the polish and I asked how much and she said $45.... I said hahahah for what? I was thinking more like $25 or $30... it was a glued tip with acrylic VERY Minal filing and a non gel polish for $45 and still having to sit there to let me nails dry for $45 hahahahah! I go else where get worked on for 45 min and get a gel polish for $45 and no drying time!!!! She then began to tell me that I got gel POWDER and that's why the price was so expensive... guess what there's NO SUCH THING AS A GEL POWDER!!!! I have done a TON of research after my apt about it!!!! Also she never told me anything about using gel or consulted anything about that before!!!!! and talked about acrylic before my apt comparing it to why she doesn't use gel polish!!! So how TF was I suppose to assume that she DID use gel powder just not gel polish(even though there is no such thing as gel powder) I got so upset I paid for that that I called her back very upset and long story short after I called her out she said she would refund me $20 back to my card. STILL HAVE NOT GOT A REFUND!!! Soooo do NOT be fooled when you think you are getting "gel powder" from this lady she even had her label maker say gel powder.. it's a dip hybrid which is still acrylic with glue added not GEL!!!! Gel nails is GEL form never powder added with a liquid!!!! Soooo no wonder she doesn't have gel polish in her salon because she scams her customers and gets more money by saying she's using gel powder and it's "better" for your nails that's why it's more money but in reality it's just a different form or acrylic powder!!!!So when she charges you an arm and a leg for a 20min service please educate yourself!!!!! read more

Wow!!!! Just WOW!! This write up is about her ethics which she is lacking!! I've been going here for about a year as I was referred by people that she was speedy and good! Yes, she's speedy alright, but not so good?! Many times I've come in and done in 20 minutes, but what's lacking is the quality! The thickness on the sides I tried to oversee and take a file at, but this last time broke the camels back. After I left, I began to see after the polish dried, it was turning pink to purple on the edges. What she had done was build up the tips but didn't buff it out. The next day I came by and told her they needed more buffing. She made up some lame excuse that they were smudged??! I assured her that was not the case and she kept denying it? Really? You want to argue about it or just make a customer happy?! (You know Myly, ONE is not always perfect? Hate to burst your bubble?) So we scheduled it when we both had availability the next week. I came in to today and asked her which color it was? (Two looked very close) She was sure so I guessed? As she was finishing a woman she told me she will remove polish on the few or she'll have to charge me for a complete polish change? Really? Half needed done! Are you kidding me??? So I asked where I could buy that color and buff them myself and polish my own. She told me Rite Aid. I was ready to walk out, after I explained that the day she did mine she was hurrying with her husband and son and I felt my nails were overlooked. She said she'd do the complete buff and polish! After all this banter and not "Owning" her obvious mistake, I couldn't even look at her at this point! And yes, I stayed, so SHE HAD to do them!!! All for a two minute "make you Pretty Nails" polish?! And to top it off, under her breath she said it was a new different color? I asked you Myly, which one is it? I just need to say is I personally was a Manicurist serving over 80 customers for about 12 years, and I WOULD HAVE NEVER made my customer feel this way?! I would have apologized for my mistakes, whether or not, sucked it up and do whatever it took to make my customer happy and satisfied. She just lost me on a moral and ethical based decision! Myly, get over yourself... As far as you Crystal... seems to me you wouldn't know quality if it hit you in the face! You just "settle" because you're a friend. And calling people "idiots" shows your lack of integrity. You two are perfect for each other! I'm now going to Benicia Spa and Tan and my nails never looked better! Something Myly was incapable of was the high gloss and smoothness I get now. Trust me ladies, Fast doesn't mean Good! This I found out! This is actually my 3rd time coming here to get my nails done! So far so good! My nails would last for awhile with no lifts, no bubbles between fills. I didn't have the best of experiences here. My nails where normally done in under 20 minutes, and it felt so rushed. I usually left with painful globs of glue under my nails. I would constantly ask to have the edges rounded, and she would leave then straight and sharp. My nails broke often. She never used cuticle oil when doing my nails. She never shaped them properly. She also had a know it all attitude. I pay to get my nails done, I shouldn't have to to have to file them and remove debris from under my nails when I'd get home. I changed nail salons, and now I have none of the issues I had with Myly. I feel like I wasted so much energy trying to make it work with her. I'm so glad I moved on. read more

She does an ok job. I have gone there three times and while the first time it was pretty decent quality, the last two times I have had to redo either the color or filing at home because she seemed very rushed. Also had a few nicks each time from her less than gentle approach that I noticed the first time I use sanitizer afterwards. This last time I went she kept pressuring me for a metallic polish because it dries faster, but I did not like the color, so I ended up having to take it off when I got home and painting my own nails. Not what I expect from a higher priced service, but there are several other nail salons to go to that are just as good. The best advice I have is to try them all and find the one that best suits you. read more

I have been getting my nails done with Myly since 1999 and I would never go any where else. She is knows exactly how to take care of your nails. She works very hard to get you in without an appointment. Once you get to know here she becomes more than just your manicurist, you will love her. This is a great place to go for events, weddings or everyday nails. She can do nail art and now offers the crackle. I highly recommend them to everyone I know. I love Myly and Pretty Nails. Myly (the owner), is kind and gentle and funny and SO SO SO GOOD AT NAILS!! She's fast and thorough and always does exactly what I want. I have gel nails and they always look perfect and very natural. I've been going to Pretty Nails for almost 4 years and I'll never go anywhere else. I will not return. I asked for gel nail polish, I was told they do not do gel but they use a better product called gel powder. All it is is fat acrylic ugly nails. I'm pissed. I've stopped home to write this review and now looking to where I can go to get these ugly things removed. Being lied to is the worst. If she had simply said, no we don't offer that, instead of trying to sell me on something I did not want, whatever. I'm mad and I will not return. I have been going to Myly and Pretty Nails since she opened her shop (about 20 years). Myly's work quality is excellent. I always get a gel fill and a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. If you don't have state of the art equipment like most salons then it would be nice to have excellent technique and something unique and pampering about your services. I got such a basic pedicure and manicure. I came home and had to refile my nails and scrub the bottom of my heels because they are still rough. One of my fingernails was as smudged and rough. I had to reapply nail polish to smooth it out. My nails were not cleaned underneath the nail bed, the cuticles and skin was not clipped. I had asked her to do certain things and she said she already did it. She did not. There are routine things that should be done if you know what you're doing. I shouldn't have to ask. My cuticles need to be softened and pushed down. They look horrible now with polish painted over top today. Ugh! read more

Myly is the BEST!! I have been going somewhere else in Benicia for the last 6 months. Myly did my nails 10 years ago, then I stopped getting them done and moved. I ended up with a gift certificate to a salon for Mother's Day last year so when my wedding was approaching I spent a small fortune for my daughter's to all get their nails and toes done at the same place. I have endured long waits, interruption during my time getting my nails done for waxing and other walk-ins etc. Yesterday I went to get one nail fixed....it had been only two weeks since the last time I had them done. I was told to "come back tomorrow, we are busy". That was the last straw. I called Myly first thing this morning and she took care of me right away. I had been patient long enough and even then still tipped very well. So needless to say I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO THE OTHER SALON! I will stick with Myly for good! read more
