I have been a customer of Annie's for 20 years. I find it amazing that there ANY bad reviews on her business but, then again, I've seen these types of women that come in the shop with their demanding dispositions, expecting all their needs are met. Get over it ladies! I say ladies because the many men that come in leave very satisfied. They understand that [[HIGHLIGHT]]the women working at Annie's are the most respectful and kind. When I read these negative reviews it just burns me up. 20 years of "pampering" at Annie's has taught me that, with a negative review, you have to consider the "negative " person that wrote it. As for the quality of the service, well, I have SAVED$$$ by going to Annie's. The acrylic (and gel) applications provide very long lasting wear. I'm as rough on my nails as any other woman, constantly under water, using them as tools, etc. but where else can you go to get nails that last 4-6wks and still look great under those conditions! Called and Annie was able to fit me in right away on a Saturday afternoon. Her shop is tucked by Jiffy Lube on Columbus Parkway with plenty of parking in front. Spacious, clean, and quiet. Service was friendly, fast, and pricing is less expensive compared to most other nail salons I've recently been to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]i love going here everyone is very nice, but unfortunately I recently had a very bad experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went for gel manicure i have old acrylic on my nails that needed to be removed first, so to remove it the nail tech buffed the acrylic first with her tool until a thin film of acrylic was left. she was forcefully detaching the thin acrylic left on my nails- it was so forceful and i guess she was not being very careful, a portion of my nail detached! can you imagine!?? it bled and was painful. i was so horrified. i guess the acrylic damaged my nails making it so brittle but I was just shocked with what happened. Today was my first visit to Annie's I was using a gift certificate and had a manicure and pedicure nothing special no gel.The person that performed the service was friendly but the foot massage was lacking as was the hand massage. It was ok not good just ok. Once I gave her my gift card it became less then ok. She pretty much forgot about me once she was done painting my nails. No checking if my nails are dry nothing there was no one else after me ? I gave her a 18% tip maybe she wanted more I am not sure. The woman here are rude and non accommodating!! Lazy!!!! It would've been my first time here today and for future dates as needed - as my son attends the learning center next door. I walked in at 5:30p and asked if they take walk in's. One woman says yes. Ok, I would like a refill on my nails and a pedicure. They all look at each other, blank faced and talking to each other in their language. I stood there for about two minutes waiting for a response. I asked again so...yes or no? Can I be helped? There were 3 women working at this time and one says, "too late, come back tomorrow." ???? They close at 7pm! I said I can't tomorrow. Stunned and tearful was how I left Annie's on New Year's Eve. One bad apple ruined what had been a very positive experience. I am not a regular but my family's primary holiday is New Year's. I had a very good experience previously with Trina. I made an appointment this New Year's Eve. I called and confirmed the time of appointment and was happy after a very nice pedicure with Nicki. We had talked in depth about Hogmanay being an important holiday to people of Scottish decent. I shared all the festivities we had/were doing and how this mani/pedi was the only relaxing time I was going to have. I was looking forward to it. As I sat, I composed a loving note for my husband's New Year's Eve card. My point being that I was appreciative and positive when I began my visit. I explained to Nicki that I had worked all week getting ready for the Yacht Club Mascarade Ball and the only colors I was wearing were gold and black. Gold and black was stated repeatedly. Nick painted my little toe nails black with a top coat of clear with gold glitter. My big toe was a matte gold so that black nail art could be added. Everything was great until the other bossy, bossy unhelpful art person came over. I asked for gold and black only. She didn't like that, INSISTING that silver is the color for New Year's. I wasn't going for a rhinestone and chrome look. I had repeatedly said I was going to elegant ball with black and gold. My strapping shoes were gold so the black artwork would be a stunning contrast peeping through. She gave me a wheel of nail art that had nothing to do with my desire to be elegant on New Year's Eve. I asked her 3 different times if I could have a pen and paper, to draw a simple fire work design. Nope, she had no paper or pen anywhere. (They certainly had them when they ran my credit card though.). She was hostile to me and Nicki is trying to start my mani but since the other lady is so nasty, I can't relax comfortably to move onto hands. So I am forced to go online and find New Year's Eve nail art. I showed her several options. Some asymmetrical black lines on gold nail. Fire works, etc. I select the black and gold glitter color. Art Lady gets all upset because she doesn't want to use gold glitter on a gold nail. (I explained to use the black first and accent the black with gold later.). I am going for subtle elegance not disco balls and sequins. In foreign language she rants to Nicki and I can make out that it is about silver glitter being for New Year's Eve. My relaxing, "me time," was just hijacked. Crazy controlling, stubborn, person.... So she tells me in English that she will make a firecracker but better then what I am showing her on pininterest. Okay, fantastic!!! She uses the colors I asked for and I love them. Classy and the glitter is very subtle. I ask her to add a few dots of black to be the sparks falling from the firework. She is ranting in a foreign language again. Calls Annie over, I have no clue what she is saying to Annie??? Annie says something to Nicki and the next thing I know, Nicki wipes off all the nail's polish. Annie abruptly tells me that I can only ask for artwork on the 10 finger nails on the wheel and tells me that is because I was unhappy????? The only person unhappy with my gold and black look was the lady who insisted that I must use silver. I was completely shocked and stunned by that treatment. I started crying because my feelings were so frustrated that that lady lied to her boss about what was going on. Nicki painted the gold back on my big toes and I searched and searched for black glitter polish top coat. All they had was gold or silver. So I pick out a blackish glitter polish and ask Nicki to use it. Nicki shows me 2 other clear coats with silver or irredesent glitter. Not black or gold. I ask her to use the one I selected. Nicki paints a line of the black glittery polish. I say yes, that will work just paint the half of the toe with it. I like the contrast of the black and gold. Nicki grabs a cotton ball and removes the gold toe polish again. Holy crap! Why is it that every time I get what I asked for they wipe it off. That was it!!!!! Done, done, done, done. No manicure, left so incredibly disappointed that my only girl time left me so stressed. Thank goodness I didn't have my makeup on yet because I seriously cry tears when I am frustrated. I explained to Nicki I was doing my nails for New Year's Eve only. Why Annie's couldn't just let me have the black and gold I was asking for was very short sighted on their part. We don't do Christmas but do take care of people with year end tips. In a previous year with Trina at year end, I gave her a shockingly large holiday tip. Annie seemed preoccupied with the, "regular clients." I came home and used black glitter glue on my gold toe. My hope is that others do not experience the art person's bad attitude when asking for a themed event read more

I've been going to Annie's for almost a year now. The environment is always clean and pleasant, the ladies are attentive and kind, and the work speaks for itself! So far I always leave satisfied and happy with my nails. I've had both gel, acrylic, and it turns out beautiful each time. I also got a haircut last minute and it was exactly what I was hoping for. This review is for Juli Liu who does hair and facial waxing at Annie's. I started going to see her when she was at another salon. She is so good, I followed her here. My hair is supposed to be straight, but I end up with frizzy flyaway hair most days. Not when Juli comes to the rescue! She knows how to cut my coarser Asian hair and make it flattering to my round face shape. I've also had her wax my eyebrows and upper lip. She's gentle and meticulous. On top of this, she is very friendly and easy to talk to. There was a point when I was going through a breakup and talking to her helped comfort me. She cares about her clients. I live in Silicon Valley, but whenever I'm back "home" in Vallejo, I'm sure to call up Juli fix up my hair. read more

The seats massage and who doesn't love a good massage. For this particular visit, Nicky did my pedicure and Cindy did my manicure. Both awesome and they did an amazing job! Thanks ladies! I was a client of Annie's many years ago, so when I decided to get my nails done again, I went back to her. She does a great job with acrylics. My nails are super weak, so if I want them to look nice, acrylic is the way to go. Annie is fast and efficient, and I know from experience that my manicure will last for 2-3 weeks. So I went here randomly one day because I wanted to find a place to do my nails. I was literally driving there and called and they got me in right away, which is so great. I came in and they were SO FRIENDLY, I got Cindy for my gel manicure and she was absolutely lovely. Also, I work in a warehouse so my hands have been a little rough, but she cleaned up my nails really well and applied such a pretty orange sparkly gel color on. And let me tell ya, these babies do not BUDGE. I went back to work after a week and usually when I would do my own gel nails, they would chip off due to all the work I do on my hands and the gloves we use, but my hands look just as fantastic as when I first got them done. I was in the area, and I needed to get my nails fixed and since I was right there I decided to check them out. With an exception of my cuticles getting a little roughed up by the dremel, I could not say anything bad about Annie! I didn't have an appointment and I was seen pretty much right away, and it's usually not likely to happen that way. On top of that Annie didn't rush through either, she took her time and re-did my nails to perfection! Even though Annie's is a little bit farther than where I went before, I think I might return to her. I'm also looking to get my hair colored in the next couple of weeks and this place does this as well, and apparently well! We will find out! read more

This is honestly a hidden gem! I needed to fix two broken nails and decided to get a fill while I was it. Cindy did my nails and I have to say I was very happy with the result. She took her time and would go back and correct the shaping if it wasn't perfect without me having to tell her. I definitely appreciated that cause not many technicians do that. Went here with my Aunt (she's been going here for awhile now). Not sure of the name of the lady that did my pedicure (Annie was working on my Aunt) but she did a great job! I'm VERY ticklish and she was trying her best to make it as quick as possible -- but still get the job done on my heels! :) I will say that the pedicure took a bit longer than I'm used to, but I didn't care.
