I've come here before and went on September 21. I got just a regular manicure with a red color. I think the tech was on the newer side, but she did a nice job. There were some areas on the nail on the very edge that weren't fully covered with polish though. We made an appointment but we're glad we got to start earlier. Sad experience here. My girlfriend gave me a gift certificate and I went in for a French manicure. Some guy did it, but it didn't cover up the actual tips of my fingernails and within two days started chipping and falling off. Also, the salon itself is not very clean. nice location, but otherwise not much to recommend it. read more

My wife and I walked in on Valentine's Day at 1:00 and asked for pedicures. On behalf of us both I also politely requested females. They immediately accommodated our request. We were escorted to our chairs. We sat. That's when the purple haired bad attitude, who claimed to be Rachel, showed up at my feet. Without looking up she flung the menu up at my face for me to take from her hand. I was shocked but I obliged and retrieved it. I wasn't immediately sure if I was reading her wrong. I wasn't. She displayed bad attitude the whole time. When I tried to engage with polite conversation she responded with quick one word answers. I'm suspecting she heard my request for females and that set off her (already smoldering about something else) attitude. Nevertheless, I kept my cool and didn't call her out because I didn't want to spoil the day for my wife. Who btw also noticed the very bad attitude. Guess where we won't be going back to? read more

My pink and white gel dip nails look awful. I asked for the nails in the first photo. The other photos are what I got. I had to ask the young man to bring the white tips up higher and in the end they were slivers of white. He made my nails so thick they did not look natural! I asked him to file them thinner and he said I would loose the color. At that point I didn't care and told him that was fine we can just paint them and forget about the french. He barely filed them and painted them clear. He did not listen to anything I asked. Ive gotten pink and white gel dip done for 10+ years. I have never had such thick, uneven, blotchy, nails ever! I sometimes do my own pink and white gel dip and everything he used as an excuse was not true. You should not advertise you do pink and white gel dip if this is what you provide. read more

I chose to have my lashes done at Pretty Nails. I requested a modest lash extension - I did not want to look like I had caterpillars on my eyelids. However, maybe it was a language barrier, but she must have heard exactly the opposite: multiple lashes in one bunch, so long I had to trim them when I returned home, and finally, when most had come off, I wen to a different salon. She stated that much too much glue was used, and the residual took her a while to remove, questioning whether the salon used appropriate lash glue. At Pretty Nails I was charged $200, and of course, I did tip her. It was an absolute disaster. Do not go to the salon for eyelashes. Stick to their mani/pedi services. read more

The people in this salon simply do not care about their clients. The first time I went for my scheduled appointment, they told me I should wait 15 minutes which turned into 30. I left. Then a friend told me to try Lina, give it another chance. So I did. She showed up 20 minutes late. After giving her a 60% tip, we scheduled a pedicure a few days later. Once again, she didn't even show up. Another manicurist said " Wait for 15 minutes ( she was already 10 late) or anyone can give you a pedicure". I left. The absolute disrespect for the client and lack of pride in their work is shameful. read more

I've had my nails done here with Vivian and Henry (the owner) and they take care of my cuticles plus they take their time getting my gel manicure perfect. Please come and support their business as they truly care about their clients and their employees. Their service is top notch and anyone who disagrees just needs to kindly ask for corrections and they will go above and beyond. The owner states that there are new clients who mistreat his staff and then write poor reviews of his business that affect his rating on yelp. He wants to treat his clients and staff with respect and that's the service you get when you come here. The plus side is they are pet friendly here. If you bring your dog, respect the property so other clients can continue to have the privilege of bringing their fur babies to their appointments. read more

I went with my daughter. This was probably the worse fill and pedicure either of us have ever had. They insisted that we had to have our nails dipped when we both had gel polish. My fill was so rough around the outside of my nail that I had to ask 2 different technicians to smooth them out. He didn't put a smooth coat on my nails, they are bumpy and different colours! You can see exactly where he added the new fill!! My daughter's polish was blotchy, the polish was all over her cuticles. it took the lady almost 2 hours for just the manicure. I do not know how this place stays in business but I would not believe any good reviews! read more

Took my mom for a gel mani/pedi and sea scrub and they went ALL OUT! Best time is to go later on in the day when it's less busy. The first time I went I was yelled at by a rude technician. She said I had bad nails , started yelling at me. I complained to the owner. She is moody and after giving the salon another few tries she told me stop looking at the clock I was making her nervous. I had to be somewhere at a specific time. Updated: after a few less than spectacular experiences, I have to downgrade my review! When they are busy they really rush to get everyone in, but the service suffers. Now I will only go when I have an appointment. I highly recommend Kim for pedicures- she is wonderful and always thorough. If I were grading just her she would get 5 stars! Previously: They just did a remodel and the ambience is even nicer than before. I never have an appointment, so I can't recommend anyone specific, but I always have a good experience. This place rarely smells like a nail salon- the ceilings are high and the airflow is good. The service is professional and I swear my pedicures last forever! read more

This is one of the worst places I have ever been to, on top of being dirty, the place looks disgusting for a business on El Paseo. Their pedicure was absolutely awful, and they claimed to be able to do Gel X nails but did not even have the nail dehydrator to properly do it. When removing my previous gel x set, the nail tech absolutely destroyed my real nails beneath. This place is horrendous and overpriced for their inexperienced employees that run around like headless chickens in the salon. Horrible service. read more

Danny is THE BEST, and I will be coming back to him and dragging my husband along for the best massage I've ever had! Danny was very detailed and gentle during the pedicure I received. He was friendly and allowed me to relax and enjoy the massage chair (which is one of the best I've ever sat in). The pedicure was great but the massage was the BEST I've ever had. It has taken me some thoughts about reviewing my appointment this afternoon and I can say I was more than disappointed. I've been having my nails done for over 30 years - acrylic, gel and dipping and this is absolutely the worst job I ever been given. I'm not sure if the technician was still learning but why would this salon give me to a new customer to a newly trained technician. I am never going back. I went on a referral from a friend. I'm writing the only review of mail salons in years. I had Henry do my dip manicure and I think, Natalie did my pedicure. I have never experienced such detail and caring in any salon. This includes the very expensive Beverly Hills ones that I used, Before moving here. Henry is an artist and my French dip manicure looks so real. You would never know that it was done with the dip powder. My pedicure was fabulous. She took time to make sure that she got everything perfect and my massage was wonderful. Plus his massage chairs are not the standard ones that you normally get in most nail salons. This feels like you are actually getting a massage . This will be my go to place for as long as I live here in Palm Desert. read more

i'm not one to leave reviews, I have had my nails done here a few times in the last couple months, i've been getting acrylics for the last seven years so I know what to expect. This was my first time getting short acrylics, so I asked for guidance on shape but felt dismissed the whole time. we had settled on Square. she had laid the acrylic on very thick so there was no curvature to the nail, and the underneath was touching my skin. The nails were extremely bumpy, and the polish was not applied evenly at all and the shape was different on every nail. there's a lot of spots on the nails where the polish was so thick. You can just see the acrylic underneath. as well as gel polish around the nail on my skin. when doing my nails, all of the instruments looked like they had been used on several clients. The nail tech had to wipe off previous dust from the file and then apologize before doing my nails with it. It just felt very dirty. The nail salon itself is really beautiful and really nice, but the lack of clean instruments just made me feel yucky. I will add a photo of what my nails look like when I got them redone somewhere else to show you what they should look like in comparison. The white nails are from this salon. and the pink i got elsewhere. I just wanted to share this because if you're spending that much money to get your nails done, they should look better than if you were to just do them at home. read more

Worst experience I have ever had at nail salon. The woman who gave me a pedicure couldn't be bothered & didn't want to work. She barely got all the paint off my toes. When I asked her to please remove it all before re-painting them (gel), which is normal, she said, "it's the same color". I asked to pay for deluxe so that it was done right. She did the very bare minimum at cleaning/filing/trimming/massage. The woman next to her who was working started rolling her yes & was shooting me glares. This place is horrible.
