Worst experience I have ever had at nail salon. The woman who gave me a pedicure couldn't be bothered & didn't want to work. She barely got all the paint off my toes. When I asked her to please remove it all before re-painting them (gel), which is normal, she said, "it's the same color". I asked to pay for deluxe so that it was done right. She did the very bare minimum at cleaning/filing/trimming/massage. The woman next to her who was working started rolling her yes & was shooting me glares. This place is horrible. i'm not one to leave reviews, I have had my nails done here a few times in the last couple months, i've been getting acrylics for the last seven years so I know what to expect. This was my first time getting short acrylics, so I asked for guidance on shape but felt dismissed the whole time. we had settled on Square. she had laid the acrylic on very thick so there was no curvature to the nail, and the underneath was touching my skin. The nails were extremely bumpy, and the polish was not applied evenly at all and the shape was different on every nail. there's a lot of spots on the nails where the polish was so thick. You can just see the acrylic underneath. as well as gel polish around the nail on my skin. when doing my nails, all of the instruments looked like they had been used on several clients. The nail tech had to wipe off previous dust from the file and then apologize before doing my nails with it. It just felt very dirty. The nail salon itself is really beautiful and really nice, but the lack of clean instruments just made me feel yucky. I will add a photo of what my nails look like when I got them redone somewhere else to show you what they should look like in comparison. Worst mani pedi everrrrr! Don't get deceived by the "pretty" place, the service wass terrible. I had to ask for every detail to be done. Its like they had no clue! I first got my foot boiled as they didn't check the temperature of the water, and the girl found it funny! Next she barely spent a minute scrubbing my feet and when I asked to give me a better scrub she told me "you can do that at home"! What kind of rude attitude is that?! The staff is super friendly and accommodating...but my nail tech did not do a good job of listening any of the 3 times I asked for my nails to be shorter, and when I left I realized that they were all uneven and my cuticles looked like I did them myself. My pedicure was the same, nails not cut and despite my saying no callus remover, I got callus remover. Also, the overall atmosphere is chaotic, untidy and not relaxing...but the prices are great, and they work quickly and really try to get everyone in who needs service, appointment or not. Was meeting some friends at the AC3 Hotel & Bar and needed a few quick fixes with my acrylic extensions mani. Now I know why the reviews are SO low for this establishment. This is mostly a pedicure place NOT hands. Most of the people there are not trained to do acrylic nail extensions or how to put nail polish on properly. The husband and wife team are very nice people, but between the two of them most of the nail tech skills are with the husband. The hubbie had to run out to pick up their kids while he was in the middle of doing a fill on my extensions. The wife took over where he left off and because there were too many customers waiting, she rushed through my gel nail polish finish & top coat. This was a couple of weeks ago now but my nails haven't been the same since. Don't you dare go to this place for a proper mani...whether "fake" or "real". You will regret it. read more

I have been going to Yvonne for over 10 years. Every two weeks my gel nails always look beautiful. She also takes care of my ingrown toenail. I work at a hair salon down the street and refer all of my clients they are always happy also. I know some of the reviewers are unhappy, because they have felt rushed when they did not have an appointment. I found this nail salon two months ago and was so excited. I just moved here from Northern California and was in search of "my nail salon. " I have tried several different places and finally settled on pretty nails. I just left there and I'm shocked by how I was spoken to by the manager, who clearly does not have any managerial training and should be fired. He's basically an aggressive asshole who happens to be working at a nail salon. Awful! I asked if I could leave a tip on my card because I didn't have any cash and he started aggressively telling me why I should have cash and only pay tip in cash and why there's taxes related if I put the tip on the card. There are kind ways of giving me that information but yelling in my face and then complaining to the other people in the nail salon in Vietnamese about why the conversation he was having with me was so difficult. It was awful! This is no way to do business! Get this guy out of your salon and into a mechanic shop or somewhere where he can be aggressive and it's normal. Not at a spa! This man needs anger management. Luckily one of the female technicians stepped in and helped me get through the payment process in a calm manner. Not the place if you want a relaxing experience. Never never go to this salon. On the outside it looks perfect and professional but i have to tell you what happened to me. I want for powder dip fill. They had one of their employees (young girl) do my nails. She put my whole fingers in the acetone dish instead of cotton balls with acetone on my the nails. I told her I had Reynard disease and she got angry with me for asking her to do it that way (which is the only way I have ever had other salons do it) and violently pushed the tray away and walked off. I contemplated writing a review as I only like positive feedback. So I will start off saying, great location. However, worst pedicure ever and the manicure wasn't much better. We paid $45 instead of $30 and frankly it was no difference, I even left with rough heels, and they weren't bad at all before. The salon messed up the appointment, no communication, and overall not a great experience. I only hope it was a bad there, because the prices are good and the space is nice. read more

I use to go to Henry years ago and always liked him and decided to go back and try him again. I made an appt for a pedi and a clean up on my fills. First of all the girl who gave me a pedi was so PUSHY and damn near made me get her up sell of a pedi to $40 which I bought into! She was not good, rude, pushy and absolutely killed my toe by digging and today I'm still in pain! I normally do my own pedicures and just get a polish changed but decided to get a pedi this time! I was NOT impressed with the terrible quality! Henry barely did a mani I would say not a mani and barely filed my nails today I see a lot of ripples in my polish! So, it might be a good idea to work on your quality! Who cares if you are on El Paseo your workmanship is not quality and your prices are OVER PRICED! Needless to say I won't be returning nor will my girlfriend who got a pedi which she wasn't happy with either! The girl was pushing her up sell of goods to my friend but she didn't bite! I came here for a pedicure and I ended up getting a fungal infection on both of my large toenails. I'm from out of town and had to find an emergency podiatrist who had to remove both large toenails and put me on a 3x daily antibiotic for 2 weeks. The tools are not clean. I was referred to Lena and was very disappointed by my dip manicure but more importantly about how rude she was and the lack of cleanliness in the salon. She hardly spoke to me or made any eye contact with me. I asked for my nails to be shorter and she ignored that. She was mad about something as she slammed her cell phone down on the dirty table she was working from. She and another tech continually spoke in Vietnamese but she never acknowledged me as I tried to talk to her. As I looked around the salon, I saw it was dirty, needed a good cleaning. She told me it was $50 without so much as a bit of lotion on my hands or cuticles. I walked out very disappointed and without a single word from her or anyone else in the salon. The salon is really pretty & despite mediocre reviews I decided to try it and hope that it was just underrated. I made an appointment for a gel manicure and pedicure and arrived at the agreed time. The wait was short but it seemed like they weren't expecting me. The woman that did my nails was rude. I believe her name was Lau. I couldn't hear her speak at all except when she loudly pointed out that I may have a nail fungus. So embarrassing-- why did she find her voice for that! The service at this salon leaves a lot to be desired. The two manicurists sat side by side, both of them on the phone. Both of them had their phones on speaker. My manicurist was very distracted. I came in for a manicure and pedicure. I left after the manicure, not wanting to waste my time. I would not recommend this salon. read more

This was a horrible experience. I had an appointment at 2 and they didn't take me till 3. The guy running the show seemed very overwhelmed. My pedicure only lasted 15 minutes! She only put oil on my legs. She didn't scrub them or put lotion on my legs! So disappointing for coming in out of state and needing a pedicure. read more

I never write bad reviews but I owe it to the Yelp Community to let people know that there are many other nails salons near El Paseo so avoid this place! I had an appointment and let them know when i walked in and the woman barely acknowledged me but said i could sit and wait. I waited 15 minutes and then I overheard the daughter(or friend) of a women who was getting her nails done ask if she could get a manicure and they called someone from the back room to do her nails. I was perplexed and asked when was going to get my nails done and in a really rude tone told me she didn't have anyone but called someone to come in and told me "I would just have to wait". Needless to say, I wasn't going to give them my business. Getting my nails done should be a nice, relaxing experience not a frustrating and rude experience. The manicure was ok. People seemed friendly. But at the end they are asking me and kept insisting I pay in cash. It was very irritating to not be able to pay the manicure fee and tip on a credit card comfortably. I literally dropped the cash for them on the table and left. But it was very very frustrating and I don't recommend going here to be put in a situation where you are being pushed and pushed to pay in cash. The owner needs to respect people's method of payment or put a huge sign in the front "CASH ONLY"... and let people know that CASH is method of payment at this nail salon. read more

I was a walk in for a gel manicure and pedicure, and they took me immediately. It was terrible. The water for the pedicure was cold and the jets didn't work. Instead of doing the pedicure and then moving me to a manicure table, the person just did the manicure while I was still sitting in the pedicure chair. It was incredibly awkward and unprofessional. I could have dealt with that if they'd done a decent job, but FOUR days later it is peeling and bubbling up from the cuticle. They didn't even try to remove calluses on my feet, and my toenails were jagged and rough, which I didn't realize until I got home. Avoid this place. What a waste of money. read more

Then she cut my nails short and very uneven. The polish job was horrible, my cuticles were butchered and I paid $50 for this!! Went to this salon because I was shopping on el Paseo. I had my nails and toes done with gel polish and also had acrylics put on..And they look terrible. The nails are uneven , the polish is awful , the nail art is horrible and uneven looks like a child did it. My nails are thick too. And it was 108.00 dollars ! She charged me 45.00 for my toes and she only worked on them for 20 min and destroyed them and ruined the polish and got the polish all over my toe. And the polish is black so it stained my skin black . The guy that works there had to try and fix it but he too wasn't good. It really is not a good salon , terrible terrible nail art. Terrible nails period. Now I have to go pay someone else to fix the mess they made because my nails look embarrassing . read more

I love this salon ! Especially Henry and Lena' .. They are a married couple that are local that treat their clients like kings and queens ... I have been seeing them 9 wonderful years and they never rush to do perfection ! Any nails you show them or designs are their specialty !
