We had the Veal Chop and the Pork Chop (Specialty of the House). Both were outstanding. Had pasta on the side - also very good. Finished with Bread Pudding - from start to finish 5 stars. We had a really nice dinner at Prezza. Not your typical North End eatery, the dining room is spacious. We enjoyed friendly, efficient service along with delicious food. We dined on a Monday night, and were able to take advantage of their smaller plate offerings, perfect as we were traveling and did not want to have any leftovers to take home. The smaller sized portions (and price) were more than enough for us. If I see meatballs on the menu, I need to try. While they were tasty, I wished they were served a bit hotter, as our plate was just slightly warm. The cacio e pepe with truffles was delicious. Not the usual taste/presentation that I am used to, but delicious. It was a cold and wet evening so we decided to try dessert in house, even though we usually walk around to a cafe. There is something unique about strolling through the crowded streets of the North End, with so many strangers all eagerly awaiting a delicious meal...or stuffed and content after having just finished their meal. The vibe just seems to get everyone salivating with excitement. Prezza delivered and met our lofty expectations last night, as six of us enjoyed a lovely dinner. We were nearly drooling over our and each others entrees, and everyone enjoyed their respective dishes. The meat lover of the group, who ordered the Meatball, Sausage and Ribs, raved about the soft and flavorful meatballs and mix of meats with creamy polenta. And each bite of the rich gnocchi bolognese was a decadent treat, with hearty creamy mushroom flavor. On the lighter side, the seafood dishes were also fantastic, including the surprisingly filling fish stew. Though the flavors were mild, the variety of perfectly cooked fish was impressive, including 1/2 lobster, large chunks of swordfish, jumbo prawns, mussels, squid and clams. The wood fired charred bread was great with the broth...too much fish and not enough bread is a brilliant problem to have! I did manage to steal a bite of the tuna steak, which was also fantastic and looked beautiful over the fregola salad. This is such a terrific find! Really enjoyed the chill vibe here. Loved the modern decor! seats were super comfy...had the grilled asparagus, which was delicious. The service here is exceptional, especially when it comes to accommodating large parties. The bartenders are truly cocktail craftsman and they have an excellent selection of wines. I'm not a huge fan of squirting pasta, but there's is one. You should definitely try. They work around everyone's dietary restrictions, which is great for my group. Stumbled upon this restaurant on a Saturday night in Boston, we had no reservation but managed to get a seat due to a last minute cancellation This restaurant is nestled on one of the side streets in North End. The ambiance is nice - dimly lit and it was packed. We are vegetarian and there were not a lot of veg options at the menu but our waiter said he could accommodate custom orders. We got a primavera rigatoni pasta with red sauce and a butternut squash ravioli. Both were INCREDIBLE. My primavera pasta was so tasty - the sauce was beautifully seasoned with tons of garlic. The butternut squash ravioli was decadent, sweet and salty all at the same time. The rigatoni was perfectly al dente. Absolute treat to come here - will be back next time I'm in Boston. read more

Overpriced but anywhere that has not fried squid in the US is great. Large portion of tuna tartare without. A bunch of filler or sauce added. Hot and dirty martini was not good. It was neither hot nor dirty. The decor was fine, pretty minimalist. My husband started with the mozzarella and prosciutto, simple but flawless, perfectly seasoned with just the right balsamic, salt, and pepper. Prezza is a place that feels very much like somewhere you don't find but someone recommends. Just one street off the congested north end path it feels a little hidden. You step inside to a very sleek restaurant with a wonderful collection of different artistic pieces. I'd made a reservation the day before but even being a Monday they were filled. Our server, Nicholas, had that very Bostonian charm and definitely gave me a few laughs throughout my meal. He recommended a riesling and chardonnay for me and my friend that we really enjoyed. We had complimentary ciabatta bread with vinegar filled with olives which was good. We also got this unique shrimp dish with beautiful plating and a great crunch texture from the toppings wrapped around it. My favorite dish was definitely the corn raviolini. It's funny because it's what my friend ordered and I had hesitated getting it because I was sure about it. Another guest in the restaurant even commented on how delicious the dish was as they had ordered it as. The menu doesn't just have pasta but also seafood and meat so there's something for everyone. Best authentic Italian restaurant in the North End. (And I've lived there more than 20 years). Everything is homemade by the chef. It's a small, cozy atmosphere that's extremely warm and inviting. My favorite time of year there is the fall when there's butternut squash and wild boar ragù on the menu. But any time of year is great too. We live in California, but this is our number one go to place. We always bring people here, but are always return customers as well. The customer service is outstanding. Our reservation for seven was easily accommodated and a beautiful seat for our special reunion. All the employees were positive and happy. Paul, our server was over the top accommodating. Liz was our Barmaid/waitress. Very personable And efficient. Sat at bar on a Sat nite around 5 pm. Perfect time to get a seat ...we had reservations at 530 but rather sit at bar if possible. It's where all the action is along with a few TVs to watch the Sox game. Apps were meatballs in a very good marinara sauce along with mussels in a spicy marinara sauce laced with chorizo. Yum. The soft chunks of bread cane with and olive oil dip with actual green olives in it. I personally like butter. Entrees were a huge thick portion of chicken Parm on homemade pasta with a great marinara .... I got the shrimp Fra diavolo. Awesome over homemade pasta and a very good tasting marinara . Last night, went to Prezza for the first time. Was excited because I love its sister restaurants,Tonno Gloucester and Tonno Wakefield. Short walk from North Station and the Garden! Beautiful restaurant! The staff are superb! Polite and friendly and on point! We had the meatballs, tuna crudo, and crispy shrimp for appetizers. Fabulous! No pictures. We ate them too quickly. For dinner, we ordered crispy pork, tomahawk veal chop and tagliatelle Bolognese. So good! For desserts we had flourless chocolate cake and a special bread pudding in whiskey sauce! Great restaurant for a date or a chance to catch up. Tables are not on Top of each other and restaurant is quiet compared to other great North End spots! read more

Extremely disappointing dining experience. We came here hoping for good food for a nice date night on a Saturday night. First of all, the service was horrific. We were sat at a table up against a wall in the corner of the restaurant with barely enough room to move your arms without hitting the other table. The waiter didn't even attempt to make any suggestions (except to say that the short rib is his favorite appetizer, after we had already ordered). He said the bread would be coming out and we had to ask him again for it after our appetizers already arrived. For the food: Appetizers: Braised short rib - 5/5 Crispy shrimp - 2/5. Lacks flavor and is just crunchy Entrees Shrimp Fra diavolo. This one grew on me as I ate it. It started at a 2/5, but the flavor grew as I ate it. The shrimp and the pasta themselves were ok, but the sauce ended up being a 4/5 Meatballs - 2/5. Comes with a few meatballs, a random rib, and a piece of sausage. Overall very simple and not much flavor. We also did a half bottle of wine, which was fine, but definitely marked up more than normally would be at a restaurant of this quality. Overall, I definitely would not recommend coming here for a date night. The ambiance is definitely not good for that. If you are looking for an extremely overpriced meal with a group of people with mediocre food, this is your place. read more

Outstanding food in this North End restaurant. Started with the meatballs and the grilled clams. Excellent on both counts, I especially enjoyed the clams which was a large order of grilled clams with sausage in a tomato ragu. Don't sleep on the meatballs either, they were also excellent with good garlic flavor and perfect texture! For my entree I had the scallops which were about as close to perfect as I've ever had. They were served with chopped cauliflower over a silky smooth cauliflower puree. My gf had the gemelli pasta cacio e pepe. She loved her meal but I was a little surprised to see prosciutto and mushroom in a cacio e pepe. Not to nitpick but that was not an authentic cacio. Her son had the gnocchi bolognese. That was a spectacular dish! For dessert he had the canolli and cookie dessert, he loved it. The restaurant is super busy and loud but to me it adds to the vibe. The beef tartare was one of the better ones I've had. Our meal was so disappointing. The garlic bread was burnt. I can't believe they served it. We were hungry, so we ate around the burn on the other pieces. But, the whole basket was like that. The restaurant has valet across the street. So if you're driving a Ferrari or exotic car you can park it yourself. Now the gate closes after 12 AM. So going for a drink later you're going to be locked in there. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The prices a logical now a days. The appetizers are the best thing on the menu. But the main courses we got the branzino and spaghetti clams. Was not impressed or wowed. They state the make fresh pasta home made. Let me tell you how my spaghetti was. It was premade refrigerated and then boiled up for a few seconds to re heat and put on my plate. And it was all sticky together and not loose. The branzino did not seem fresh. Was not flaky and tasty. Most likely frozen and it was filet. Not whole. The expresso martini was not good at all, do not recommend. To sweet. Service though was excellent and extensive wine list. This is a great place to go after work and sit at the bar and grab appetizers. That's what I recommend. I will not be going back here. They get 3 stars and not 2. Because it was not that bad the food. But not what I expected a restaurant off Hanover street to be. Usually those ones in north end they blow your mind away with mom and grandmas in the kitchen. My girlfriend went to dinner with two friends to Prezza, on the recommendation of a friend. Since I wasn't there, she wanted to bring me back something. So she got an order of ravioli, which *did* specify that it was exactly one piece. OK, fine: some places do this, and it works. My girlfriend thought it would be quite a sizable piece, given that it cost eighteen dollars. Allow me to repeat this: the piece of ravioli was eighteen dollars. When I opened the container she brought back, I thought there had been a mix-up -- but, no. What I had before me was a sad, dun blob of a thing about half the size of my hand. I was going to throw it away out of spite, but I did bother to take a couple of bites, just to see if there was anything redeeming. It was, without exaggeration, the blandest piece of ravioli I've had in my life, tasting nothing more and nothing less like a grim chunk of wheat-meal with a bit of astringency. Oh, and the interior was a raw egg. How generous! I had thought that ~Fancy~ restaurants had outgrown pulling stunts like this, but Prezza shows that such pretentious practices are alive and well. read more
