Very nice indoo/outdoor food court and student area, including a book store. The outdoor portion is complete with a soothing waterfall and the indoor area has plenty of tables to eat at. It would be nice if they had better options as far as food, but at least you can enjoy the ambiance with your fast food court type food. read more

I came here for a lecture event with Author Time Wise. It was a great lecture and I learned so much! But I was definitely impressed with the center itself. The room where the lecture was held was in one of the ballrooms of the entire facility. The ballroom itself had a great set up. Upkeep is great, I think it's still new or newly renovated. The acoustics are great. You really don't need that much of a big time sound equipment to fill the room. HEY, maybe this would be a great place for a Yelp Event!?!? No?!?! Yes!??! YES!?!? I also noticed that next door to the ballroom and down the hall are rows of different eateries. Price Center is UCSD's food court. Sure it has other attractions, such as the Price Center Theater and the book store, but most students go to the Price Center buy the overpriced, unhealthy food. Price Center has a variety of bland fast food places, including Pizza Hut and (ugh) Panda Express. Although I like Rubio's, I just think it is shame that most students patronize the Price Center food court, but the eateries at Price Center stay open much later than the co-op or the Grove. read more

It's really hard to rate something everyone takes for granted. I was a student at UCSD from 2006-2010, so I was able to see a lot of the changes occurring right before my eyes as Price Center expanded to what it is now. UCSD dropped some major cash to expand the old PC, which was really just a food court and AS/SOLO. The major overhaul has tripled (if not quadrupled) the real estate space granting proper offices to many of UCSD's bureaucratic wings, opening up a handful of eateries that weren't on campus before (Bombay Coast, BK, Santorini, TapEx, etc.), housing a full-service (at least "fairly convenient") USPS, convenience store (Sunshine Market replacing the old Sunshine Store that was next to the Bookstore for so many years), and even opening up a Chase Banking Center. The other feat is the amount of seating available to those looking to eat in, study, or go on a computer station. This has quickly become the new late-night go-to since it is open late night and 24-hours during peak times (like finals). Am I happy with the expansion? Sure. Though the amount of money that came out of increased fees from 2007-2009 surely made the benefits a lot more sour. read more

Some tips would be download the BK app for killer deals at the Burger King, shop at sunshine market if you don't wanna pay the upscaled market prices(bad thing is they don't take D.D), overall despite it getting some hate, PC gets the job done, and at the same time has some very nice spots to study. Some places I would recommend to study are; the comfy yet firm couch benchs behind Seed & Sprout, the couch Infront of the Cross Cultural Center, and the couch Infront of the forum, next to the second floor entrance to the bookstore. read more

There are a variety of food here. The thing is that you get tired of it after having to eat here nearly everyday...other than that, a very decent place. The usual for me are burger king, tap-ex, panda express, rubios, and subway. The market is great as well. There are a variety of areas to hang around at the price center. Also, there is a chase and the atm for a few banks are just right outside price center. If you need to access a computer, there are a few here and they are capable of printing. One of the female workers was rude and didn't believe me when I pointed out a missing chicken sandwich in the order I received, saying she was sure she put 2 chicken sandwiches in my bag but that she'll give me another anyways. There was no apology for messing up my order or anything. Then when i opened my order from the package, I found that the order was in fact someone else's (someone who ordered the chicken sandwich without lettuce and mayonnaise). Depending on where you sit, the outlets and wifi can be spotty but the food options, 24 hour availability, venues for events such as concerts and org meetings, PC computers available for students, printers, and central placement on campus make it a fun study spot. My check-ins are usually me going to the Sunshine Store to get a snack for lunch. The staff in here are not the friendliest and I would get more personality from scan-it-yourself kiosk. Yet, they do have interesting little snacks for a reasonable price. That is the only reason they get 3 stars from me. I'd rate this a 2.5, but am forced to round down due to the downhill progress (aka the new PC East expansion). Four years ago, Price Center was a quaint little establishment with Panda Express, Wendy's, Rubio's, Subway, Shogun, a student coop, and Cafe Roma. Quite a delightful assortment of food items. No overbalance. Good variety. Not lacking in any food category. Fast forward three years, and despite the "awesome" expansion, this place has gotten pretty crappy. The Wendy's is gone, and has been replaced with Tacone (which I honestly cannot distinguish from the new Santorini Grill) and a poorly designed walk way to price center east. Rumor has it that the hall way was improperly designed (or maybe there was a support column in the way that was too costly to renovate around or something) so that it narrows down to a space that is adequate for two people to walk abreast. For an allegedly main thoroughfare, this is particularly inadequate. The design as a whole has a very industrial feel to it, with exposed ducts and piping. This initially was intriguing, but on closer inspection it is evident that the design was used in order to minimize costs. Everything looks half finished and exposed. Also the effin Loft. I hate that place. It was initially marketed as an on campus night club, but has been transformed into La Jolla's premier indie/hipster/bandyouveneverheardaboutbutIhave establishment. Think corporate sellout version of a legitimate venue. Bands that play belong to a very niche group of indie, electro-dance hipster stuff, world music, and various lgbt events. They also host events for rich people. It is unaccessible to probably 85% of the campus. Asian people probably love this place because of Yogurt World and Tapioca Express, which is fittingly appropriate for UCSD's campus. read more
