So, my gas boiler stopped heating 2 days after Christmas. I called Pride because they had some good referrals and I thought I'd give them a shot. The person on the phone was professional and Jeremy showed up right in the window quoted. He checked a few things, tried a few things, called his boss to bounce solutions off him. He ended up replacing an electrical panel that may have had a short of some sort. He coincidentally had the part on the truck. He was great. I got a discount for being a first time customer and a break on the trip fee. I felt really good about the price paid for getting it fixed. I would have never thought to replace this panel myself. Called at 2:52pm because heating on second floor wasn't working in the house we rent and I didn't want to bother the landlord. Was given a time estimate of 4 to 6pm. After calling several different HVAC specialists and general construction companies, Pride Mechanical was the only one capable of getting the job done for me. We had our sheet metal duct shield replaced. Many well-known organizations in the area simply neglected to return my call or never followed up as promised. In fact, many insinuated that sheet metal work was too much work for them, and one even hung up when I told him what I needed done. From beginning to end, this was an amazing experience with Pride Mechanical. I emailed them through their website, hoping someone would respond. Within a few hours, Nancy responded. I sent her pictures of the work I needed done, and we quickly agreed on a price and date for the work to be completed. We were scheduled on Monday, but had to reschedule to Wednesday because of rain. They were scheduled at 9 AM and actually got there early. Steve and Travis did the work expertly and were very friendly as well as informative. They set the bar very high. After being told last week that there was nothing catastrophically wrong with our 12 year old system, but we recommend you replace it, we decided to get a second opinion. Scheduled an appointment last week for service to check out system, technician Jeremy arrived around 3pm (in the allotted window) and was very eager to find out what the problem was. He asked what appeared to be the problem, and listened to what I was experiencing. Upon taking in what information I had given him, he said he thought he knew what might be the problem, sounded like the compressor was not kicking in. Upon opening up the unit, he noticed the capacitor was bad. Jeremy had one on the truck and installed the new capacitor, did a freon check and was on his way. Our system is approximately 40 years old and was expecting to have to replace the whole unit, thanks to Jeremy we do not have to tackle that feat yet. Also, he had some ideas on duct work and unit replacement if we need to accomplish at a later date. When the time comes for duct work and unit replacement, Pride Mechanical will accomplish the work. Companies have a claim to make you be a part of the family; then you get your bill and see you paid for that family treatment. That is NOT the case with Pride Mechanical. Researched a few companies and ended up landing on Pride Mechanical. The phone rang twice before I got an answer. I was scheduled for the next day for an appointment with Steve, the owner of the company. He showed up right on time, was very friendly, and was more than willing to explain everything he was doing as it was being done. He found the problem within minutes of inspecting my HVAC and even found a few issues that I was unaware of. The repair took all of about an hour and he was done. He covered everything he had fixed on the bill and I had no feelings like I was being scammed or price gouged in any way. The outdoor A/C condenser in my newly purchased home was filled with all manner of debris from the multiple trees in the yard. I called for a routine service to clear the debris and to ensure everything was in working order. My call was answered immediately, and was able to secure a same day appt. While I was waiting for the technician, I had the brilliant idea to install a Nest thermostat on my own. Needless to say, I touched the red and blue wires and blew the fuse located inside the furnace. Now in desperate need of an expert, Travis arrived promptly certain he could remedy any issue. True to his word, within five minutes he located and replaced the blown fuse which fixed the Nest. He spent the next 90 minutes conducting the most comprehensive inspection and detailed cleaning of an HVAC system I have ever witnessed! Awesome Awesome!!! Hired to do HVAC inspection after a home inspection was done on a house we are currently in the process of closing on. Wonderful guys!! Wore booties without question. Found the problem, serviced the system tested necessary things and also even troubleshot a fan in the attic. They were reasonably priced and gave me a quote for a drip pan they recommended but didn't push. The HVAC system is from 2003 and prolly any other company would have gave me quotes without me asking saying you need to replace but they didn't. Nice easy going guys and I had to ask which I liked. I don't need someone trying to sell me something and they didn't. Very professional and honest! Lady I spoke with was super helpful, knowledgeable and gave me a bundle price for what I wanted! In a nutshell: above and beyond customer service, fair pricing especially for the quality of work you will receive, family run, and an experience which left me with peace of mind. The story: I originally called looking for a free quote for a new HVAC unit. Travis came by two hours after I called- super quick response time! I told him we were replacing our HVAC because another company gave me a diagnostic a day prior and said the motor fan was broken. They shut off my heat (which had been spotty anyway). Travis offered to look at my old unit for free. He cleaned off two small parts related to the "broken" motor fan and was able to explain to me that the fan wasn't broken, but was going out. He also looked underneath the hood (which the guy I paid $89 from the other company to give me a diagnostic report didn't do) and was able to explain to me that my unit also had rust in it (bad sign). Seeing as it was 16 years old and was beginning to rust, it wasn't really worth it to replace the motor fan (which was basically the conclusion I came to before hand). However, Travis gave me the peace of mind that I was making the right decision in replacing it because he did a much more thorough diagnostic (which he didn't have to do in the first place) and explained in clear but simple terms what was going on and what it meant for me. In cleaning the two small parts related to the fan, my unit turned back on and gave me heat for the next week before they were able to come replace the unit! Had he not taken a look and done that small trouble shooting step of cleaning those parts, I would have been without heat for a week before the unit could be replaced. (Which is what would have happened if I went with the first company that diagnosed my unit.) I went with Pride to replace the unit because they proved to me that their work is thorough and excellent. They truly take pride (no pun intended) in the work they do! Travis, his dad, and cousin came out to install the new HVAC and worked hard and in a timely manner to get it done. Excellent! Our heat was out it was 11 degrees, I was looking for a smaller co. I found Pride & called them, about 2 hours later, I had heat at a very reasonable price. The owners Steve & Nancy run the business, when you call Nancy answers the phone & Steve comes to your house! They're both really nice people! I was concerned because I have animals & twice I had a larger co. out & not only did they overcharge they were rude about my animals, Steve & Nancy have animals so, they understand! I had originally contacted Pride Mechanical to confirm that I my AC Compressor had gone out. Steve was at my door less than an hour later. He was super friendly and explained everything he was doing and didnt mind me watching to learn a little bit. Ive also got a huge 145lb Bernese Mountain Dog that was very curious about Steve, needless to say my dog had a new best friend and Steve didnt mind at all. Anyways, I needed to replace my compressor. Steve helped me weigh the options of just the compressor or the entire system. I went ahead and scheduled them to replaced the whole system. On the day they were to come do the work, the appointment time was at 9am. At 855am I saw Travis pull up to my house and was at my door a couple minutes later! The fact they were on time really impressed me. Travis came in, and my dog had yet another best friend. Travis was super nice and friendly as well and got to work immediately before Steve got there. They did the job and left just shortly after 5pm. They showed me everything they installed and replaced to include my ECO BEE thermostat I wanted installed instead of the one that came with the unit. They also made sure everywhere was cleaned up and also elevated my unit off the ground an addition few inches just in case of flooding. They really go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy. If I ever had to have any HVAC work done they are the only people I will ever have come out or recommend to anybody!! read more
