What I enjoy the most about Prie is their use of unique varietals for some of their wines. It's fun and interesting to try wines made from grapes that you may not be familiar with. They have a small but very nice tasting room and a pretty outdoor area to enjoy their wines. Recommend you give them a try. read more

We went there yesterday because I was intrigued by the wines I saw on the website. We were greeted and shown to the tasting room. I'm a wine geek and love learning about how wines are produced, and they did not disappoint! I love that the wines are produced as close to the grape as possible, so the ones we tried were very fruit forward while still complex. I would have loved to taste more, but I understand it may not be possible at small batch wineries. They did a great job explaining a few of the other wines, so we left with a couple bottles that we are excited to try. Also left with a dozen fresh eggs! Great service, great wine! read more

We loved our visit here. All the wines were superb- but we fell in love with the zin. It's Lodi, right? You have to fall in love with a zin. We also really liked the white wine with the funny name- starts with a V I think. It was an unusual grape I had not heard of and it was delicious! Not only is the wine fabulous, but the grounds are lovely. Lots of great, relaxing seating options here. And it's beautiful. I was also pleased to find 3 varieties of wine jelly! Which I absolutely love. Go here- it's just a half block down from Klinker Brick- and it's definitely worth the stop. You'll be glad you tried this place. We've visited a few times - usually after picking up club shipments from Klinker Brick right down the road - and finally joined the wine club this past weekend. Really good wine, laid back atmosphere, and they often have a few less common varietals on the tasting menu. The owners are great and we love that it's dog-friendly. There is a small indoor tasting room (not currently in use due to COVID-19), but there are also covered and uncovered outdoor areas where tables are well spaced out to accommodate social distancing. They also have a great selection of cheeses right now, including my personal favorite: Cowgirl Creamery's Mt. Tam. Highly recommend! read more

My partner and I really enjoyed our visit here, and our waitress was really good about checking their food products for allergens (with safe alternatives!). It was a little chilly, and they provided us with blankets to stay warm, which I thought was really cool. For my 30th birthday we decided to visit Prie winery. I spoke with Lisa about just wanting an area where 25 people could hangout, bring outside food and drink wine. I told her that we didn't have to do tastings, if that was too hard and just buy bottles or glasses of wine. Everything was set and she said they had some tables we could use for the food setup! Upon arrival, we were greeted and told we could pick the covered or uncovered area. I was told there would be tables and chairs but when trying to set up, we're told we aren't allowed to move tables too close. They provided tables for the food that we were told about. They started the tastings but were so disorganized and said they would wait for everyone, but then just poured the first one. Through the day I continued to make sure we were being as easy as possible on them, thanking them and saying I hope we aren't too much trouble. Both times I got passive remarks from the owner that took me back. I was asked if we were going to any other wineries and told them that I just committed to them, but if we needed to get out at any point to let us know. They didn't seem too concerned. As we began to wrap up our 4 hour visit we started to figure out payment. Two friends left early and paid for their bottle of wine and two tastings. After, the owner went around and had everyone pay or the bottles they bought but not the tastings. I was then and there informed that "because you are a large party, we don't waive the tasting fee because of the dedicated staff you had." This was never told to me prior and most of the time we were there they had no other costumers. So the tastings were then put on a separate transaction, which my fiancé paid for to make it easier. When he checked his statement he was charged for 25 people. We had a total of 23 people, 3 didn't taste and then he charged us for the 2 people that had already paid for their tasting. Overall, there was miscommunication. When calling and speaking on the phone about my issues I was told that I didn't communicate what I was wanting and that this would have been considered and event, which I should have been charged an event fee. She proceeded to say that the charge for 25 tasting was basically them covering that fee because it should have been an "event." I don't think this is right, how you get to choose to just charge us because you feel wronged. There was no pulling me aside to talk to me about the day and the miscommunication. I would have more then happy to abide by any rules needed. Any ounce of transparency would have been nice. I was offered a refund for the 2 tastings that were double charged but don't want it. I want you to know that you need to be upfront with your expectations before you blame a guest that was kind, helpful and gave you business. read more

My husband and I were really having a hard time after saying goodbye to his Mom today. But we decided to go to spend time with our amazing friends at Prie winery because our favorite band was play there. Well what a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! They wouldn't let our friend come sit with us...even though her husband plays in the band and she was by herself. Then they kicked our best friends out the we invited because they spoke their mind about how disappointing the whole experience was....just WOW! Lodi never ceases to amaze me. This region now has a new contender with Prie Winery. The small, but gorgeous tasting room is located near Klinker Brick on Alpine near Harney Lane. This winery has a unique combination of both Lodi and Livermore appellations that can stand up to the intense summer heat. The tasting room is small with limited bar and seating, which is a challenge when the weather is bad. There is a large outdoor patio with bocce to help overflow. The menu is an eclectic 5-for-5 with some Zin options. They are working on some blends which can make for some interesting combinations. I really like the mouth feel and nose of these wines which shows a good attention to detail. It is fun to try new things, especially when drinking wine. Sometimes this involves visiting new places like Prie. If you are in the area, check them out. read more

A small, family-owned winery in Lodi wine country with a pleasant tasting room and plenty of patio seating. Our host was very hospitable and did a great job of engaging all of us despite having multiple parties and a maxed out tasting bar. That being said, the wines were very underwhelming across the board and just not well-suited for my palate. For instance, the Cabernet Sauvignon was awfully light and lacking any depth while the Petit Verdot was largely devoid of any flavor and one of the few wines I'd ever describe as "sterile". My friends seemed to enjoy them quite a bit though, so it's perhaps worth at least a quick stop especially given the reasonable $5 tasting fee. read more

Host was excellent; based on the passion witch he described the wine,s attributes I'll dare to assume that he's the owner. All wines we tasted were good and once he learned a little about my taste and preferences he gave me wines more suited and enjoyable (for me). I wanted to try the Library Cab. Because it's produced in very small quantities I couldn't taste it there (totally understandable and reasonable). Because I really enjoyed some of the wines they recommended I walked away with six bottles including 2 bottles of the cab. Opened a bottle last night for dinner and it's excellent. They have a petit Verdot but the owner would not open a bottle because they weren't tasting it! If you want the business you will provide product that your followers want! This is my favorite winery in the Lodi area. They have a large selection of delicious wine so everybody in your party will find something to enjoy. I especially enjoy their rosé and I'm not normally a rose drinker. It's a relaxed environment with a very friendly staff. Also love the music nights they have at the winery. This place was awesome. My wife and I saw it on the way to Klinker-Brick and after that poor experience we thought we would stop in. It was only us in the tasting room so we got a very intimate experience. The merlot was amazing. The vintner had it locked away in oak since 2011. Currently, I'm in love with the Petit Verdot, and I have several friends hooked on the Zin - which they describe as "so smooth." The tasting room has a gorgeous bar top and paintings adorn the walls. This is by far one of me and my husband's favorite wineries in Lodi. Not only because of their spectacular wines but they also treat you like family. We visited the winery this past weekend to hopefully pick up some wine for Thanksgiving. We ended up buying a few bottles because we loved the way they tasted. Then through the chaos of prepping Thanksgiving, one of the bottles broke on the floor so I decided to go back and grab it again because it was going with one of the dishes for Thanksgiving. I looked on the website and it said they were closed. However I called them just to make sure and one of the owners agreed to meet me at the winery and open up that night just so I could grab a couple bottles for Thanksgiving.
