Little things would've made this a better experience: 1) The "heirloom tomato" in their Heirloom Salad was clearly NOT an heirloom tomato. If they were out or heirloom tomatoes, they should've just said so instead of letting people order it unaware. 2) The Lobster Mac & Cheese had very little actual lobster in it. And I mean even factoring in the pandemic drama of seafood prices, this was sad. If it doesn't make sense to offer this item right now due to costs, then take it off the menu. 3) Dining companion had to send their steak back TWICE and it still wasn't cooked correctly. This person never sends their food back - ever. But the first steak was over cooked to the point of being inedible and the second was so rare that even I wouldn't have eaten it and I get my steak blue. Tried out this place for our anniversary dinner. It was an excellent dinner I will say. We tried the table bread which was the most uneventful part of the meal. The iceberg and house salads were good quality and decent portions. The ranch dressing was delicious. For the main, we had the filet and New York strip. Delicious cuts that were cooked to perfection! We tried the twice baked potato and the jalapeño au gratin. The twice baked was delicious with a good amount of toppings. The au gratin was ok but nothing exciting. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good steak downtown. read more

If I come back to Indy, I'd stop here again. Our waitor was helpful and checked on us frequently. After ordering, you're brought delicous crusty bread to snack on. We both ordered the filet. Cooked perfectly and deliciously tender. If you like brussel sprouts, you have to try them here. They are cooked with bacon and Kung Pao. I couldn't stop eating them! The peppercorn gravy is my favorite add-on and theirs did not dissapoint. I would recommend getting a window table or one in thier loft upstairs for a neat view. read more

Tonight I took my girlfriend to Prime for a suprise birthday dinner and as usual Prime delivered a wonderful experience from the food to the service. Chris (known as CO) is the absolute best in class when it comes to service. From suggestions to wonderful humor hes the total package. We started with lamb lollipops and table bread and ended up two excellent cuts of steak 1 NY Strip and 1 12OZ filet with a handful of sides. To die for. Not to mention the half baked cookie CO ordered for us as a gesture of appreciation that we celebrated with them tonight. 10/10 5 stars no words can describe the experience and service. Amazing service, not so amazing food. I ordered a filet cooked medium and a baked potato. The steak was overcooked and a bit hard..only ate half of it. I took the baked potato to go and...turns out it was raw. I went to eat it the next day and it was rock hard, couldn't even put a fork into it even after heating it up. We came here to celebrate a special occasion...and we should have gone somewhere else. After being seated it was about 10 minutes until our waitress came for our drink order - then it was another 10 minutes before we got them. So then we ordered. And when we asked for bread she told us it would come out with our soup/salads - which took another 20 minutes! And right when she literally brought us the soup, salad, and bread (that was cold and very dry, obviously not fresh at all) within 5 minutes she brought out the main entrees. We hadn't even gotten through half our salad or even began the soup. She didn't apologize or ask to put things in the oven to keep it warm - she literally put it on the table, said, "Good?" and walked away. We didn't even have a chance to make that request! The salad was the best thing they served us, and that really says something. I got the Prime Chicken and it was so unbelievably salty I couldn't even finish it. (By now everything was cold, anyways.) My boyfriend got the Steak and Scallops and cold beef/seafood is definitely not appealing... The whole time we were outside and the sun umbrella kept shaking and leaning, acting like it was broken and going to fall right on top of our heads, lol. We really debated about asking to move because the waitress was MIA and we thought it would just peeve her off since she was acting like we were already bothering her so much by showing up and ordering food, like, at a restaurant. I went here during Valentine's Day weekend and I was pretty blown away by this place. They had a Valentine's Day special, we didn't eat that but it was definitely a good deal! An appetizer or soup/salad, 2 entrees and a dessert for $130. For my meal I had: - Cesar salad, it was pretty good. Too much dressing for my liking, and I wish there were more croutons. But overall pretty good. - Ribeye cooked medium, so delicious! I'm not huge on steak but I had to get a steak here. It was $55, which isn't terrible compared to the rest of the steaks. -Truffle mashed potatoes and creamed corn, the creamed corn was decent. But the truffle mashed potatoes were heavenly, definitely the highlight of the meal for me. -Oreo cake, this was pretty good. Also the desserts were all fairly priced! This was only $9. -I also had a cocktail, the prickly pear. I absolutely loved it! Honestly one of the best cocktails I ever had. While this is a steakhouse - they have great options for vegetarians too! The cheese tortellini is the BEST pasta I've ever had. My dinner date enjoy the steak and lobster with a french onion soup starter. My field greens salad was delicious - the perfect combination of fresh greens, juicy berries, crunchy nuts and creamy cheese. If you get the bread basket (and you should!) be sure to ask for regular better too. Their cinnamon butter is delicious and tastes more like icing than butter. The wine list is impressive - some great buys too for not a crazy amount of money. Oh, and their whiskey list - I could have sipped all night! They are known for their chocolate chip cookie - which is fantastic! I prefer the bread pudding! Either get both or come back another time. Shout out to server A.T.! 5 Star Food - Barely 3 Star Service I visited Prime 47 this past Saturday with some friends who were visiting from out of town. I have been here before for a Yelp event and was excited to return but I was highly disappointed. I know Prime 47 is not a quick food experience but at the same time it shouldn't have taken 35 minutes for our waiter to ask us for our drink order. Then one of the drinks was not provided so I had to remind the waiter. When we finally were able to order our food (maybe 20-25 minutes later) we were informed that because the kitchen was switching to the late dinner menu there would be a delay with our food. While waiting for our food, the waiter walked by another friend's empty soda glass about 3 times so he ended up going to the bar to get his drink refilled. Besides the sub par service, the food was great. I was so annoyed and hungry the only picture of food I was able to take was a picture of the bread. Otherwise, you would have seen a great pic of the the filet mignon and truffle mashed potatoes. Since, the sides were served family style I also got to try the brussel sprouts (so yummy) and the creamed corn. I couldn't try the mac and cheese with lobster (allergic) but my friends said it was good. The service overshadowed the whole dining experience because by the time we actually got our food over an hour had passed. I had expected with the price of the entrees to receive better service but that was not the case. Since our tip was already included in the bill we could not adjust the tip to the level of service we received. i understand that it is hard to work in food service but my goodness. The restaurant did not seem that busy for us to have to wait so long for our meals. If it wasn't for the service Prime 47 would have gotten five stars. read more

I would come back. Myself and my dinner companion came to Prime 47 to celebrate several life events and we ate really well. The lamb lollipops were well seasoned and flavorful. There was nothing left on the plate. We admittedly we did not listen to our waiter when he advised to only get 1-2 sides. I am a sucker for fries and seeing the mountain of fries that came to the table next to us we needed them. The asparagus was good nothing earth shattering we more so decided we need a vegetable. I was underwhelmed by the lobster Mac and cheese for the simple fact there was not a lot of lobster and it was not very flavorful. The steaks on the other hand were . I have waited almost 24 hours before I drafted this review in an effort to not let my emotions get involved. With that being said, this place is terrible. The sides were freezing cold, the topper was cold, the soup was slightly above room temperature as well as the steak. Oh and the topper on the steak was cold. The service was 2/10, he had little to no recommendations, he could only tell what was popular (which already has an asterisk on the menu to indicate what is popular). I was lucky enough to be invited to a lunch event at Prime 47... and let me tell you, this spot did not disappoint. Although the menu was pre-set, the food was delicious, Starter, main and dessert. Starter was a field Greens Salad w/Strawberries, Candied Walnuts, Bleu Cheese Crumbles & Apple cider vinaingrette. I'm not usually a salad fan, but this was full of different flavors and colors and I found it exceptional! Main was a filet mignon steak cooked to medium rare, along with grilled shrimp, grilled asparagus and Idaho russet mashed potato. All was delicious. Dessert was a Chocolate & Cinnamon Bread pudding, accompanied with 4 Scotch servings because of the nature of the event. I popped into Prime 47 on a whim to take advantage of the Devour Indy special. Much to my dismay that experience wasn't as great as I'd anticipated. My previous trip to Prime was a Yelp event where the food was fantastic, so I was surprised by my Devour dinner. I ordered the steak frites, medium rare. My steak came back closer to medium well and the overall cut of meat was pretty tough. The fries are supposed to be garlic parmesan, but I couldn't taste much of either. On top of that, most of them were on the soggy side. I sat at the bar and the service was swift and friendly, so no complaints there. Given that this was Devour and I know they're capable of better, I'll be going back in hopes of providing an updated review of a better meal. read more

I've done everything from dine here, attending events, to hosting events and every time I've been very impressed with the level of service, professionalism, and quality! I may be biased (I work in the Majestic Building above them) but high quality food and impeccable service cannot go unnoted! While it may be hard to tell from the outside, Prime 47 is an elegant steakhouse in downtown Indianapolis! I always love how they theme the décor to the upcoming holiday or season. The staff is attentive and welcoming, and the bartenders are very knowledgeable on their drink selection. I attended a private event for lunch yesterday and right now I'm wishing I could have it again for lunch today! Requested a corner window table when I made the reservation and was seated at a great corner window table. Our server, Steven was awesome. Helpful and never 'selling.' In fact, I asked his recommendation between an Orin Swift and Faust Cabernet and he came back with an awesome Prisoner recommendation that was $10 less! Same with dessert. The drink and wine menu are great too. Our food was perfectly prepared and came out quickly. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Complete with piano music that is truly background. It is not often I get time with my adults sons so the time is treasured. Prime 47 made it that more special. read more

Was off to an event at Bankers Life fieldhouse and wanted to spoil myself with a nice meal. The service and food was excellent. Staff was very attentive. My Delmonico steak was cooked perfect medium rare and bacon and siracha Mac and cheese was to die for. my friend who is not a heavy eater had a great Caesar salad and loved the meatballs I can't rave enough about the service. We had leftovers and since we were off to an event, the waitress offered to let us keep them at the restaurant and we could come back after the show. She even mentioned that if the restaurant was closed, the bartender would be around cleaning up and we can check in with him/her when we got back. Our group of 20 were in the upstairs dining room and although they were busy everywhere, we truly felt like we were the only people there & that's not easy to do! My son and I went to Prime 47 yesterday evening for dinner after the Colts' game. It was my first visit there; my son had been there a few times before. The decor and overall ambiance is quite elegant, and even though we showed up with no reservations and were dressed casually in jeans the hostess greeted us graciously and immediately showed us to a table. We ordered drinks and then an appetizer of Sea Scallops wrapped in Prosciutto Di Parma with Chili-Garlic Gastrique. For entrées we each ordered a Delmonico Ribeye cooked blue with a side of Creamed Corn. For dessert my son had a Handsome Eric's Cookie (half-baked chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream & Hershey's Syrup) and I had the New York Style Cheesecake topped with fresh whipped cream & real strawberry sauce. The food was all superb and the service throughout was prompt and professional. If there is such a thing as a perfect dining experience, this was it. I will point out that Prime 47 is expensive--our bill before tip totaled over $215--but in this establishment it is worth it. read more

We ordered a very nice cut of steak, but it was served to us burnt, which made it taste terrible. We sent it back, but the steak we were then served was completely undercooked. Tonight I wanted to eat light. 4 oz wagyu 4oz tuna. With truffle mash and braised mushrooms. The group ordered a ton of sides. A really good meal nothing to disappoint. Seams one thing that has changed that do not remember. They brought out two large cookies and ice cream desserts with chocolate sauce. But its more. Cookie dough and ice cream. Nice touch. read more

High end steakhouse with a low end chef. Menu is spectacular. Sides are old school. Cuts are old school. Wagyu menu is pretty cool. The execution was horrendous. The timing on the steaks was off across the board. I ordered medium rare it came out bloody as hell. Another at the table ordered medium and it was somehow redder than mine. My mom ordered the sea bass and they didn't even cook it through. Even had an ammonium taste to it. To top it off the cookie they brought out was raw. Excellent menu, sub par execution. Where to begin....we had an excellent table in the corner by the windows, looking out over the restaurant. Bob was our server and he treated us like royalty. We both had steaks and they were perfectly cooked and delicious. The warm rolls with brown sugar butter literally made me moan, they were perfection.
