We took an out-of-town friend here Saturday night. Everything about the Prime Table is top notch; a very nice decent interior but nice and cozy. At such a busy time, (6:30 PM), we were seated right away after being greeted by several of the staff. The manager and others, including our waitress, checked with us many times to see if we needed anything. I ordered the fried chicken dinner, my wife ordered the shrimp stir fry, and our friend ordered the pork chops. They brought our salads right away, which were fresh and very good, (they also had a wide selection of salad dressings). When I saw how good my friends pork chops were, two big chops and about 3/4" thick, I wished that I had ordered them too. He ate everything but the bones, but my chicken was also very tasty with a big baked potato. My wife's stir fry looked very good also and she said it was fine-no other comments about that. Our waitress was very patient and concerned for our needs, while being overly friendly too. All in all, I felt like I was in a very upscale restaurant with prices I can afford. We ate for a little over $15 apiece. One more thing, as busy as they were, the noise level was low enough that we could talk without having to shout to hear each other. When visiting my dad in Michigan last year, (we're currently in Arkansas), he took us to Prime Table for breakfast one morning. After one meal I was hooked and after a weeks stay we ate there at least 5 out of seven days. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and were never let down. Portions were great, food was excellent, but most noteworthy was the staff. Everyone at the restaurant was happy, friendly and accommodating. My wife has food allergies and the folks at Prime Table were very attentive to her needs. We are already planning a trip back up to see Dad and plan to eat here again! Everything here is "Okay" Nothing is bad, but there's not a lot to write home about either. Except for their Baked 1/2 chicken. It's only available on Sunday as a special and it is always phenomenal. If you are going to eat here, go on a Sunday and get the baked chicken. The servers are ALWAYS friendly and attentive. They work really hard to make your experience the best it can be. You can tell a lot is expected of them as the owner is almost always present and seems to be the type to hover over them and be very stern and strict. Whatever it is she does, it seems to work. We were seated immediately even though the place was full. We got our salads and appetizers right away by the entrees took a bit longer. I got the country fried stark and really liked it, my husband got the ravioli but he said it wasn't very good. Our glasses were empty fairly often but the waitress was very nice, they were pretty busy. The prices are good and they have daily specials. We shared the Black Forest cake for dessert, and it as delicious. We decided it was good enough to try again, so we had breakfast there the next morning. Generous portions, and great service again. Excellent spot to meet friends. They have great breakfasts and can accomodate off menu requests. Although the dining are can get a little loud at times we have always enjoyed the food and family atmosphere. The only reason this place has regulars is because they are elderly and don't want to drive to Indiana. The food is 'take it or leave it" no substitutions on the budget menu. The regular menu is overpriced for what you get. It's not fresh or something... The atmosphere is is best described as school cafeteria-ish. Read the Yelp reviews and thought we would try this place because it was rated rather high. Went for breakfast before the drive home. The food was just so-so. He had a ham and cheese omelet, I had regular breakfast with eggs, potatoes and sausage. Waitress was the WORST! Asked for cream for the coffee...she never returned. Had to ask another waitress, who brought it pronto. When ordering, the waitress told me she would "ask" if I could have 1/2 sausage and 1/2 bacon (doubt that she ever did) and never returned until she brought the food (40 minutes later), it was all sausage. She never came to refill our drinks or check to see how things were. She didn't even come to bring us the check and we had to go to the cashier to pay out. Service was really bad.
