We cannot recommend Prime Voltage Electric enough. We had never built before and were tackling owner-building two ADUs in Inglewood on our own. My fiancé stumbled upon Jose and he was the most fair bid after getting many from other licensed electricians. It should be telling that after finishing the ADUs, we decided to build a custom home for ourselves and from the onset, there was no question about who we were going to contract for our electrical - there was no other choice than Jose. We honestly didn't even care to get multiple bids this time the way we did with all the other trades; we asked Jose outright to do our electrical as we knew from direct experience via the ADUs that he would give us the same high-quality work once again without gauging us on pricing. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with him - he is very thorough and does immaculate work while being both professional and communicative - and we highly recommend him each and every time friends or coworkers of ours reach out to ask about how to start building an ADU themselves. They came, they saw, they left. The estimate I needed: 1. Cost of new exhaust fan in bathroom. 2. Labor to replace exhaust fan in bathroom with a new one. 3. Labor to reattach loose fan on ceiling in a bedroom. I queried a few different electricians for estimates, because electricians can be wildly different on price. I spoke with Jose, and was pretty clear that I needed an exhaust fan in a bathroom completely replaced because the motor was defective, and I had a ceiling fan falling off the ceiling in another room that needed to be reattached. So as you can see in the text message chain, I was pretty clear that I needed to know the price for a new exhaust fan, labor for installing it, plus labor for reinstalling the ceiling fan in a bedroom. They said $300, which was actually $50 more expensive than another estimate, but Jose would come a day earlier, and I needed it done that day because I had a new tenant moving into the house the following day. They came on time with masks, confirmed through text the morning of the appointment. They brought in ladders, then asked me where the new exhaust fan was. I told them they were supposed to have it, since they gave me an estimate for a new exhaust fan, and the labor for both fans. They said, "we gave you an estimate for materials and labor. Materials mean wires, connectors, etc. The exhaust fan is a separate charge". After going back and forth about the texts, they literally packed up and walked out. I stopped one of the guys saying "are you guys going to Home Depot or something to get an exhaust fan"? He said, "yeah, we got it". They got in their truck, left the house and never came back. I texted them asking if they would come back and they never responded. Your mileage may vary, but they literally left the house without really saying they weren't going to do the job. I had a tenant moving into the bedroom where the ceiling fan is the following day, and my tenants were still dealing with a noisy exhaust fan after this visit. I called the $250 guy back and asked him to come. He came the day after and was out in 45 minutes. $250 out the door, materials and labor. Call these guys at your own risk. If you aren't going to do the job, at least tell me. Don't leave me hanging. read more

I strongly recommend you do not use this contractor. I previously used Jose to install a bathroom vanity. That went well so I then got him to replace the electrical panel and riser for my home and replace the existing knob-and-tube wiring. His crew made a lot of mistakes and were very messy, but eventually the job was done. Some weeks later, I got a call from my neighbor while I was at work, saying that the riser (the vertical metal tube from the panel that connects to the electrical power cable from the nearby pole) had fallen over and there was smoke coming from the panel. Long story short, the riser was not properly secured to the wall. It fell over, exposing live wire and damaging the new electrical panel. Jose would not respond to texts or calls. I had to pay $2000 to another electrician to fix the riser and panel. The Edison person who disconnected my supply and the other electrician both said that the bolts used to attach the riser to the wall were too short and not up to standard. Jose endangered my home with poor workmanship and would not respond to calls to fix the problem, resulting in my being $2000 out of pocket. read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They partially installed a ceiling fan and never finished the job. They said they would come back to finish the job and completely ghosted me. So sketchy. The fan I ordered needed 3 wires to be installed. I sent pictures and told them this up front. I confirmed beforehand. They showed up and installed the fan but since there were only 2 wires in the wall outlet they said the switch doesn't work, and they never installed it (even though I explained everything in detail ahead of time!). They said they could come back soon to finish since they needed to "install new wiring" and even gave me their cell number. I followed up via text multiple times. No response. I followed up via yelp. No response. I even called and someone answered, I kindly explained my situation and he said "oh you're looking for my brother, he'll call you back soon" and never responded. I hired Prime Voltage to come out and install a Tesla 220V charger. They did an amazing job. The install was clean and well done. My AC unit happened to fail at the same time after the installation and they came back out and checked it out for me and determined it was the AC controller that just happened to fail at the same time by coincidence. They saved me a lot of time and effort in figuring out the AC problem as well. Overall, very happy with the work and service. I highly recommend them for any electrical work you need. I contacted Jose to install an electrical outlet and dishwasher for my parents. He answered promptly even though the request went out late at night. I spoke with him on the phone the next day and he seemed to be a pleasant person. I scheduled for him to come out the next day between 9 and 11 am. He said that he would call and give me a 30 minute notice of his arrival time. By 10:30 am, I had not heard from him so I texted if he was still on schedule. He stated that he had had a minor automobile accident and had cancelled all of his appointments. I asked him to reschedule me another time and he did not respond. It has now been a week and he has not followed through even AFTER I texted him again. He said he could send a friend in his place. That has been 3 days ago and I still have not heard anything from him or his friend. I definitely would not recommend PrimeVoltageElectric. Read the negative reviews and mine as well as to see why.
