I needed a 220 installed in an older house which required a new panel and a sub panel. Louis was hands down the most affordable after 3 other quotes. Communication was a breeze and they showed up for the install within days. Permits were pulled immediately and I don't know if it was dumb luck but my spot check happened the day after he phoned it in. Awesome, thoughtful work.

    Nema 1450 outlet box

I worked with Jose for a small project at my house and he was great to work with. He was very responsive every time I reached out to him by phone and text. I was doing research on who to work with and text pics of the job and he was able to give me a really good quote right away. He then followed up with some additional questions and we were ready to start. I needed to add additional outlets in my garage as well as wiring for lighting on the ceiling. He knocked it out. I also wanted to add electric car charging and he recommended the outlet for the nema 14-50, since the box is outside of the house/ garage he made sure to provide a weather proof box. Lastly I had a smart switch I was having difficulty adding my self and he was able to fix it right away. I highly recommend Jose for your next electrical project. He gave me the best price and was a true professional, on time, responsive and a genuinely nice guy! Thanks for your help!

They came, they saw, they left. The estimate I needed: 1. Cost of new exhaust fan in bathroom. 2. Labor to replace exhaust fan in bathroom with a new one. 3. Labor to reattach loose fan on ceiling in a bedroom. I queried a few different electricians for estimates, because electricians can be wildly different on price. I spoke with Jose, and was pretty clear that I needed an exhaust fan in a bathroom completely replaced because the motor was defective, and I had a ceiling fan falling off the ceiling in another room that needed to be reattached. So as you can see in the text message chain, I was pretty clear that I needed to know the price for a new exhaust fan, labor for installing it, plus labor for reinstalling the ceiling fan in a bedroom. They said $300, which was actually $50 more expensive than another estimate, but Jose would come a day earlier, and I needed it done that day because I had a new tenant moving into the house the following day. They came on time with masks, confirmed through text the morning of the appointment. They brought in ladders, then asked me where the new exhaust fan was. I told them they were supposed to have it, since they gave me an estimate for a new exhaust fan, and the labor for both fans. They said, "we gave you an estimate for materials and labor. Materials mean wires, connectors, etc. The exhaust fan is a separate charge". After going back and forth about the texts, they literally packed up and walked out. I stopped one of the guys saying "are you guys going to Home Depot or something to get an exhaust fan"? He said, "yeah, we got it". They got in their truck, left the house and never came back. I texted them asking if they would come back and they never responded. Your mileage may vary, but they literally left the house without really saying they weren't going to do the job. I had a tenant moving into the bedroom where the ceiling fan is the following day, and my tenants were still dealing with a noisy exhaust fan after this visit. I called the $250 guy back and asked him to come. He came the day after and was out in 45 minutes. $250 out the door, materials and labor. Call these guys at your own risk. If you aren't going to do the job, at least tell me. Don't leave me hanging.

Electrical conduit, LED lighting and transformer install

Rehired Jose to install a Tesla wall charger. He ran the conduit as clean as he could around the house. Professional and fair prices. Will continue to rehire.

Jose did not secure the riser properly to the wall. It fell over, exposing live wire and damaging the panel he had installed.

I strongly recommend you do not use this contractor. I previously used Jose to install a bathroom vanity. That went well so I then got him to replace the electrical panel and riser for my home and replace the existing knob-and-tube wiring. His crew made a lot of mistakes and were very messy, but eventually the job was done. Some weeks later, I got a call from my neighbor while I was at work, saying that the riser (the vertical metal tube from the panel that connects to the electrical power cable from the nearby pole) had fallen over and there was smoke coming from the panel. Long story short, the riser was not properly secured to the wall. It fell over, exposing live wire and damaging the new electrical panel. Jose would not respond to texts or calls. I had to pay $2000 to another electrician to fix the riser and panel. The Edison person who disconnected my supply and the other electrician both said that the bolts used to attach the riser to the wall were too short and not up to standard. Jose endangered my home with poor workmanship and would not respond to calls to fix the problem, resulting in my being $2000 out of pocket.

Came fast and handled the circuit breaker in about 10 minutes. Competitively priced. Everyone charges a lot and can do worse.

We scheduled a visit…read moreto check out the problem the next day, which was not an emergency inspection or anything. He came to check out the problem and give me a quote. Overall, he was thorough in explaining stuff. What rubbed me the wrong way was how after I asked him for a quote and told him I have one other person checking it out to give me a quote, his tone changed. I explained that this is an expensive project and it would be dumb to just get your price and go with it without checking with at least one other company. I'm not made out of money here. He then gave me the quote and it was literally like twice the range of most panel upgrades. I get that you're licensed, but so are most of these companies. I feel like because of my situation (Edison had cut the power to my place), he was just taking advantage. Admittedly, I was desperate to get it fixed, but I'm not going to pay almost 12k for something that costs around 5k. So he gives me the quote breakdown and four options (all way over average prices), and then I say thanks and that again, someone is also going to stop by and take a look and I'll text him either way. He then gave me a guilt trip about how they reserved the day for me and how it sucks that I'm not just taking the job. At that point, even if the second guy wasn't going to work out, I was not going with this company. Fortunately, the second guy (also licensed) that came was able to pull some strings and get everything done --meter checked, permitted--the next day for a fraction of what Ready Electric quoted me. Power is back on and I didn't spend more than I needed to. For those of you needing electric work: shop around. Oftentimes we need this kind of work done ASAP, but companies will definitely take advantage as was this case. 3 stars because they responded quick and did explain things thoroughly. Clarification based on Ready Electric's reply: The quote was $11,600 for a standard panel upgrade. Yes, my panel was in bad shape, but I was not misrepresenting the situation. If anything, to suggest that your most affordable option was $1k when it was really (according to you) not really an option at all (with zero warranty even) and to leave out your main recommendation (the panel upgrade) is misrepresentative. I credit you for going out of your way and explaining stuff, and I would imagine that as a business, that part of the getting business is time-consuming. Apparently there was an inspection fee that was waived, and the gentlemen that came even asked, "how did you get the inspection fee waived?" Well, no fee was ever mentioned upon calling and making an appointment, and had there been, I would have never made the appointment in the first place. You mentioned that you understand people would get a second opinion and that's good; however, the whole reason I wrote my review (which I rarely do) was because of the guilt trip I was given for doing so. It was unnecessary and a poor persuasion technique. If I were to have said I have another guy coming to get a second opinion and you were like, "absolutely, just let us know if you decide to move forward with us," I would have never wrote my review, or I would've written one that praised the thoroughness of your quoting process. Also, the guy I went with was a referral from my brother's current contractor, but he has never worked with any of us directly. So we didn't have an existing relationship or anything. In fact, when I told him what i was quoted, he laughed and said that's just people trying to take advantage. Again, the point of my review was ultimately to warn people to shop around and not go with the first quote you get, especially if you're in a pinch like I was. Another day without electricity is worth not getting ripped off.

They took the time to answer all of our questions and concerns and explained everything clearly, including a detailed breakdown of the work and pricing before we moved forward. When asked if he could quote me on some work in the attic he said he would take a look at it if he was seriously considered for the job. A few weeks went by and I contacted him to see if he could come he said he would and not only did he not show up but he didn't bother letting me know he couldn't make it.
