This place is a new gem in Oakland! Staff is super attentive and facility is dope. It has a lounge area for games on tv, two full simulators, and a putting green. So glad I fell into this place.. Big shout out to Preston for the new business.

Long version: The first time I needed to adjust the lie angle on my irons a few degrees. He was very friendly and professional at the time. He insisted on doing a lie angle board and I went along with it even though I knew what adjustment I needed. In retrospect I should have been more insistent, so I'll take responsibility for that, but he likes to stick to his process. The adjustment was much stronger than I planned on getting. After using my clubs for a few weeks, it felt off, so I ended up going back to him to get the adjustment I originally wanted. He was cool about it and made the adjustment. He charged less this time around - he actually hesitated charging at all. After building a rapport I planned on being a repeat customer. So several weeks later, I reached out to him about adjusting the loft on a single iron. I told him it wasn't urgent. We arrange a time to meet - all seemed ok. When I get there he starts doing the adjustment and the tone shifts. He starts telling me about how I'm wasting his time with this loft change and how other customers asking for small adjustments are wasting his time. He's dropping F bombs and coming across really hostile. Keep in mind, this is a paid service and didn't ask for this as a favor. 5 minute non-urgent job for $10. I was completely taken off guard. I found myself in a position verbally defending this adjustment that *I was paying for*. I couldn't believe this guy was mad about getting work requests directly related to his club repair business. He also could have turned down the job before we both went through the trouble of meeting. I was very explicit on what the adjustment request was. Bizarre. I've read other reviews about similar outbusts and I totally understand now. Based on the reviews, he can be really great or really angry. I've seen both sides after 3 visits and after that uncomfortable encounter I don't think it's worth the unpredictable volatility.

Very disappointing experience at Golf Mart…read more We arrived on Sunday at approximately 4:45 PM because Google showed the store was open until 5:00 PM. Before we could even enter, an employee stopped us at the door and told us they were closing early. We explained that we only wanted to take a quick look around, but he went to ask the manager anyway. Manager John Z. then came to the door and told us the same thing--that we couldn't come in despite it still being within posted business hours. He offered a lame explanation about a power outage the PREVIOUS day and internet issues, but none of that explained why the store was refusing customers 15 minutes before its advertised closing time. How did they stay open from 10am-4:45pm? Yeah, totally not buying that excuse. If the store needed to close early, the hours should have been updated accordingly. Instead, customers were led to believe the store was open, only to be turned away at the door before the posted closing time. It felt like they simply wanted to leave early rather than honor their stated business hours. Very frustrating and not the level of customer service I would expect.

I wanted to look in to replacing the "top" of my bag. I scheduled an appointment with Darron. A very simple process with Keppler's. I went in ready to remake my driver , 3W, 5W and possibly the hybrid set up. Keppler's Ask that you only bring in the clubs you are looking to be fit. Darron had the hitting bay set up quickly, and after a warm up, we started. I hit my current driver, usually 4-5 hits at a time. Darron evaluated the results and started to calmly make changes to my driver head and shaft. He also had me hit 2 different "new" Ping drivers and evaluated those results. Darron then had me hit my 3W and 5W. He liked the numbers, but made some loft adjustments on each and I was hitting them well. He had me go back to hit my current driver with a Ping shaft change. That was the correct set up for where I am currently. Bottom line, I was ready to replace three to five clubs. I was VERY satisfied with a shaft change , along with some setting tweaks. I was hitting the driver much better than when we started, and have even more confidence in my 3W and 5W. If, your goal is to be in the best equipment, fit for you, go see Darron. He is truly invested in you and your game, not in trying to sell you some "magic". Keppler's is terrific. Thank you Darron.

Darron is a nice guy and very knowledgeable about what he does. Got me sorted out with clubs I enjoyed. That's where the good ends. I ordered a full set of irons, a few wedges, wood, and a driver. The irons had to be shipped which is normal, but the wedges were used wedges that needed to be bent a little bit. They gave me the option to wait a bit and take them home same day or come back and pick them up with my irons. I figured I could just wait for the irons. They called me they were ready, went to pick them up. Oops we forgot the wedges hehe! Just come back tomorrow nbd! Yeah man nbd, I'd love to drive 40 minutes out here again to pick up two wedges that should've been done 2 weeks ago. Go back the next day, they have the wrong grips on them. (Forgot to mention they had the wrong grips on the irons as well) I did change them on a phone call a week before, but it was still written down. When I was visibly disappointed my grips had been wrong twice + having to drive back another day, they were like "shucks my bad" no other compensation was offered without me asking. Came back for a refitting because I wanted to adjust my lie degree on my irons, again Darron was fantastic. Great guy all around 5 stars for Darron. Thanks to him alone, I got a great set of clubs I love. Had my irons changed a few degrees and asked to have 2 clubs regripped because I wanted to try MCCs and MCC +4s. Again they messed this up and gave me 2 normal MCCs. Not even gonna waste my time going back to get it fixed, going anywhere else. So my advice for any1 that decides to shop here, double and triple check everything you have done, because there's pretty much no quality control. The best part is they have like 10 people working there at all times and the ones roaming around are always nice seeing if you need anything. But the people that actually help at the counter are always somehow immediately annoyed the second you ask them to do anything. Old bald guy with glasses looked like I just kicked his dog before I even opened my mouth. Just go to PGAsuperstore, golf mart, galaxy, anything but here. Their return/refund policy is much worse, their prices are higher than other places, they have less selection of clubs, and besides from their fitters, their customer service is terrible. I can't comprehend how this place has good reviews. I am not a difficult customer by any means and am more of a pushover if anything when it comes to demanding service when they do something incorrect. Spend $3k here and they'll treat you like you're a burden to them for asking for basic services such as adjusting the lie on your irons or having them regripped. Absolutely wild work.

Have to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I asked about using the hitting bays to demo clubs, and a nice young lady got me set up and even said she would build clubs with shafts to my specs to try! Wasn't expecting that level of service. Unfortunately, she had to excuse herself and another gentleman took over who wasn't as accommodating in offering to build to my specs. Got to demo three of the hottest new drivers and 3 woods with no sales pressure in their state of the art golf simulators. Although, I didn't buy, I was impressed with the service and selection. Then I began walking around the store and saw they have a Trackman practice area that people can sign up for as regulars and a good amount of clothing and accessories with many popular retail brands (Nike, Adidas, etc) and lesser known but quality looking apparel on sale for reasonable ($50 and under, not $100-150 on sale) prices. As a regular shopper at the Golf Mart Superstore in South City/San Bruno, I would day this store is nicer but doesn't have as many used clubs, esp. from top brands like Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, etc., to choose from. As an avid golfer interested in improving my game, I will be back soon to try out more of the latest equipment or perhaps take advantage of their practice program or free fitting service, too!!

Each time I've brought it in, the staff has been friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to help. I really appreciate how quickly they handle warranty claims and get clubs shipped to the manufacturer. If you're looking to buy new clubs, I'd definitely recommend purchasing them here. Not only do they help you find the right equipment, but if something covered under warranty goes wrong, they'll take care of the warranty process for you at no extra charge. I've gotten a driver, new wedges, and even a trade-in set for my girlfriend. There are good deals to be had, just depends on what's traded-in and what's available. I've noticed the best time to shop is around the major holidays because they'll have solid discounts on demo and trade-in clubs. I recently got all my clubs re-gripped and they had a golf pride grip special where labor was waived. On my last visit, I was in the market for new shoes and shout out to Kathleen in the shoe department, she's really the nicest person and helped me find the right pair of footjoys. I told her my shoe size and she brought out a bunch of different styles and sizes for me to try bc I learned that Footjoy runs big. This is why I prefer to shop in-store over online, because there's nothing like trying stuff on in the store so you don't have to deal with returns and exchanges.
