Zuma here. I went to primo hoagies a couple months ago, and I have to say that this place is just average to me. The service and wait time are good, and they do have a wide selection of mini desserts and side dishes, but the sandwiches are just ok. The sandwich bread isn't the softest here, dude, and it outshines the rest of the ingredients. I feel like they never put enough sauce on, but the ham, turkey, cheese, etc... is good. Overall, the place isn't bad, but it's not the best sandwich I've had. This pup feels "meh" about Primo Hoagies.

Wrote me a cute thank you !

I'm giving Primo 5 stars.. first I love their subs.. second super friendly staff.. most importantly I feel they truly appreciate their customers .,I called 30 mins before closing and asked if they had time to make me a sub .. response was" of course !" They write a cute "thank you " on my sub wrapper.

This is one enormous Primo Italian Hoagie.

Just outside of downtown Easton, PA is a strip mall, you will find Primo Hoagies. Living in Chicago, you cannot find great hoagies anywhere. So, visiting family in PA got me thinking about finding the best place around. I asked a few locals and everyone said Primo's. Now, I don't know if they are really the best around, but they were very good. I was unable to find them using the Yelp iPhone app, so I found them on Mapquest. They offer online ordering, but I wanted to see before ordering so we went there. It is fairly large, and there were very few people there at around 6:30 PM on a Saturday. The place is well lit and very clean. Their menu is huge, but really mostly consists of Italian hoagies with minor variations between them. I simply had their standard Italian with lettuce, tomato, oil, vinegar and oregano. The hoagies are HUGE. A small can probably feed a small family, but I got the "primo" size. (It is between a small and a large.) My father got a meatball any my mother a veggie. We also got a side order of their homemade potato salad. The sandwiches were fantastic. After a few bites I noticed that they were also quite spicy, so be prepared or order them not as spicy if your tastes are that way. But wow. It is a couple of hours later and I still taste the spice. The potato salad was fresh, but I have to admit that I've had better. Overall, though, these are first class hoagies. A visit here is well worth the time. One other thing - although I didn't ask, I believe this is family owned. Based on looks, I would guess that Dad was making the hoagies, Grandpa was delivering and the daughter was working the cash register. It's always best to go to a family owned place (even if I think this may be a franchise.)

Italian with no tomato add hot peppers and spicy mustard. DELICIOUS!!!!

I'd heard nothing but glowing reviews about this place, so I was more than a little excited to experience it for myself. For appetizers, I had the chicken spring rolls, fried calamari, and lobster bisque. The spring rolls had a crisp bite with a perfect mix of napa cabbage, carrot, hoisin, and sriracha aioli. The calamari was tender, lightly breaded, and served with a zesty jalapeño aioli and marinara. The lobster bisque was rich and creamy, topped with savory lobster meat. All three were excellent! I went with the lobster papparedelle for dinner, and it was just as amazing as the appetizers! The noodles were perfectly cooked, the sherry cream sauce was flavorful, and the lobster was incredibly succulent. Couldn't have asked for a better meal. My friends tried the guinness braised short ribs and the penne alla vodka. The shorts ribs were a hit, but the penne alla vodka didn't stand out, it was just average. With so many other great options on the menu, I wouldn't recommend it. Service was great. We were seated right away, even without a reservation, and our server, Maria, was friendly and showed superb timeliness throughout our meal.

I kicked things off with crispy chicken dumplings, perfectly fried and served with a sweet-and-salty soy yuzu sauce, along with rich, pillowy pumpkin gnocchi. For my entree, I went with the pasta of the day, fettuccine in a garlic-horseradish cream sauce with mushrooms, Swiss chard, and tender beef tips. My friend went with the savory short ribs, served alongside a golden Irish cheddar potato cake, roasted root vegetables, and crispy shallots. The ambience was nice, clean and a good date night restaurant. They had roses available for sale for valentine's day. The food looked and smelled amazing. I had an asperol spritzer, bisteka and tiramisu. My boyfriend had the Bud bolognese. He said it was pretty good but it was heavy with onions. My plate had a NY strip steak cooked perfectly med rare , broccoli rabe and fingerling potatoes. The steak had great flavor as for the sides they were ok. They didnt have as much flavor as I had expected. The tiramisu was rich and creamy and the brandy kept me warm on my walk back to the car. I have to say one of the best tiramisu I've ever had. The asperol spritz; this was my first time having one ever, so I have nothing to compare, it was ok. It is supposed to be citrus, rhubarb and prosecco, I expected it to have a sweetness but it had an overpowering bitterness kinda like eating orange rind. The food was mediocre at best the fig pizza was good, the baked artichoke smothered in breadcrumbs and over done. The pasta it self was good but the sauce lackluster and tasteless. They all reflect some kind of ambivalent emotional response- vindictive even…read more We have been coming here since they opened, and frequented his prior establishment at the Silk Mill. Nowt a bad experience. The menu is appropriate to the wine. This is a Wine Bar- that is the focus. Jason, the proprietor knows his trade very well, and is not bashful to discuss it, his passion for it, and his history in said trade. Said passion runs thoroughly deep, and his wealth of knowledge may even supersede this. The monthly Wine Dinners showcase his unending search for lesser known, and often hard to find wines within the contiguous United States- Jason being an ex-pat Aussie. I've come to expect a bit of a story and charade with each dinner- and experience. I like that the sampled wines are all generally for sale. The food is usually paired very well, and executed as such. There do seem to be a regularly rotating staff, but that's irrelevant to the experiences. It's his show. Sometimes the portions can be a bit too large at the dinners, and that says a lot for the price- very fair. As for the restaurant proper, the portions are fine. His curated charcuterie board is spectacular, and local. The Bavarian aspect is appreciated quite well. I miss Zum Stammtisch in NY- now, that does not mean this is a German Restaurant, but there are enough influences and pop-up fare that ist es wunderbar! His schnitzels are always thin as paper, crispy as seashells, and delightfully tasty. We always have the German Fare when it's available, as it so often it. For a state populated by/with so many Germans, this is THE ONLY good true German food around. The overall decor is a bit dim (lighting) and old world European- this is not negative- I prefer this to modern settings. There is a 'secret' Narnia room which is reserved for parties of 12 or more. I quite like the concept- though have not used it- had the tour. Again, the wine list is incredibly extensive, and you can always find what you want. Ask. Then, visit the curated wine shop next door! Truly one of a kind. That's another review. Book the specialty dinners weeks in advance as they generally sell out, but pop on a standard night, as there are usually a few tables open. Sit at the bar and chat with the staff about the wines- it's an adventure.

While the food wasn't personally my favorite, a few dishes stood out--especially the Roman-style grilled artichoke, which had the perfect crispness, along with the lobster ravioli and the German apple cake, which was nicely balanced and not overly sweet. The flavors overall leaned earthy, which may just not be my personal preference, as my parents love this place and are regulars. I would definitely come back for wine and appetizers. The restaurant offers authentic German cuisine and is truly unique, with nothing else quite like it in the Lehigh Valley.
