I wanted to try primo because it looked like a good Italian sub place. I walk in and get completely ignored by staff while I wait to order they are talking in Spanish in the back. The FAT guy he must be the manager he was so rude and not welcoming whatsoever. I asked him what his favorite sub was and he told me the Italian was popular lol what a joke. I pulled out a 100$ bill and he told me I can't pay with that because he didn't have change. What kind of business are you if you don't have change for cash. It's good, filling and quick. I've never been to a PrimoHoagies before, but I would definitely consider going back. It's on par with a Firehouse Sub and definitely better than a Subway. This place is under new management. The owner, I believe her name is Lisa, just started on January 2025. She seems to really care and wants her customers happy. She does great at recommending things. The sandwiches are made fresh with fresh ingredients. The quality and quantity of the sandwiches are great. The flavor is great as well. The ambiance is very welcoming and inviting. Ok they are young so that could be let go I guess but THEN the sandwich was so bad. I got the new Thanksgiving sandwich which had turkey dressing and cranberry sauce and it was COLD not warmed up so if you can imagine cold turkey, cold dressing and then cranberry sauce on a cold bun for $12 for a 6 inch sandwich there you go that's what I got. who would think u would have to request that stuffing and turkey would be warmed up??? As hoagie/sub lover that has been judging and loving subs since grade school - their subs are delicious. They seriously take me back to the good ole days when subs used REAL ingredients. These subs take me back to the old Italian deli in my neighborhood. Fresh baked real bread, the best quality thinly sliced meats complimented by all the good accoutrements. I seriously dream about these sandwiches. Service- top notch. Their manager Jefferson makes the whole experience amazing. Always taking caring of it all effortlessly with a smile. They are very lucky to have someone that is so good at juggling it all while making customers feel like family. Ambiance/location: it's a sub shop on a busy street. But the sub shop always has parking available; the interior and exterior are always kept clean and inviting. As soon as you walk in they have a deli fridge to the right of the counter. Here you can find an array of delicious Italian treats to take home. They also have a couple of tables if you desire to eat your food in store. Every Sunday we are in the area and try to go to different spots for lunch. We landed at PrimoHoagies. It is a small sandwich spot and has about 4 tables. You walk up to the counter and they take your order and will bring it out to your table. They also have a deli grab & go for items like pickles, potato salads, peppers & desserts. We grabbed a pickle slice container and we thought the pickles had great flavor. My daughter and I both had variations of the tuna. I had the Pescara - Italian style tuna (meaning no mayo), roasted red peppers and provolone. Honestly it was dry and a little difficult to enjoy. The bread was delicious and the roasted red peppers helped a little, but I definitely wouldn't get it again. My daughter felt the same about the tuna she had. My husband enjoyed his sandwich, Turkey Diablo. He really enjoyed the potato chips. They use Herr brand and we all enjoyed them. My experience was really a 3.5, but the space was so clean and the service was so friendly that I bumped it up to 4. We would definitely return and I will try one of the vegetable subs. read more

As someone from the Jersey shore, I was so excited to hear that a Primo's was coming to SFL. The decor is the same, the smell is great. The service was good. However, things changed when my food arrived. I ordered a bada bing, which is my favorite item on the menu that I would get all the time in New Jersey. Not only did it taste completely different, it was terrible and painful, both during eating and after. The rabe was cold and filled with too much red pepper, making it way too spicy, and the chicken's flavor was completely off. It made me incredibly sick and I was very disappointed, as I'd drove almost an hour out to try it out. It was nothing like it is in New Jersey. I also ordered a turkey and cheese, which I ate later. The turkey and cheese was pretty good, as the thuman's turkey never disappoints. As a chain, I expect when I order something at one location, that it would be the same as at another location. That was not the case with this location. Primo Hoagies is my favorite sandwich shop, and I'm very disappointed that its journey to SFL resulted in some negative changes. read more

Finally, Primo Hoagies returned back to Fort Lauderdale. Absolutely the best hoagies and sandwiches in town. This is a Philly shop that has expanded into this market. The taste of Philly is here in Fort Lauderdale. I was sad to see the old location close a few years ago and really excited to see they made their way back to 17th street. I've had everything on this menu or close to it over the years. Place just opened last week and stopped in Saturday. I opted for the Italian Diablo, which is basically an Italian with hot cheese & spices. Get the Primo size, even if you can't eat it all. The seeded bread is excellent! Makes the sandwich. It's hard, the way a hoagie roll should be, especially when you put oil & vinegar on it. People sometimes complain and think it's stale. They've never been to Philly to order a hoagie. Soft & mushy rolls ruin a sandwich. My wife opted for the Old Italian. She loved it. Fresh, tasty and was really impressed. We got a side of macaroni & potato salad. Both are small but perfect for what we wanted. We sampled both, I've had before and it was the same quality of Primo's. Excellent and recommended. Lots of great sides there, try the pepper shooters and if you like hot stuff, the long hots! Finished with the Dirt Pudding. This dessert is heavenly!! MUST GET. It's a mash of Oreo and Cream. It's a Philly/Jersey thing, but will be your thing too if you try it. From prior visits to Primo's, get the Bada Bing or Boom if you like Chicken Cutlets and the Meatball is amazing too, if you want hot items. You can't go wrong here. Something for everyone on the menu. I feel like I'm doing PR for them! I opted for the Pescara, described as Italian Style Tuna in Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Sharp Provolone topped with Roasted Red Peppers. 'Italian Style' does some heavy lifting, as it was just tuna tossed with olive oil and not seasoning (I don't think it even had salt). My guy got it right. I've had this on my list of places to try for a while and I'm glad I did. Blows any south florida sub place out of the water. WAY better than la spadas, subway, jersey mikes, publix etc. Literally top tier in south florida. Eddie Miranda, I think he's the manager, took care of me. Answered all my questions, and didn't over-sell anything. Best bread I've ever had in Florida and thats not an overstatement as it literally was. I was looking for something different to eat for lunch when I found this place. An Italian sub shop, it was close to where we were, and it turned out to be a good choice. The place is very small, but kept very clean. There is also a very limited amount of seating if you're looking to eat in. The people working there are incredibly friendly, as is the owner. What did we have? My wife decided we needed some pickle slices first, very tasty. Now, my wife and daughter both had tuna, but they were both different. My daughter, she dam inhaled it! And my wife said hers was okay. I had the audiablo sub, nine inch size. It was roast beef, turkey, hot pepper cheese, and hot spices. I topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, hot peppers, pickles, and mayo. It was good, but the bread, I don't know what kind of bread it was, but it was really good. You know the saying "Don't let a sucker keep his money ?" I was that sucker today at this joint. A colleague of mine recommended me this place. I took my wife for lunch. We ordered two primos sized hoagies a bag of chips and one bottle of iced tea. The bill came to thirty four dollars and cents. The rewards program gave me a ten dollar discount because it was my first time using it. The bill came to twenty four dollars and change that I paid with my debit card. The person that took my order was Mr. Jefferson, the store manager. I did not receive an itemized receipt. Later, wile my wife and me were eating Mr. Jefferson told me the lady owner notice he didn't charge me for the chips. Since I didn't have a paper receipt I did not know what I had paid for. I told him it was not a problem and I proceeded to take a second bag of chips and asked him to charge me for both. I paid with my debit card again without paying attention to what was charged. We finished our meal and left. Mr. Jefferson charged me fifteen dollars and thirty six cents for two bags of chips that are labeled at two sixty nine each. He charged me the ten dollars the rewards program gave me and the two bags of chips. On the other hand I have to say that the food was very good. We loved our sandwiches and the chips. read more

As sub shops go outside of the state of NJ this one gets the highest marks. A NJ chain that failed in South Florida pre-covid makes a comeback with a small location on SE 17th street causeway in a little strip mall. These are pretty much cookie cutter stores same as the NJ ones. I always enjoyed their other locations and I was excited to see they opened again down by me. Cold cuts are cold cuts for the most part though PRIMO does use Thuman's brand which is a NJ staple and as far as I am concerned the king of cold cuts. The other thing that separates them from the rest is the bread. Medium sandwiches or large get the crusty bread with seeds that absolutely make the difference. Toppings are ample and menu diverse. I only have had multiple cold cut sandwiches so I can't comment to the hot ones, but as far as I'm concerned needing a bit of NJ a quick stop at Primo's does that. read more

Stopped in here thinking I was headed to Laspada's, but ended up in primo hoagies. I wasn't sure what to expect as I was thinking it was a small mom and pop style place and I figured I would give it a try. Once I saw a "Thumans" clock on the wall I knew it was from the Northeast. (Thuman's is essentially an alternative to Boar's Head brand) Turns out this deli is a part of a very large chain, of course "hoagie" is really originally from the South Jersey/Philadelphia area and where they have what appears to be many locations. Anyway, the sandwich was ok and the staff was very friendly which was nice. To critique the sandwich, plenty of toppings which were tasty but I felt the cold cuts were pretty light... so I don't think I will return. I imagine there will be a bunch more of these opening up, but I still don't think it beats La spada's or even Jersey Mike's for that matter. The rolls and the quality reminds me of a rebranding of Firehouse Subs which I stopped going to years ago. Wow...What an amazing aroma when you walk inside!!! It smells so good, just as a deli should. Very clean. Pretty good hoagie! I feel they could add a bit more meat to make it an effective authentic hoagie. Also, the bread is great but a bit on the hard side. The outside cracks in your mouth which I love, but the inside is a little on the tough side. The flavor is great, but I wish they would've added the jalapeños and the oil and vinegar as I asked. The service was absolutely wonderful. The man behind the counter is friendly and enjoys what he does. One could tell that he takes pride in his shop. Just had the Crusher and it was extremely tasty. Didn't add anything to it, no sauces, no condiments, just straight up meat, cheese and peppers and it was fantastic and flavorful without them. I ordered the Bada Bing small sandwich and ask for a seeded roll and the cashier said he not sure he can do that, okay whatever, then I asked for light mayo, lettuce and tomato to be added and the rabe on the side. Okay no problem the cashier said. Printed my receipt and I glance at it and I see a charge for extra rabe. I told the cashier (who also made my sandwich) and he took the extra charge off.
