I had such an amazing experience at Earl's! I came in with a party of six for a bridesmaid proposal dinner with my girls. From start to finish, the service was incredible. Every staff member we encountered was so kind and welcoming. Paige, the Guest Experience Manager, went above and beyond by creating a custom table sign and surprising us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate my milestone. The GM, Eddie, also stopped by to wish us well, which made the experience feel so personal. Our server, Keilani, was an absolute sweetheart and made sure we had everything we needed. She constantly checked on us, double checked things and knew the menu well. The food was delicious! The Shrimp & Scallop Spaghetti was cheesy, pesto goodness. The corn & avocado dip was our favorite starter. The Lychetini was unique with subtle floral notes. The saddest thing is this could be a 5 star review. They have most of the elements: best location, beautiful restaurant, above average food, and cute drinks like the "teeny tiny espresso martini". Sadly, over many visits, we have noticed that management prioritizes operations over hospitality. Abundant staff are more focused on prep tasks rather than customer facing engagement. Overall. I waited a few days before writing this review because I've been in a full blown relationship conflict with Earl's Kitchen + Bar. On one hand, this place is gorgeous. Like "let's take pictures before we eat because this patio belongs in a lifestyle magazine" gorgeous. Las Olas energy at its finest. The outdoor seating is fantastic, the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy, and honestly, the food was outstanding. Which is why this hurts. We came for Mother's Day brunch and intentionally avoided rushing over for happy hour pricing because we wanted a relaxed meal. Adult decision. Responsible. Mature. Mistake number one apparently. Started with the charred corn and avocado dip and I need whoever created that dish to be recognized with some sort of civic award. Ridiculously good. One of those appetizers where you immediately start calculating whether licking the bowl in public is socially acceptable. Then came the steak and eggs discussion. My wife and I were both looking at the steak and eggs listed on the menu for $26.75. Our waiter explained that the standard steak was only four ounces and casually suggested upgrading to a six ounce or eight ounce cut instead. Now listen carefully because this is where the plot twists into a financial thriller. At no point during this conversation was pricing for the upgrade mentioned. And shame on me for not asking. That part is absolutely on me. But the suggestion was delivered with the same casual energy as "would you like fries with that?" So I upgraded to the eight ounce. My wife went with the six ounce. She also had a margarita she loved. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed and, as it turns out, accidentally entering a luxury cattle futures market. Then the handheld payment machine arrived. $175. I stared at that screen like it had just informed me my mortgage was due immediately. Turns out those extra six ounces of sirloin between the two plates carried an upcharge that could finance a small fishing boat. Roughly ten dollars an ounce for the upgrade. Somewhere, a Wagyu cow laughed at me from a distance. And look, before anybody jumps in, yes... I should have asked. Lesson learned. But restaurants also know exactly what they're doing when upgrade pricing gets floated around casually without numbers attached. There's a difference between upselling and a sneak attack. Which makes this review frustrating because I genuinely loved almost everything else. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic. Service was friendly. But nothing tanks the ending of a brunch quite like feeling blindsided by steak math. Pro tip for future diners: If they suggest the upgraded steak, ask the price immediately. Ask twice. Possibly get it notarized. Three stars because I really do want to come back someday. But right now I still feel like I got hit with a reverse happy hour. read more

We started with a lemon drop martini since margaritas & martinis are half off on Mondays. Drink was strong and so good. We then ordered the steak and sushi with the spicy salmon crispy rice. We had a few burgers, corn and avocado dip, spicy Calabrese pasta and the tortellini. I tried everyone's meal and I was really impressed with the consistency of quality in each dish. My favorite was the tortellini. What could be a basic dish was made fresh with lemon zest and a light cream sauce. The cocktails were on point too. Came here Saturday night with a friend during peak hours and it was packed, about an hour wait, but we were able to grab seats at the bar right away, which worked out perfectly. I really appreciated this as I'm not drinking alcohol and I dont drink soda & juices. I had the sparkling lemonade with lots of mint, which was perfectly sweetened, not over sweetened. Decided to try this spot after a show at the Broward Center. Their full menu is available late night which is a huge plus. The hostess was very friendly and quickly seated us even though the place was pretty busy at 10:45pm on a Thursday night. The server was just as friendly and on point the entire night. Another bonus, their happy hour is 10pm until closing time (1am). I got the Earl's old fashioned and it was tasty. We got their maple glazed tomahawk pork chop and the Korean beef bibimbap for our entrees. The kurobuta pork chop was HUGE! A very impressive presentation and it was cooked perfectly. Tender, lean and juicy! It came with a bacon jam on top, mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe, and a spicy peppercorn jus. The bibimbap came in a huge bowl that was super hot. The server said to pour the desired amount of gochujang sauce, that's served on the side, and mix the bowl well with two huge spoons that come with it. The concept is that the rice on the bottom becomes crispy from the heat and will likely burn if you don't mix it (like I said the bowl was super heated). This was a delicious experience if you like crispy rice. The entire time I ate the rice more parts became crispy from sitting on the bottom. The ingredients in the bowl were just as tasty! Kimchi, carrots, tender beef, ginger soy mushrooms, broccoli rabe pieces, and a soft egg! The rooftop part was closed when we got there due to a private party. I was able to go up and take a look and it's a place I want to go back to next time we are down there. This place has a very relaxing and modern vibe with great food, drinks, and service. read more

And dessert is a choice of a chocolate lava cake with ice cream or a cheesecake slice. The steak was lacking a bit of the steak flavor. It was otherwise tender and cooked to my liking. The truffle tortellini was missing the truffle flavor but the blackened shrimp was excellent. Both desserts were delicious but the cheesecake is likely to be one of the best cheese cakes I've ever had. My aperol spritz was delicious with a unique refreshing flavor. This is a perfect spot for date night or girls night out, the inside is so nice and the rooftop is perfect. The only thing is you don't get a clear view of the street view of Las Olas. But if it's not too hot, I recommend sitting outside. My favorite dish has to be the steak and sushi, which is a tataki style prime sirloin in a Ponzo sauce. And I paired it with the crispy sushi roll, which had a burst of incredible flavor. The calamari was nice and crispy topped with jalapeño and fresh cucumber. It paired deliciously with the Yuzu aioli. I forgot the name of the drink, but it was one of the summer drinks, which was refreshing. If I had known it was dog friendly, I would have brought my dog here! I really enjoyed the service and enjoyed the food too! I'm in town visiting friends and family this weekend, so a friend and I stopped by for Happy Hour, last night. A Friday. Their Happy Hour menu had a decent amount of offerings, both food and cocktail wise. Unfortunately, the flavors aren't there. One exception to this rule is the steak frites - the steak was cooked nicely - we ordered it medium rare. Very tender and seasoned well. We opted to order a second plate after we finished, however the chef may have gotten a little heavy-handed with the salt this time around, but still tasty. This order was accompanied by truffle fries & a dipping sauce. All in all, a good plate. In addition to the steak frites, we ordered a couple of the baja tacos, crispy rice with salmon, 6 oysters & a couple of dirty martini's. The baja tacos & crispy rice with salmon were fine, the martini's were also just fine, but the oysters however, we an absolute no. Presentation was okay, the oysters were on the smaller side, which is acknowledged, they were east coast oysters. Where on the east coast? Not sure. In any case, for $3 a pop, (for Happy Hour, that's an insane price - but we knew that when we ordered, so that part is on us). With that, we were hoping for a decent bunch of oysters. Not the case, to the point we left two on the plate. Note, the oysters were barely shucked, so you had to completely remove the oyster from the shell yourself prior to endulging. It's like the chef started the process, then just gave up. One oyster had the amount of meat the size of a dime. And that's being overly generous. Our waitress seemed unlhased when we mentioned the barely existent oyster & said, "they're small, they're east coast oysters" - I'm sure that comment is on repeat. Aside from the oyster situation, there wasn't anything particularly wrong with Earl's. In my opinion, it's just... extremely mediocre & underwhelming. read more
