Last Friday we decided for dinner on Las Olas. We chose @Earls Kitchen + Bar The hostess stand were run by a boy and a girl. We were told a 15 to 20 minutes wait, so we sat at the bar and had a drink. My girlfriend, a teacher, was excited to come here as many of her collegues had been talking about it. A younger then us crowd, very lively and a good looking menu. But after 40 minutes we were getting anxious for food, and we noticed that many people after us got seated. I asked the two at the hostess stand where we were on the list, and could see our name as the next to be seated. However, another few couples got their tables before us. When we finally challenged a few staff, they start sending us upstairs, with the promise of inside availability. The two at the hostess stand shrugged their shoulders and waved us off like they didn't know what happened. But upstairs was full and nothing again available for us. When we cam back downstairs and asked what happened the two smugly said we can go somewhere else, as they were busy, with no one in line behind us. This is the treatment attitude of two that will make your dinner a nasty experience. We tried in good faith to have dinner here, but apparently the screening is done at the hostess stand. We took our business elsewhere, we are quite familiar with great dining on Las Olas. This is certainly NOT one of them. read more

Happy Hour at Earl's Kitchen + Bar was a lovely way to celebrate my friend's birthday. The dining area is spacious with two floors. We sat at the bar with the World Cup playing. Our bartender was friendly and offered recommendations. My friend and I shared the birria tacos, Szechuan shrimp + pork dumplings & truffle fries. The dumplings were the star of the show! They were so flavorful & succulent. The birria tacos left something to be desired; a bit salty and resembled a birria quesadilla more than a taco. I had such an amazing experience at Earl's! I came in with a party of six for a bridesmaid proposal dinner with my girls. From start to finish, the service was incredible. Every staff member we encountered was so kind and welcoming. Paige, the Guest Experience Manager, went above and beyond by creating a custom table sign and surprising us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate my milestone. The GM, Eddie, also stopped by to wish us well, which made the experience feel so personal. Our server, Keilani, was an absolute sweetheart and made sure we had everything we needed. She constantly checked on us, double checked things and knew the menu well. The food was delicious! The Shrimp & Scallop Spaghetti was cheesy, pesto goodness. The corn & avocado dip was our favorite starter. The Lychetini was unique with subtle floral notes. I waited a few days before writing this review because I've been in a full blown relationship conflict with Earl's Kitchen + Bar. On one hand, this place is gorgeous. Like "let's take pictures before we eat because this patio belongs in a lifestyle magazine" gorgeous. Las Olas energy at its finest. The outdoor seating is fantastic, the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy, and honestly, the food was outstanding. Which is why this hurts. We came for Mother's Day brunch and intentionally avoided rushing over for happy hour pricing because we wanted a relaxed meal. Adult decision. Responsible. Mature. Mistake number one apparently. Started with the charred corn and avocado dip and I need whoever created that dish to be recognized with some sort of civic award. Ridiculously good. One of those appetizers where you immediately start calculating whether licking the bowl in public is socially acceptable. Then came the steak and eggs discussion. My wife and I were both looking at the steak and eggs listed on the menu for $26.75. Our waiter explained that the standard steak was only four ounces and casually suggested upgrading to a six ounce or eight ounce cut instead. Now listen carefully because this is where the plot twists into a financial thriller. At no point during this conversation was pricing for the upgrade mentioned. And shame on me for not asking. That part is absolutely on me. But the suggestion was delivered with the same casual energy as "would you like fries with that?" So I upgraded to the eight ounce. My wife went with the six ounce. She also had a margarita she loved. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed and, as it turns out, accidentally entering a luxury cattle futures market. Then the handheld payment machine arrived. $175. I stared at that screen like it had just informed me my mortgage was due immediately. Turns out those extra six ounces of sirloin between the two plates carried an upcharge that could finance a small fishing boat. Roughly ten dollars an ounce for the upgrade. Somewhere, a Wagyu cow laughed at me from a distance. And look, before anybody jumps in, yes... I should have asked. Lesson learned. But restaurants also know exactly what they're doing when upgrade pricing gets floated around casually without numbers attached. There's a difference between upselling and a sneak attack. Which makes this review frustrating because I genuinely loved almost everything else. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic. Service was friendly. But nothing tanks the ending of a brunch quite like feeling blindsided by steak math. Pro tip for future diners: If they suggest the upgraded steak, ask the price immediately. Ask twice. Possibly get it notarized. Three stars because I really do want to come back someday. But right now I still feel like I got hit with a reverse happy hour. read more

Came here Saturday night with a friend during peak hours and it was packed, about an hour wait, but we were able to grab seats at the bar right away, which worked out perfectly. We started with a passion fruit martini and the mango smoke show margarita, both were so good. For appetizers, we had the sticky Korean ribs and Szechuan shrimp & pork dumplings, and honestly... incredible. Tons of flavor with just the right amount of spice. Pricing was around $14-$20, but portions were solid so no complaints there. We split the carne tacos (comes with two plus chips and salsa). Heads up, the chips and tacos both have a spicy kick, but everything was super flavorful. The steak was cooked medium rare and I don't usually go for that, but it was actually so good. Dessert was the crème brûlée lava cake with strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate drizzle...rich, indulgent, and the perfect way to end the night. Total came out to about $150 with tip, so $75 each. Great for a date night or a fun night out. Service was on point, plenty of bartenders, and the ambiance is really cute with great music. Earl's has a great vibe on Los Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Ambiance is beautiful. We are on the rooftop and the bar is stunning. The service was really good and the food was even better. We had a few burgers, corn and avocado dip, spicy Calabrese pasta and the tortellini. I tried everyone's meal and I was really impressed with the consistency of quality in each dish. My favorite was the tortellini. What could be a basic dish was made fresh with lemon zest and a light cream sauce. The cocktails were on point too. Earls is always a great time With great food. We love to brunch here on their patio on the 2nd floor. The service is always awesome with Mo at the helm. And the food is always excellent. Stopped by this spot on our last day in Florida after an eventful F1 weekend. Needless to say we came to the perfect place. Started off with some drinks, a whiskey sour and a Bellini Margarita. Both tasted great! As far as appetizers go, we started off with the Yuzu calamari, perfectly fried and extremely flavorful. For the Entrees we ordered the Baja style tacos to share and each got the steak and sushi. Went with the crispy spicy salmon and crispy spicy tuna to pair with the steak. Whatever sauce was used with the steak was phenomenal! I came here with 2 friends for happy hour. They have a great mocktail menu, with six different drinks to choose from. I really appreciated this as I'm not drinking alcohol and I dont drink soda & juices. I had the sparkling lemonade with lots of mint, which was perfectly sweetened, not over sweetened. My friend had the bitters, orange and passionfruit with sparkling water mocktail, which she loved. Our other friend had a glass of wine and the happy hour 4oz. I'll start with the good. I love their roasted corn and avocado dip/guac. That is the reason I will come back here. I have been here a couple of times for both food and drinks. The food has been lackluster. In the past, I've had the California roll and it was not good. There was too much rice and it was very mushy. I had nice tuna tataki but it is not worth it for the price... at all. The drinks are good, nothing mind blowing. I had the guava drink and it was ok. The margarita is very basic, so it's alright but nothing to come back here for per se. The potstickers are pretty good as well. The service here is very attentive. The ambiance is also why I would come back. It is beautiful and the vibe works for a fun setting or a more serious/conversational one. Decided to try this spot after a show at the Broward Center. Their full menu is available late night which is a huge plus. The hostess was very friendly and quickly seated us even though the place was pretty busy at 10:45pm on a Thursday night. The server was just as friendly and on point the entire night. Another bonus, their happy hour is 10pm until closing time (1am). I got the Earl's old fashioned and it was tasty. We got their maple glazed tomahawk pork chop and the Korean beef bibimbap for our entrees. The kurobuta pork chop was HUGE! A very impressive presentation and it was cooked perfectly. Tender, lean and juicy! It came with a bacon jam on top, mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe, and a spicy peppercorn jus. The bibimbap came in a huge bowl that was super hot. The server said to pour the desired amount of gochujang sauce, that's served on the side, and mix the bowl well with two huge spoons that come with it. The concept is that the rice on the bottom becomes crispy from the heat and will likely burn if you don't mix it (like I said the bowl was super heated). This was a delicious experience if you like crispy rice. The entire time I ate the rice more parts became crispy from sitting on the bottom. The ingredients in the bowl were just as tasty! Kimchi, carrots, tender beef, ginger soy mushrooms, broccoli rabe pieces, and a soft egg! The rooftop part was closed when we got there due to a private party. I was able to go up and take a look and it's a place I want to go back to next time we are down there. This place has a very relaxing and modern vibe with great food, drinks, and service. read more

Came here for dine out Fort Lauderdale around 6 pm. We made reservations since we were a large party. The place is cutely decorated with a rooftop dining space. The main dining area is more family oriented. The roof top seems more relaxing and calm. Looks like a great spot for a stress relieving lunch. We ordered from the dine out Fort Lauderdale 3 course menu. It comes with an appetizer, main, and dessert. The appetizers are 1/2 size appetizers. The mains appear to be full size portions. And dessert is a choice of a chocolate lava cake with ice cream or a cheesecake slice. The steak was lacking a bit of the steak flavor. It was otherwise tender and cooked to my liking. The truffle tortellini was missing the truffle flavor but the blackened shrimp was excellent. Both desserts were delicious but the cheesecake is likely to be one of the best cheese cakes I've ever had. My aperol spritz was delicious with a unique refreshing flavor. They also have a verbal kids menu with the typical kids favorite items for about $10- $13. Would love to come back for lunch and dine up in the rooftop. read more

And I paired it with the crispy sushi roll, which had a burst of incredible flavor. The calamari was nice and crispy topped with jalapeño and fresh cucumber. The food here is so good and you can't beat the happy hour deals. My husband and I really enjoyed the martini Monday special. Every time we come here for happy hour we get a lot of food and try a little bit of everything. There is a metered parking lot next to the restaurant for easy parking. They offered the full menu but I ordered off of the brunch menu which offered unlimited cocktails for $25.
