I've been to Earls a few times before for both happy hour and dinner, but this was my first time trying their Dine Out menu and everything was delicious. Started with the ribs, which were sweet with just a little bit of spice. For my main, I had the spicy Calabrian pasta with chorizo sausage. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and had just enough of a kick without being too spicy. I finished with the sticky toffee chocolate pudding for dessert, which was really good and definitely a great way to end the meal. I really enjoyed the Dine Out menu because it gives you a chance to try and sample several different items instead of just ordering one or two things. It was $45 for dinner for the entire 3 course. I'm very familiar with Earl's Miami Worldcenter location so I was excited to see how Las Olas compared. Stopped by on a Saturday evening and the upstairs bar was very busy. The bartenders advised that Friday evenings were even better for networking. We ended up getting a few drinks and I was looking to eat something light so I went with the chicken fingers which hit the spot. The rest of my party enjoyed their martinis and small bites as well, but I don't remember what exactly they ordered. There were plenty of bartenders so service at the bar was fast and very attentive. I had such an amazing experience at Earl's! I came in with a party of six for a bridesmaid proposal dinner with my girls. From start to finish, the service was incredible. Every staff member we encountered was so kind and welcoming. Paige, the Guest Experience Manager, went above and beyond by creating a custom table sign and surprising us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate my milestone. I waited a few days before writing this review because I've been in a full blown relationship conflict with Earl's Kitchen + Bar. On one hand, this place is gorgeous. Like "let's take pictures before we eat because this patio belongs in a lifestyle magazine" gorgeous. Las Olas energy at its finest. The outdoor seating is fantastic, the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy, and honestly, the food was outstanding. Which is why this hurts. We came for Mother's Day brunch and intentionally avoided rushing over for happy hour pricing because we wanted a relaxed meal. Adult decision. Responsible. Mature. Mistake number one apparently. Started with the charred corn and avocado dip and I need whoever created that dish to be recognized with some sort of civic award. Ridiculously good. One of those appetizers where you immediately start calculating whether licking the bowl in public is socially acceptable. Then came the steak and eggs discussion. My wife and I were both looking at the steak and eggs listed on the menu for $26.75. Our waiter explained that the standard steak was only four ounces and casually suggested upgrading to a six ounce or eight ounce cut instead. Now listen carefully because this is where the plot twists into a financial thriller. At no point during this conversation was pricing for the upgrade mentioned. And shame on me for not asking. That part is absolutely on me. But the suggestion was delivered with the same casual energy as "would you like fries with that?" So I upgraded to the eight ounce. My wife went with the six ounce. She also had a margarita she loved. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed and, as it turns out, accidentally entering a luxury cattle futures market. Then the handheld payment machine arrived. $175. I stared at that screen like it had just informed me my mortgage was due immediately. Turns out those extra six ounces of sirloin between the two plates carried an upcharge that could finance a small fishing boat. Roughly ten dollars an ounce for the upgrade. Somewhere, a Wagyu cow laughed at me from a distance. And look, before anybody jumps in, yes... I should have asked. Lesson learned. But restaurants also know exactly what they're doing when upgrade pricing gets floated around casually without numbers attached. There's a difference between upselling and a sneak attack. Which makes this review frustrating because I genuinely loved almost everything else. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic. Service was friendly. But nothing tanks the ending of a brunch quite like feeling blindsided by steak math. Pro tip for future diners: If they suggest the upgraded steak, ask the price immediately. Ask twice. Possibly get it notarized. Three stars because I really do want to come back someday. But right now I still feel like I got hit with a reverse happy hour. read more

I went to Earls Kitchen + Bar restaurant on August 3rd to see my former college friends (three women). I hadn't seen one of them in years, so it was good seeing her again. I was the first to arrive at the restaurant. There are no stairs entering the restaurant. We sat behind the host stand. The ambiance of the restaurant was bamboo, boho style, with plants throughout the restaurant. The restaurant does have an upper level which has another bar and restrooms. I do hate that there are no restrooms on the first floor; you have to take the elevator to the second floor for the restrooms. At Earls Kitchen + Bar on the 2nd floor, they only allow customers to sit in the patio area during dinner time. The women's restroom is very spacious; it was clean during my time there, and most importantly, I loved the lighting in the restroom. Now, on to the food. One of my friends ordered sushi, another ordered nachos, and we all had cocktails since on Mondays margaritas and martinis are half off. I ordered the Don Julio Margarita, and I had a total of three of those drinks. That Don Julio Margarita was bomb and made just right. For lunch, I ordered the shrimp + scallop spaghettini that came out so dry since it didn't have basil almond pesto, roasted tomatoes, cilantro, or parmesan in it. Now, Server Geraldina should have informed me that if I didn't want that on the shrimp + scallop spaghettini, it would come out dry, because then I would have chosen a different meal. I do remember the server having a thick accent; sometimes it was hard to understand her, but overall, Geraldina did a fabulous job serving my table. We started with a passion fruit martini and the mango smoke show margarita, both were so good. Dessert was the crème brûlée lava cake with strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate drizzle...rich, indulgent, and the perfect way to end the night. Decided to try this spot after a show at the Broward Center. Their full menu is available late night which is a huge plus. The hostess was very friendly and quickly seated us even though the place was pretty busy at 10:45pm on a Thursday night. The server was just as friendly and on point the entire night. Another bonus, their happy hour is 10pm until closing time (1am). I got the Earl's old fashioned and it was tasty. We got their maple glazed tomahawk pork chop and the Korean beef bibimbap for our entrees. The kurobuta pork chop was HUGE! A very impressive presentation and it was cooked perfectly. Tender, lean and juicy! It came with a bacon jam on top, mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe, and a spicy peppercorn jus. The bibimbap came in a huge bowl that was super hot. The server said to pour the desired amount of gochujang sauce, that's served on the side, and mix the bowl well with two huge spoons that come with it. The concept is that the rice on the bottom becomes crispy from the heat and will likely burn if you don't mix it (like I said the bowl was super heated). This was a delicious experience if you like crispy rice. The entire time I ate the rice more parts became crispy from sitting on the bottom. The ingredients in the bowl were just as tasty! Kimchi, carrots, tender beef, ginger soy mushrooms, broccoli rabe pieces, and a soft egg! The rooftop part was closed when we got there due to a private party. The main dining area is more family oriented. The roof top seems more relaxing and calm. Looks like a great spot for a stress relieving lunch. We ordered from the dine out Fort Lauderdale 3 course menu. It comes with an appetizer, main, and dessert. The appetizers are 1/2 size appetizers. The mains appear to be full size portions. And dessert is a choice of a chocolate lava cake with ice cream or a cheesecake slice. The steak was lacking a bit of the steak flavor. It was otherwise tender and cooked to my liking. The truffle tortellini was missing the truffle flavor but the blackened shrimp was excellent. Both desserts were delicious but the cheesecake is likely to be one of the best cheese cakes I've ever had. My aperol spritz was delicious with a unique refreshing flavor.
