First time having primos hoagies. It was okay. Average sandwiches. Sometimes I just crave an Italian sandwich and this one filled my craving.

This is a crusher! Cracked Peppered turkey, Cooper sharp and pepper shooters. Soo good!

Ordered a Suprimo sandwich and substituted the roasted peppers for lettuce. This one had Prosciutto, fresh Mozzarella and lettuce as requested. I put my own balsamic glaze on this once I got it home. Fresh and delicious!

Second time having Primo's and it was pretty good! Went with a Groupon which made it a decent value. Store was quiet and it looked like they didn't do much business! Ordered some kind of Italian sandwich, which was pretty good. Would definitely go back with another Groupon! Check it out!

Came across this place on my way to AC. Far exceeded expectations. Solid sandwich and the sub roll was top notch. Can't wait to come back.

Since we are talking about five years since my last review I am guessing the "leave them alone so that they can talk" philosophy of restaurant service is an institutional policy. Frankly, the service was better than the 2017 review but please we should not have to leave the table and walk into another area of the restaurant to find our server to ask to have our water glasses refilled. And, the kid from the land of the dead whom I at first thought was a customer lost attempting to find his parents was actually an employee. Someone at my table suggested I ask him for a refill of the water as he slowly walked by in a half stupor but I said "If he worked here he'd at least remove the completed soup bowls from our table (They remained until the entire meal was finished.)." I discovered later when he returned to clean a table top that he actually was an employee who might have been trained to notice diners in need of water or he could have actually said "Good evening, I have noticed your water glasses have nothing in them ... might I refill them for you?" But, then again perhaps its institutional policy. Having gotten that out of the way I have to say I was very impressed by the new entranceway, which replaced the old wooden railings that I remember front he splinters in my hand. It is a very attractive entrance and as always, noted in my prior review, you are greeted warmly and feel very welcome as you walk into this very attractive restaurant. The menu has changed since we were last here. We all agreed that it appears to have been reduced in offerings and in variety but that did not stop us from finding something. Clearly when you see the four stars and if you have reached this point of the review you have noted negatives but yet 4 stars. The food is delicious and well conceived! We didn't get anything extravagant but the French Onion Soup was truly special both visually and more importantly its blend of flavors along with the nice presence of perfectly cooked onions made those who ordered the soup very happy campers (Ok,, that's a phrase ... we are not camping out in the winter.). The sandwich was accompanied by some of the best "chips" we have ever had (All too often restaurants in their attempt to save money rather than offering French fries created chips that are burnt, overly salted or otherwise inedible.) and we all were reaching over to make sure not a speck was left. I ordered the Sweet Chili Signature Chicken Salad (Romanelli's has always been known for their awesome salads!), which was perfect for me but .... If you don't like Asian-style chili garlic sauce be forewarned that this salad's going to do more than tingle your tongue ... you are going to need water to cool it down and you already read about the lack of water refills. The chicken was perfectly cooked ... the croutons had me searching for more, and the blend of flavors made this a fantastic filling meal but .... As we left and I talked about the "heat" of my salad someone asked "Where was the bread or the rolls with dinner?" Where indeed was the bread basket that one used to receive as a guest at Romanelli's? Yes, COVID and increased costs have forced restaurants to save dollars wherever they could but we had folks with soup and me with a salad so a small dinner roll or a nice piece of bread would have been perfect but alas no bread. The menu features all those fabulous omelettes that make Romanelli's a great stop for breakfast (I wonder if you get toast or coffee refills.)! And, I am sure we will be back but next time I might ask that the water pitcher be left on the table when ordering so that the server will realize that many people need more than one glass of water with their meal especially if the water is their choice of beverage for the evening, afternoon, or morning.

When it was first advertised on Instagram, my friend made a reservation. However, when we arrived the staff were confused and overwhelmed by the big turnout and made no effort to assist us promptly. They sat us inside since the patio tables were already taken, and we waited 15-20 minutes for someone to take our order. The ambiance was casual and the noise level was very loud. They have a bar on the main level and the place just looks like a casual pizza joint. The patio seats looked more appealing and I found out after we left that they were doing a giveaway which we weren't included in. The girl dinner menu options were very basic with no meat or seafood options. I probably should've ordered off of the regular menu. I started out with an espresso martini which was okay, not the best and not the worst. Next I had a Caesar salad that was drowning in dressing that was too creamy and rich for me. The cheese pizza had a nice dough but the marinara and cheese were below average. I've had better pizza from a gas station, but I was starving since I'd already been there for 45 minutes. My friend only ate one slice of hers. I suppose we got what we paid for since it was only $25 per person. By the time we got our checks and were ready to go check out the book store, there were very few options left. If it weren't for the great company and the chance to check out Austen's Shelf, this night would've been very disappointing.

So glad that we did because it was excellent with great staff. We all really enjoyed the food. I loved my crab cake sandwich. It was so moist and flavorful. My husband loved his turkey platter. The gravy was delicious and the turkey was moist. My father in law enjoyed his burger. It was a good menu and tight in the middle of the cute little town. Would love to go back and try other things.

Served quickly and hot in a big, wide bowl. It looked good. Had small, irregularly sized potatoes and chopped carrots. The broth was a little thicker than I imagined or had tasted before in other restaurants, or in the one I make. Clams were tiny and, as you'd expect from a can. Not fresh clams. In fact, you can put all the clams found in chowder in a single tablespoon. Even found a whole bay leaf in it, which should have been removed before serving it. So, how is the chowder? I've had better from canned chowder, and the one I make is way better. Zero stars for the chowder. Next up is the Turkey platter with sliced turkey (hard and dry), 1 ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes (ok, nothing special), 1 ice cream scoop of stuffing (totally disgusting, and had corn in it), string beans (with vine still attached), gravy (terrible), and a little cup of cranberries (decent). Total fail. The waitress was ok, though stopping by every 5 minutes to ask if everything was good was quite annoying. The 'ice water gentleman' was great. You never asked for water, and when the glass was 1/2 empty, he was there refilling it. Great job! The final score of 2 stars is for the historic inn's ambiance and layout. We won't be back, and do not recommend.
