Sandwich is worse than gas station. Old veggies. Not worth the price!!! You're better off making an Italian sub at home . Wrappers say voted beat sandwich in USA ... that's not possible

There is a combination of four tops and booths in the main dining room and a bar and additional tables in another room. Service - Very Good. Our server was helpful and attentive. Food - Good. I ordered the soup of the day that the server described as being clam chowder with a tomato sauce. The soup had a nice flavor, but it was loaded tons of vegetables and little clams. For my entree was Veal Romano with a side of pasta. The pasta was very good! However the veal was covered by an incredible amount of breading and as a result was on the bland size. Overall Value - Good, not great. The prices a very reasonable and the portion sizes generous. Perhaps had I had ordered different items, I might find myself extolling the restaurant's virtues.

Our server was quick to take our drink order and tell us about the specials. The menu has a nice variety of appetizers, salads, meat and pasta dishes. I settled on the lasagna which was a special and got the Manhattan clam chowder soup as it's something I rarely see on a menu. We were brought a basket of fresh Italian bread which was wonderful. The soup arrived and it wasn't what I expected. The broth was thin, very little clam and just very different than I have ever had. Not my favorite. My lasagna arrived looking great. I love sauce and there was lots of extra sauce on the plate. The biggest problem I had was that it was barely warm. Granted, the restaurant itself was very cold, but the food could have been hot which would have made it spectacular. Service was very good and atmosphere was pleasant.

Waitress came over and quickly took our drink order and was fairly attentive. We ordered the pretzels from the happy hour menu which were tasty. My wife had the fish and chips, I had the French dip with fresh cut fries. My wife enjoyed her fish and chips. My fries were good but my sandwich was dry. There is a very extensive menu. I wasn't blown away with my visit but I would definitely try something else if I returned. This is a quintessential neighborhood bar with a lot of locals.

I wanted something simple like a sandwich for dinner and didn't really want to go to a fast food or chain restaurant. I saw that Tavern in the Hills had good reviews and decided to stop in. There was a decent crowd for a random Wednesday night, including a small gathering for someone's birthday. I arrived about an hour before the kitchen closed and the bartender/server made sure I knew I had to order pretty quickly to ensure I got my food. I appreciated that there were a decent amount of pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan options, which you normally don't find at a small town restaurant. I wanted fish, fries, and a salad (for health). I wanted to order the fish sandwich (broiled) with both as sides, but the server recommended I get the dinner plate instead as it would be cheaper than paying for the second side. I still got it as a sandwich, but didn't realize I'd be charged extra for the roll. I got the salad right away which I decided to hold onto until I had my meal. My fish came out soon thereafter. I was a bit disappointed that the sandwich was just the broiled fish on the roll, no sauce or anything. I spread the tartar sauce I requested on the bread so it would have extra flavor. The fish was decent: it was surprisingly very fishy. I'm not sure if the seasoning blend was off for my palate or what but it just wasn't really my cuppa. I enjoyed the fries, they were well made. One thing I noted is that all the seating in the front is at high tops. There is a room toward the back with regular seating but it seemed like that was more of a special event space and not the regular dining section, which isn't helpful for accessibility.

The atmosphere is…read morea little antiquated, and reminds you of a 1960's trophy room, with all of the game on the walls and the old wallpaper. But, don't get me wrong--it has it's own vibe and we love it. Our go to here is the Apricot Chicken, one of the best things you'll ever taste. They usually have very good specials, and we've not had one thing we didn't love. If I had to give a negative, the only thing I would caution on is anything with the red sauce (like chicken parm, or things like that)--it's more of one of those acidic, tomato-y sauces, and it's not something I prefer. Some people love that style though, it's just not for me. I definitely suggest that you watch out for their Turkey Dinner special, they usually have it once a month. It's honestly amazing. Try their creme brulee, too, for dessert. YUMMMM. Don't skip out on their bread that you get with your dinners. Awesome home made bread with some type of awesome honey butter (or something) on top. YUM! They have the ABSOLUTE best French Onion Soup my family has ever had. And that is saying something--we like to think of ourselves as FOS connoisseurs. You cannot go here and not try it--it would be a mortal sin to miss out on it! Have always had good service, and we can't speak higher of everyone who works there. The host is always awesome, and does their best to get you in if they can. Highly recommend you getting a reservation if you plan on going, it's not terribly large, and it fills up.

The only thing I don't like are the fries. Even with an up charge they would not let me substitute a salad. The fries always seem to be over cooked. Once I returned them twice and then just gave up. Everything else is excellent. Highly recommend the French onion soup .
