    The Primo Pilgrim
    Jenny S.

Thanksgiving came early at Primo Hoagies, and the Primo Pilgrim might just be my new favorite! It has fresh turkey, mayo, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. It's like the perfect Thanksgiving bite in sandwich form. I never really understood the cranberry thing at Thanksgiving dinner, but now I totally get it! Pair it with their crispy chips and one of their desserts like dirt cake or rice pudding for the ultimate comfort meal. If you're craving a fresh, authentic sandwich that tastes like the holidays, this is the one. Service was great and we got our food quick. Great to pick up and take to go or dine in. Relaxed environment.

    Very hard bread.

The bread was so hard. I couldn't eat it. I scrapped everything out and ate my stuff out of a bowl.

If you're looking for authentic gabagool, these folks have all 3 kinds! With killer meats, these Italian sandwiches are done right. The veggies are perfect, the sandwiches constructed with love. Don't bother with the Small, go for the special Primo roll and enjoy it as it was meant to be. I loved my Mild Sharp Italian, and hubby said his Italian had a nice spice that lingered. I told him it was the Spicy Gabagool! The macaroni salad was twangy and saucy. I am pretty snobby about macaroni salad and I would eat this again. I got the dirt pudding for dessert but we haven't tried it yet. The sandwiches are where it's at, and I want another delivery right now! I have my eye on the Philly with broccoli rabe. Yum!

Friday night and in town visiting with family. We were debating going somewhere to eat but decided to stay home and order in. We decided to try PrimoHoagies and used Grubhub to place our order. Got a sharp Italian with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, oil and vinegar and got peppers and pickles on the side. The sandwich was just okay. I had to add extra vinegar and I put some oregano and pepper on it just to add some flavor. My first few bites without my added seasoning were pretty blah. I only ate half. I can tell they use decent ingredients but their sandwiches aren't for me. Maybe ordering and eating at the restaurant makes a difference? Not sure. They added some coupons to the bag but to be honest they probably won't be used.

Worst food I've ordered, this business is so slide of hand. 6" subs and "primo" subs. What they don't tell you is their slide of hand BS the "primo sub is 9" and $15.00 for NOTHING!!! This is the Philly All damn bread.. shrink-Flation at its finest. Remember $15 for this disaster.

Just bad. No kids menu and the small sub was $9, $60 for 2 adults and a kid...for lunch. Why?? They couldn't toast the cheese sandwich bc it wasn't a hot sandwich, the chip bags were lacking for sure, weird choices. For a first time, it was terrible and we will not be back, ever. Such a disappointment.

Super excited to have a new sub place in town. I love a good sub! I'm a sub girl through and through! We stopped for a late lunch on Saturday. We have never visited a Primo's before. We walked in and it is very small. Right away I noticed the huge menu at the counter with so many items to choose from. There was an employee standing at the register but she did not greet us or ask us if we needed help or have any suggestions. It would of been nice since we were new. But, I chose the Italian and it didn't disappoint. I was a bit surprised at the size. I ordered the small and it was small. Compared to other local sub shops it seemed smaller. I did like the thin sliced meat. The toppings were all very fresh. The bread was very good. But, I was hoping for the bread with the seeds that I saw pictures everywhere. Not sure if you have to request that? You purchase the chips and drink separately. I love how all the chips are Herr's. Those aren't easy to find down here in the South. There is only four small tables to eat inside. Something to keep in mind if your coming with a group or a large family. They do have online ordering and catering. I want to try the coleslaw and the pepper shooters next time!

This time we climbed to the second floor to find a table at what I would describe as the most inviting bar in the South due to the eclectic decor and the appearance of the bar itself with dozens of upside down bottles hanging from the ceiling that at first I thought they were there just to decorate the place but nooo! they actually poured the specialty bourbon we ordered which BTW was very good and was only 90 proof which was a very nice match to my Yingling, we spent about two hours there and not because the service was slow but because we were having a good time, at times was a little loud but my out of town friends truly enjoyed the kind of place, they said that next time they come to town they would like to come back to the very same table. The conversation and good times is what kept me from taking a picture of the dishes I ordered the Cajun Pasta, was absolutely delicious and will order again the next time I go back, wife ordered the Pecan pork chops and said it was made with her cravings in mind I won't be waiting for out of towners to come in order to go back, this has become my most trusted and preferred Southern restaurant in Chucktown/Summerville area, no questions and way better than any distant second best that we have been, make it 8 stars! I recommend making a reservation. We did not but Ms. Myles graciously accommodated our table for 2. A few hours prior we checked and reservations were wide open, but by the time we got there, they were pretty booked. The staff is wonderful and the food is made with care. Simply delicious! We began with a cup of their clear broth that was light and flavorful and cleansed our palettes for the grilled meats to come. At the suggestion of Ms. Myles, we had the Crispy Pork for an appetizer. Nice and crisp pieces of pork whose fat was properly rendered back into the meat. A lot of places miss this important step. It was served with a luscious white sauce and lightly vinegared hot sauce. Then we went right into their specialty- Yakitori We had one of each of the following: Momo- chicken Thigh Chicken Tenderloin with Yuzu Honey Glaze Australian Wagyu Beef- they offer American Wagyu, and A5 Japanese Kobe as well Bacon Wrapped Crab- high quality Crab stick wrapped in bacon..this was a standout for me.
