I've been here four times now and can honestly say that the food is terrible. 2nd worst Al Pastor Tacos (my fave and go-to) I've ever had and the Chicken Enchiladas were inedible - their enchilada sauce is disgusting, but scrape it off and you find that the chicken inside is completely unseasoned with some pretty questionable chunks of meat. The only food I've enjoyed here was the chips and queso and the nachos. The House Margaritas are drinkable (i.e. not great) and only $4 during happy hour. Also, keep a very close eye on your bill. Twice now I've been over charged and once I didn't notice until after they ran my card. The waitress said she adjusted it and gave me a receipt showing a credit, but the credit never hit my account, and I had to file a dispute with my bank. read more

We went in last night at 9:15, they close at 10. In the front there were girls sweeping up and told us to sit wherever we'd like. We sat in a booth near where others were sitting. We sat for a few mins before a young guy walks out, no hello, no welcome just if you guys don't order with in 10 mins our kitchen is going to close. We were there 45 mins our s before close but this rude lil man in a baseball hat got his feelings hurt? We got up and walked out. We had a late dinner with friends at Primo's. It had come highly recommended so we gave it a try. It was quiet and slow while we were there. There were a few folks sitting and eating and a few more at the bar. It did not impress us. Our waitress was young and lackluster with her service. After we ate, we sat and talked for a bit; however, nobody came and cleared our table, so we had to ask. This is a pet peeve of mine. Now on to the food. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. Some items came out colder than thay should have. I remember coming to this building when it was Petro's, they made some nice updates but has the same great feel as it used to. We ordered the queso and chips, as well as two meals, it was more than enough food. I got the chicken flautas which you choose two sides, I went with the street corn and frijoles charros. The flautas were crispy filled with chicken and came covered with sour cream and guacamole, delicious! The street corn was yummy and creamy. My fiancé had the chimichanga, it was massive! Extremely Disappointed with My Recent Order I wanted to share how disappointed I am with my recent experience at Primos. I went to lunch today and decided to order from Primos again because the first time I tried it, I was highly impressed--everything was cooked to perfection. I even told myself that when I got paid, I'd treat myself and order again. Unfortunately, this time was completely different. I ordered the exact same items as before: a Queso Birria and an Emilio Burrito. When I received my order, everything was cold. The Queso Birria was soggy, the street corn was overly grilled, and the Emilio Burrito was noticeably smaller than before--with the sour cream missing entirely. My order was ready for pickup at 12:30, I arrived at 12:33 and didn't receive my food until around 12:38. I called to address the issue, but as I'm writing this, I've been on hold for over 15 minutes. When I finally spoke with a staff member, I was told there was nothing that could be done if i didn't have the food. i had to warm it up dued to me being at work at cant take another lunch break and I explained that I was at work and couldn't leave again, but the response was still dismissive. This experience was extremely disappointing, especially after such a great first impression. I had been recommending Primos to others, but after today, I truly regret doing so. I just love the outdoor seating area. Plenty of space that you can reserve. Getting there is made easy by a dedicated parking lot and HC access. Special lunch menu available daily until 2 PM. Allows for a smaller portions that are probably sized for what we should be eating - all at a fantastic price. Service is great. If you sit outside in the middle of the afternoon, you may have to go and let them know when you need something but it's pretty laid-back. I've been here now, three times in the span of a month and see myself as a regular at this location Food is delicious and I just love their street corn side. read more

we walked down to the restaurant as we like to do in the summer. made it to the hostess desk by 5:50. Waited for the staff to prepare a table for 8 ahead of us in an otherwise fairly empty restaurant. Got seated around 6 and requested happy hour drinks as we had been in the restaurant for over 10 minutes. Our server quickly stated that she couldn't do anything for us. I pointed out the fact we had waited for a table in a restaurant full of empty tables. She stated that there were a lot of customers outside. At that point I realized customer service was not a priority and said we were leaving. As we left we saw that there was a single table of 5 outside. Luckily we have lots of dining options in our neighborhood where you can get both good food and good service. Fernando's will be our future choice for Mexican food. read more

Sunday funday right? For some reason just the thought of a patio with some chips, salsa and guacamole sounded right up our alley. Swung by Primo's and shared some, along with some kick-ass shrimp fajitas, tacos michoacán, watermelon candy shot, and Dos Equis (on tap!). ALL of it was superb! I usually tack on a chile relleno al la cart but I was committed to the fajitas. Looking for a great place to smash some chips and salsa with a great outdoor patio, I'd definitely give Primo's some thought before you head west. Primo's was one of our favorites when we lived in Council Bluffs, and now having one in Omaha is great! This has been here for a while now but my first time dining in for a meal. We were super impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant and the speed of service over lunch, despite a big rush after we sat down. Everything came out fast, hot, and very large portions! I tried their chicken enchilada and taco lunch special. It's a great deal with 2 sides included. Highly recommend the fried taco shell! Super crunchy and flavorful with the beef. Their street corn side is also big on flavor and not super spicy. I'd recommend coming here anytime for great Mexican food and great service! read more

We waited too long to visit this relatively new restaurant in the neighborhood. Located in the former Petrow's building, we were glad to hear the geothermal heating/cooling system is still in use and working well. They've added a large circular bar to the back/north end of the space, with TVs which I'm guessing are usually tuned to sports. Fun fact: they serve both Coke AND Pepsi. But the food - it's amazing. We tried a lunch combo with enchilada and fried-shell taco and it was soooo good! We also had a torte with fries, and I feel awkward saying this about a Mexican restaurant but - the hand cut fries alone are worth a visit!! We took home have the sandwich and enchilada and are already dickering about how we plan to share them Next time I hope to get there for breakfast - it looks amazing! read more

BOGO coupon ONLY good for lunch. Burrito = rice & bean sides are INSIDE burrito (you don't get two sides if ordering) but the menu doesn't say that. The BOGO coupon does not specify it is only for lunch. There is also a sign inside the restaurant indicating they are open on Mondays; they are not. I don't know if they are lazy or ambivolent or don't pay attention to details but whomever is in charge of their advertising needs to do better. Very frustrating visit. Server was fine. Food was over priced for the quality. We ordered a house margarita and upgraded the tequila used in the house margarita to one that was $3 more. When the bill arrived each margarita was over twice that price ($6 to $14!). When we questioned the staff about the price they were unwilling to budge, no manager was present to talk with about this. Today Bookguy and I had lunch at Primos again. I wanted a salad and Bookguy decided to eat light, real light. As in single beef taco light. He finished his taco in under 5 minutes, but there were the complimentary chips and salsa to fill in the empty spots. I had one of the most amazing salads ever, plainly called the Midwest salad. I had suggested it to him but he only likes iceberg lettuce. The romaine and spinach did not appeal. Add bell peppers, black beans, corn, avocado slices, tortilla strips, and cilantro lime dressing for a winning combination. As he watched me chow down, Bookguy decided he would like to try it, so I served up a few forkfuls on his taco wrapper. I couldn't believe it when he wanted more. It was a two meal salad, so I gave him the rest. He enjoyed it so much he wants to come back and get one for himself tomorrow. It's a winner! read more

Finally got to try Primos today for lunch. They appeared to be fairly busy but there were multiple open tables. Our service was attentive but or waitress seemed short and not all that friendly. The atmosphere had a modern sports bar feel (in a good way) We ordered the combo fajitas with steak, chicken, and shrimp. It had awesome flavor and the meat was plenty tender. As I was looking over the menu I noticed they had the Pork Chile Rojo which is braised cubed pork in a thick red chile sauce served with corn or flour tortillas. This hit the spot- mild/medium heat with good chile flavor and tender chunks of pork. My first time trying this type of dish and I will get it again! My wife had a unique dish called the Torta Michoacán. WOW! Grilled telera bread with el pastor meat inside with all the fixins! It was so big I'm certain it had to be eaten with a fork which is what my wife did. I got to nibble on it and it was amazing. The bread was soft and all of the flavors worked well together! Very unique! It is very apparent they are making scratch made dishes here - even the onion rings appear to be house breaded- really nice touch read more

Lunch menu with most prices $9.99 or $10.99. we had the chicken enchilada and chicken taco plate with rice and a side salad with dressing served in an edible chip bowl; beef, taco and beef enchilada with a side of rice and street corn! They have complementary chips and salsa. Their salsa is mild with lots of onion, garlic, and cilantro. If I could , I would rate this restaurant 3.5 I was underwhelmed ....hard to pinpoint exactly why. When we arrived , nobody was at the hostess stand. We had to wait about 5 minutes until she greeted us with no apology for the wait. The table arrangement wasn't working for me and the music most definitely wasn't (Rock Music in a Mexican Restaurant ?) The food was actually pretty good. Stopped here on a whim and no regrets! This place is HUGE on the inside and I always love watching bowl games live so it was a nice tough to have tvs! I got the "Pick 2" dinner - picked a chicken street taco & chicken enchilada. My two sides were refried beans & rice. I loved it! I also loved the queso dip & I wish I could've finished it! 10/10 recommend. Primo's accommodated our Dad's 80th Birthday party last minute on a busy Friday night due to weather. The food was fast and delicious with large portions. Margaritas strong and tasty. Staff was beyond amazing, friendly, and with attention to detail. Also, the screens were great for the sports fans. We cannot wait to go back. Each table starts out with chips & salsa, which is always a plus. They have 1 full page of food entrees. It has the basic Mexican food items. My wife, her friend, and I went to this restaurant before the concert last weekend. The staff was very friendly, but there definitely was some miscommunication between servers. It's not your typical authentic Mexican as it's more Tex-Mex. The salsa was flavorful but not hot, and my mix fajitas tasted great. Lots of seasoned meat for the fajitas, and plenty to split with somebody or bring home for leftovers. They don't seem to have a lot of Mexican beers on tap unfortunately. This restaurant was near our hotel. We went there on Sunday for breakfast. They open early, 7am. There were so many appealing items on the menu, I had a hard time choosing. My husband got Menudo and I had Carnitas Benedict. Both were delicious. My husband thought the menudo had good flavor. The tripe was trimmed well and cut in small pieces. The Carnitas Benedict were a tasty spin on traditional eggs Benedict. The sauce was perfect for the dish. Our waitress was personable and efficient. Thanks to independent food writer Sarah Baker Hansen, I came here for breakfast. I had the Huevos Divorciados (same as SBH) and it was fabulous. The cook misread my order and added potatoes and sour cream. But that made it even better. He came out and apologized and offered to remake it, but it was great as it was. The red sauce was a little too spicy for me, but still great. The verde sauce was perfect. The portions were large. Poached eggs were perfect. I added bacon and it was cooked right. In the movie "Man on Fire" Christopher Walken has a line about Denzel Washington: "A man can be an artist in anything, food, whatever. It depends how good he is." The owner of Primo's has hired artists and that's no small thing. Primo's is THE spot for breakfast! read more
