Been going here my entire life, it's a family favorite--my father's been going since the late 60s. The bartenders are great, and the service is quick and consistent. The buttery flaky delicious crust makes the pizza for sure. It's one of the only pizza places I'll ONLY order cheese. No toppings ever necessary. THAT BEING SAID, they also serve goldfish. I reccomend nose-bombing a few of them as the only acceptable pizza topping. Compliments the flavor of the crust better than you'd expect. Been doing that since I was about 4. I'm 30 now. I hosted a birthday party for my husband here, and it could not have gone better. We had the Castraberti Room, which is very warm and welcoming. It holds up to 60, and we had fewer than that, so it was nice and roomy. The food was very good. We had an assortment of pizzas, pasta, and meatballs. (There's an extra charge for the meatballs, but they were worth it. So good!) Soda and coffee was included, and they were happy to grab milk and chocolate milk when requested. We knew about some dietary issues with guests before hand and found out about others at the party, and they accommodated our guests without hesitation. The service was terrific. Our server was Fiona, and she was right on top of everything. She let us in early to decorate, checked on when I wanted the buffet ready, brought drink refills and more food constantly, helped cut the cake, and brought containers for the leftovers. Was on busy Rt 1 so decided to stop into Prince Pizzeria as I hadn't been there in years. For those of you familiar with the area, it's the restaurant with the big "leaning tower". The only problem with somewhere you haven't been in years, is you wonder if what you remember has changed in all this time. For those that want to dine in, you order at the counter and then sit down. They call your name to deliver your food. They have long family style tables. This place is not for someone who wants a romantic quiet dining experience. It is a great place to bring the kids, and not worry about them being too loud. I don't remember ever having a bad experience in the dining room years ago and that's when my kids were small. This place is great for parties, and they also have a comedy club next door if you're looking for a night out. I remember I really liked the pizza and remembered the pepperoni with crispy edges. So I called in a pizza with green pepper and pepperoni. The pizza was exactly how I remember. It is a pan style pizza, the crust delicious and crispy. Sauce is very good, not overly sweet, not acidic at all. The cheese is ooey and gooey. When you take a bite, you get a bite. Not the type that when you take a bite all the cheese comes off on your face! Just delicious pizza. The toppings are generous. They also have loads of other style menu items like Veal and Chicken Parmesan, Marsala, Piccata, Lasagna and Spaghetti with Garlic and Olive Oil (I haven't seen that as an entrée for quite some time). They have family style items and catering size as well. They serve my favorite "Bianco" sausages. The soda is served in pitchers. There is loads of parking so you don't have the hassle of looking or paying for somewhere to part your car. Right off the main drag. The busy RT 1 lol. You pull up to find plenty of parking. Now when you enter don't expect to be seated by a hostess. You order at the front counter and pick a seat to wait for your name to be call. You raise your hand to wave the waiter that just announced your name. Your food arrives and time to eat. Becca and Brendan: We drive by this place frequently and decided to give it a try. We ordered a large pie with black olives and the wings. The pizza was delicious, but in the category of Dominos/Pizza Hut/Chuckie Cheese pizza. This was by no means real pizza that we are used to in NY/NJ or some of the more authentic places in East Boston. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed the buttery crust. Our biggest complaint was the size of the pizza. Nearly $20 for a maybe 14 inch pie? The wings had a good char flavor but the skin was very rubbery and thick. They might be better when fresh in the restaurant (we did have a 15 minute ride home) but we would not recommend for take out. Also FYI, there's a yelp coupon for 20% off that they don't honor. We would definitely come back when the craving for artificial buttery pizza strikes but wouldn't take guests here. read more

This is a go to place for us. The food is good, service is great and they are consistent. But I have one complaint, their Caesar Salad (which really is lettuce, croutons and grated parmesan cheese). They amount of cheese they sprinkle on makes it almost inedible. I got a salad last time I was there and thought it was a fluke but I returned today and same thing, way, way too much cheese. Prince has been a family run institution my entire life and even my parents before me and I'm 52. I live far away these days but 12 years later I came back to spend the summer of 2021 back in home in Lynn. This was a once a week takeout and once a week sitdown dinner every week I was home for 10 weeks. I love that the owners and families still work the floor and their customers and seem to really have a strong understanding of their business the quality they're protecting and you can experience it in every aspect from the attitude of every employee to the overall cleanliness and upkeep of everything you can see and the food is so unique I swear I have never been anywhere like it and when I was driving back home to Tampa I purchased an entire cooler full of individual ready to cook pizzas so that I could eat one once a week when I'm feeling homesick :-) it would never be the same if this place was everywhere but Prince is 100% what I think about when I hear the word home. Prince pizza is a family favorite! This is a large place with a large parking lot but kind of in the middle of nowhere. The interior in this place is homey, and can definitely get packed. You order food and have it delivered to your table - a way for them to sort through the madness on a busy day. There's a place to grab some fresh bread in the corner which is a great touch as well. But we all know what this comes down to, how good is the pizza? The answer; really really good! Its some top notch quality pizza. Great sauce, great crust. Every bite is satisfying with plenty of ingredient options. Prince pizza may be out of the way, and no its not perfect, but its always a great place to get some great pizza. read more

I went here for the first time with my wife, the parking lot was very full usually a good sign. So we ordered chicken parm they had on the menu that it's the family on that feeds 4 to 6 people so were thinking we will have plenty after to take home. It turns out it's nothing more than a appetizer 6 very small pieces what a joke. The waiter should have said something to at least let us know the portion size and it was very salty besides. I was born in Malden, MA, and I have been going here for years on and off. (My grandmother used to live in Saugus - we would go there on vacation all the time.) They opened in 1961, two years after I "opened" for business. I'm assuming I was probably eating solid food in '61 so its a safe bet I've been eating there for 46 years or so. Our last trip there was April 21, 2007, after watching the Red Sox beat the Yankees(!) on Friday Night. The place is not a joke. It is an 'old school' dining experience. It has a replica of the Leaning Tower outside. And flags. This is not Rao's NYC or Davio's in Boston. Its a pizza joint. This is not fine dining or a place to go on a romantic date. This is a place to go with your wife and small kids, with your brothers after a ball game, or with your extended family. Don't let the kitschy outside fool you. They are trying to compete on the same stretch of road with the Hilltop Steak House (giant cactus sign and plastic cows) and the miniature golf place with the orange dinosaur. (Note photos of those available at weblink above.) Continue your quest pilgrim, for the finest "New England" style pizza. Inside the decor consists of tables of various sizes. There are the the perfunctory elements of a typical 60's style Italian restaurant (as a kid I remember the placemats with the instructions on how to twirl your spaghetti.) The high def plasma TV's will usually be displaying sports of some kind - and are appreciated and welcome in my book! As you enter you go to the counter to order your food and they bring it to your table. Some people find this strange, but I usually end up chatting with the help and checking out the kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is very clean. What I love about this place is the pizza. There is something very different going on here with the pizza. I've had pizza all over the USA, but the pizza in New England (here, and Pinocchio Pizza & More, 1661 Falmouth Rd Centerville, MA 02632) is a different take. Its a slighty thicker crust, with a crunchy-light consistency, with a hint of a cornmeal(?) type flouring to keep it from sticking to the board when they are rolling it out. (As a comparison the crust consistency is similar to the Lou Malnati's - Tastes of Chicago deep dish style pizza's we had shipped in for our 2007 Super Bowl party.) The sauce/cheese quality and flavor is superb. A 13" Cheese Pizza is 10.95. Extra ingredients (e.g. pepperoni, linguica(!), eggplant, etc.) are 1.25 a throw. They even have "special" toppings e.g. Ricotta which are specially priced. My instincts tell me that this place would probably have excellent low-brow subs, meatball sandwiches, veal parmigiana, etc. I haven't had any of those, but they look like a safe bet. I would probably avoid the pure pasta plays... I had the Spaghetti and Meat Balls back in 1967, and as I recall they were excellent... but I can't find my notebook from then to give a detailed review. Also, if you want steak tips, roll down the road to the Hilltop. Finally, they sell beer and wine. A last meal of a pepperoni pizza and a few Heinekens (or a pitcher of Bud) would not be a bad way to go... If you can't get to the Gramercy Tavern. Overall I rate the pizza 5 stars, the pure pasta plays (-1) stars, with a bonus +1 star rating for having a replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This is my husband's favorite as a child and even as an adult. We LOVE the casual vibe and the unlimited salad bar. Their pizza is good (I LOVE their shrimp scampi) and it's just really easy to eat here. You order, pick your seat and enjoy your food - honestly there's not much more you can ask for. I've been here for lunch and dinner. You order your food at the counter, take a seat at any open table in the dining room, and staff will bring the food out to your table. For lunch, I tried the "all-you-can-eat" lunch buffet (Mon-Fri) which offers pizza (cheese, pepperoni, vegetable), ziti with sauce, and garlic bread, a quick lunch for under 6 bucks. The pizzas and pasta on the buffet are okay, nothing to rave about. For dinner, I enjoy the Chicken Cacciatore served with spaghetti or ziti and bread ($10.99), which is a good portion served hot. The dinner includes the salad bar, which has the basic greens, garnishes, dressings, and cold salads. I've had decent meals here, but the service here is mainly focused on bringing food out and clearing tables. read more

I've been going every once in a while to the Prince Pizzeria for their lunchtime Pizza Buffet for several years now. On weekdays only, for $4.99 you can eat all you want of several varieties of pizza. The buffet also has cooked Ziti pasta, Garlic Bread and Sauce. The pizza is quite good, though not exceptional. On the buffet, there are typically at least three or four pizzas with different (single) toppings. The Eggplant pizza is very good, and sometimes (hint: ask "Esther") they'll make a Jalepeño pizza that is delicious! I like being able to add a bit of extra sauce on the pizzas at the buffet; it goes nice with the crust. A couple of years ago, you could add a salad bar for only 99 cents, but the price has now crept up to $3.99, and is no longer worth it. The small salad bar, relegated to the back corner of the dining room, has just a few meager items: iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, canned beets, etc.. If someone purchased the salad bar as their entire meal, then $3.99 might be a fair price, but when you've already paid $4.99 for "all-you can-pizza", the salad bar should be a lower priced add-on, especially for what it is. On this latest visit there, I was also disappointed to see that the self-service water dispenser had been removed from it's longtime location on the corner of the bar. I didn't ask what the story was, but I hope it's not gone for good. (I've noticed a disturbing trend in some restaurants lately that seem to be limiting choices for those of us who prefer drinking water with meals. No longer is water served as a matter of course, we're having to go out of our way to obtain it!) Of course, at lunchtime, be prepared for a slew of school busses to arrive at any time and unleash hundreds of screaming kids into the restaurant. However, the Prince Pizzeria has been handling this sort of crowd for a long, long time. The children are usually off in a separate dining room and don't go through the buffet. It is amazing though, to watch the waitresses deliver countless pizzas during these times. I imagine there's some giant pizza producing machine in the kitchen churning them all out. But however they do it, the pizzas at Prince Pizzeria always seem to make everyone happy! read more

I've been here a couple of times for functions and fundraisers. I'm not terribly fond of the pizza here. I will say the crust is buttery, but heavy. I don't notice the taste of the sauce and the cheese is okay. I remember having a buffet here after funeral services a few years ago, I can't remember how the rest of the food tasted. It wasn't memorable. The service I've gotten here, has always been great! The serving staff have always been friendly and pleasant. The restaurant is a little dated, but it has a charm to it. It's part of the Route 1 scenery. With the Hilltop gone and the Route 1 mini golf being developed into condo's, the makeup of the area is changing and cultural pieces of the area are giving way to new developments. That leaning tower is a landmark on Route 1 in Saugus. Maybe a little updating inside the restaurant. But otherwise it's clean, warm, and welcoming. There is a bar, which I always like having available. There is the giggles comedy club attached to the restaurant where local and national talent make their way through. I also like that the restaurant has fundraiser events, it provides opportunities for everyday people to get together for a cause and give support. Because of the food, not a place I frequent. But there are people that like eating here, and I would otherwise recommend giving this place a shot. It may be a matter of taste and preference on my part. Oh, and if you go to see a comedian, practice a little etiquette. Don't heckle, and leave the cell phone in your pocket. Especially don't film them to put on Facebook, you can go five minutes without sharing a video. read more

I have been coming to prince pizza for years now and it still remains the best pizza I've eaten in the northeast. The hot & spicy pizza is the way to go if you love things flavorful and spicy! This is our to go spot for when people are visiting, and everyone we have brought here also love the pizza. Also a must order, is the basket of garlic bread as an appetizer. It will be the best garlic bread you will ever have. Service here is also great, and usually they are pretty quick about getting you your food. One time they accidentally overcooked my pizza crust, and afterwards gave me a gift certificate for the next time I go for a free pie. They are also very accommodating the large parties and have a separate room inside with large tables that can host large parties. The only complaint I have is that the prices continue to climb drastically over the years! But I would still recommend this place to anyone craving some good pizza read more

I have only done take out at Prince Pizza and usually the pizza is great! My go to pizza place. I would say it's on the pricier side starting $14 a pizza, plus $1-3 a topping which adds up! Personally I only get cheese, I used to get pepperoni but it tends to get very greasy and I don't like the pepperoni from here as much as I like (for ex.) domino's pepperoni. (I'm super picky) maybe it's just me though. I've had their French fries, super crispy and pretty good too. They do remind me a bit of cafeteria fries but good nonetheless and would recommend since it's only $5 for enough for 2 people. My boyfriend gets the ham+pineapple on pizza and he loves it. I haven't had any other menu items, but I do recommend their pizza for take out. I will be coming in one day for their sit down service and reviewing that as well. read more
