Alright... I had to do my own comparison while in Nashville. Hattie B's or Prince's??? I had lunch at Hattie B's and went with a quarter dark with Pimento Mac N Cheese and two Belgian Waffles with honey butter and syrup. The customer service at Hattie B's was fantastic and the food was amazing. I ordered the HOT at Hattie B's and it was enough to make my nose run and lips burn. At Prince's I ordered the 3 jumbo whole wings and they are big! I also got some cornbread and chose the medium spice level based on others reviews. At first I didn't think there was any spice at all because they pour a strip of the spiced oil down the center of the chicken wings which only covers about 50% of the chicken. So some bites are bland and other bites where you can clearly see the seasoning will light you up! The medium heat level here seemed hotter than the hot at Hattie B's. But it lacked the sweet, sugary balance that I was expecting. Both restaurants have super crispy, hot and fresh chicken. But the overall flavor and sides made Hattie B's shine through for me. Plus the customer service is night and day. Prince's staff is miserable and move in slow motion. We let the cashier know it was our first time trying them and she just looked away. We asked what her favorite thing on the menu was and she said the kid's meal. No recommendations, no smile, no service. Pathetic and sad. Certainly not something I'd pay for again. A solid 4 stars for the food, but in a market filled with tourists, they need to do better than this. My choice was French fries and macaroni and cheese. What was nice was the sample plates in the counter showing their options. Helped me decide. By the way, this chicken is "hot"! We both got thr mild versions and it's serious Tabasco hot. Can't even imagine medium or hot. The sandwich was really good otherwise and the chicken was juicy/tender. The French fries were crispy and had good seasoning on them. The macaroni and cheese was ok. Not bad but not amazing. I loved the cornbread muffins. Great taste and moist. There are many like it, but still not as good. I had the quarter chicken, medium (shame on me) with fries. Man, it brought back a lot of memories. So damn delicious. Prince's Hot Chicken is the OG of Nashville hot chicken being around forever, and for good reason. If you know, you know. If you don't, well....prepare yourself, because this chicken packs heat. My go-to when I'm in town? The three-wing plate, medium just the right kick without making me question my life choices even though I have used 20 napkins from the heat lol. The collard greens? Fire! Mac and cheese? Solid def hits! Andre Chicken sandwich? A must...I like to order one and take one home for a snack lol. And the fries? Always crispy, always on point. Oh, and don't forget the ranch, trust : ) The staff here? Top-notch. They really look out for their customers, and I appreciate that. I have been a long time customer of Prince's Chicken (and hot chicken in general). I discovered Prince's Hot Chicken at a time when hot chicken was unknown outside of Nashville, Tennessee and the world ever muttered the term "Nashville hot chicken." I have probably been going to Prince's Hot Chicken for close to twenty-five years and I first found them in the old location that has since closed after a car drove through it or something. Prince's Hot Chicken has multiple locations now and this particular location is in the Tanger Outlets. The service here was friendly enough and I went with a breat quarter with a side of potato salad. The chicken was absolutely fantastic. The potato salad wasn't as good as in the past, but it could have just been an off day. Let me further state, the potato salad was still good. I just remember it as incredible. Prince's Hot Chicken is credited with the creation of hot chicken and it was said to have been created as a form of revenge by a woman angry at her man who she believed was running around with other women. I guess it had the opposite effect. He tried the hot chicken and loved it. If you are in Nashville, Tennessee, you owe it to yourself to try the food they are most known for and if you want to try it, try it from the original who created it. I still think it is the best, as well. I would definitely recommend Prince's Hot Chicken and I give it five stars overall. Go check them out and you will be a fan, as well. read more

This was my first visit and I must say i enjoyed my food. I went to buy just myself a meal but, i ended up going back in for the rest of my family. I chose the mild chicken sandwich and it had flavor, which was better than my mother's plan. The young lady that helped me was very patient in helping me decide, i'm not sure of her name but she had a certain swag about herself ... hopefully that will help .. Lol. The sides were good, now that lemonade you might need to cut that with something . Next time you visit the Tanger outlet please stop and give them your business. Please note almost everything in there is al carte, so be prepared it can add up. Know different then the rest of them placed with combo meals. Of course, the chicken is the standout menu item and whether ordered plain, hot, or in a salad it is cooked perfectly and delicious. The seasoned fries are among the best, as well. Big and bold! Want heat? You got it! I ordered their 4 chicken finger dish with two "X", one "XX", and one "XXX", their hottest. Fortunately, I survived all three. My only reservation regarding hot chicken, in general, is that to make it extra hot they simply put on more spice rub. The girl at the counter was having a bad or off day cause she wasn't very cheery or interested at all to be helping me. Oh well, we all have bad days. Ordered the medium level tenders and a side of greens. Food came out very fast and was piping hot both in temperature and flavor. It had me fooled at first. Staff can't to our table to give a status update -- that's great costumer service!! I ordered the chicken sandwich mild with a side of potato salad and Mac and cheese. All super good -- the mild has a bit of a bite so done get it if you have no spice tolerance. We also had the 1/4 white meat fried chicken medium with a side of Mac and cheese. My son, who is a chili eating Mexican was in horrific pain. He said the chicken was good nonetheless. My other son ordered the tortilla bowl with the hot chicken. Service was very quick, everyone was polite, and restaurant was clean. I thoroughly enjoyed Andres chicken sandwich (medium + sweet heat) and fries, 10/10. Our first stop when we wanted some hot chicken on our visit before heading to some civil war sites! Their medium spice was spicy enough and their lite medium spice was just a big flavor bomb with a slight touch of spice. Our server told us if we have been to the other hot chicken spots around Nashville, then we should order a notch down when it came to ordering with their spice levels because Prince's was hotter than the rest. The French fries also had a bit of seasoning on them and usually I'm not a Ken's ranch fan but something about that ranch dressing and Prince's fries just addictively hit. Also tried the Chess pie, as our server also said this recipe was the closest to his Nana's recipe, it was way too sweet for my taste but I could see why it's a big hit for some in TN. Originally, we were planning to go to the Prince's in Assembly Food Hall as our first food stop in Nashville, but we found out that they don't serve bone in fried chicken at that location. Seriously? Luckily this newer location in Antioch was more on the way and has free parking. Win-win I guess? This was a Friday at around 1:30 PM and the place was absolutely packed - only one or two tables were left in the entire restaurant. The line was about 10 people deep, but it moved quickly, and the food only took around 10-15 minutes to come out piping hot. Leg Quarter, Medium Spicy ($7.75) - The chicken itself was succulent and juicy with a crisp breading and skin. The breading is a bit inconsistent, with some parts of the chicken skin basically completely missing the breading. The outer layer is salted pretty heavily and doused with the hot sauce-oil mixture. I heard how hot the chicken was here and elected to go with the medium. It was much less spicy than anticipated and I barely broke a sweat eating it. I'd definitely upgrade to hot next time around. The chicken was classically served with some pickles and on top of sliced white bread. The bread works surprisingly well with the dish, soaking up all the delicious sauce. The parts that are soaked through are way hotter than the chicken itself, so be careful there. The Andre Chicken Sandwich, Mild Spicy ($8.25) - We had a choice of Sweet Heat or Kickin Ranch for sauces on top of the chicken. We went with Kickin Ranch since we thought it would help temper the heat down a bit. Bad choice - this ranch was actually spicier than even the medium chicken! If you can't handle the hot here, don't get the Kickin ranch. For the chicken portion of the sandwich, it was a thick boneless, skinless chicken breast that was a bit on the dry side. The center was bland, which could be a plus as a reprieve from the spicy outside. The ranch, which had a strong cayenne and vinegar flavor, takes some of the crisp edge off the chicken. The bun was a soft bread that molded itself around the chicken and pickles. The side of coleslaw was a standard slaw with shredded green and red cabbage and carrots. I would stick with the bone in chicken over the sandwich, but it was still good enough. Fries ($3.00) - These are typical crinkle cut fries that are dusted heavily with seasoning salt. They were fried crisp and were a nice salty side to take away some of the heat. I totally get why people love Prince's Hot Chicken. Great fried chicken with great flavor. If you're in Nashville you really have no excuse not to give the original Nashville Hot Chicken a try. read more

There is no entree bundle. Annoyingly ranch extra $1 if you wanted. 4 jumbo tenders which was hot and good. The fries seasoned fresh. Mac n cheese for my daughter was a hit. And a drink was $20. Kinda expensive but along with everything it's all expensive. So it is what it is. Service to get our food took about 15mins.
