This is one of my favourite spots for pizza in the city. My favourite slice is the naughty pie, it has vodka sauce, pepperoni, ricotta, and hot honey. It's the perfect mix of sweet & salty with a kick from the sauce and hot honey! They have both Detroit style pizza and New York slices. I've tried most of their pizzas, with other favourites being the four cheese and the green machine. This place had a crazy line when it first opened, but now it's died down and I don't have to wait 40+ mins for a slice :) It's pretty much takeout only, there are a few tables put out in the warmer months. read more

Finally tried the Naughty Pie at Prince St. Pizza and the flavor profile is incredible! That mix of spicy vodka sauce, creamy ricotta, thick cut pepperoni and the kick of hot honey definitely takes it up a notch. The shop was definitely crowded, but I was impressed with how quickly the staff kept the line moving. My only gripe was that my slice was a little overdone it had just come out of the oven, but they put it back in to reheat/crisp it up and it stayed in a bit too long. Inside seating is pretty much non-existent, but they have a good amount of outdoor seating which was perfect for a quick bite. A popular New York pizza joint that is in Toronto - at The Well! I'm surprised I haven't tried this spot earlier since it's been here for a couple of years now, but so glad I tried it cause it's delicious! Arrived late at night and the staff were friendly! You can get slices up until 1AM, after 1AM, they switch to selling whole pies only. I loved the pizza here and I usually don't even enjoy Sicilian style square, thick crust pizzas, but my oh my this was something else and so good! Here's what we got: The Naughty Pie 5/5 - LOVED this and can't wait to have it again. It's spicy vodka sauce with pepperoni, fresh mozz and whipped ricotta, drizzled with hot honey! Get this one for sure! Prince Perfection 5/5 - A classic with marinara sauce, fresh mozz, pecorino romano, EVOO. Delicious simple ingredients! The Fancy Prince 5/5 - This one comes in New York style rounds and it was amazing! Simple ingredients and also so delicious. Don't forget to also grab their dipping sauces. Not a huge pizza person but a friend introduced this place to me last year and I have been back a few times. On the pricier side for pizza ($7/ slice) but it's thick, filling and tasty. One slice isn't really enough as a meal but usually makes a great snack after the gym. I always get the naughty pie which has a slight kick to it, and a light drizzle of honey over the cheese. The pizza is always fresh but they heat it up slightly making it extra warm. Each slice also comes in this mini pizza box making it portable to carry out since there's no seating inside. Yum! Our pizza was served hot and fresh, and we only had to wait about 10 minutes. The restaurant is takeout only, with no dining space-- there are some tables outside for use in the warmer months, so just be aware. Take out is what they do, and they do it well. Currently they're running a Home Alone homage promotion, so they've got all this cute themed decor. Definitely worth a visit if you're a fan of the movies! read more

I am so happy that my favorite pizza spot from NYC has made it here in Toronto. I love this Sicilian style of pizza with the thick and soft crispy crust. The pepperonis are the small ones that get crispy on the edges which is fantastic. Service was very quick and remember that dipping sauce is not available! This is the true way to eat a pizza. I'm not sure why this place gets bad reviews because I really love their slices! I usually go for a square slice, and the vodka slice is my favorite. Today, I decided to try their New York slice. I noticed they had a fresh pepperoni and a Fancy Prince slice. Honestly, the Fancy Prince was the better choice, probably because I didn't like the oil from the pepperoni. This is a great spot for pizza near the downtown core, I really enjoy it. Environmentally, though, they could improve. The small boxes for slices seem unnecessary. The service was good and fast. There is outdoor seating available, but no indoor seating that I recall, and I don't think there are any washrooms. It's really just a place to grab a slice or a whole pie. Never had their pizza in NYC before but got the spicy pepperoni has a late night snack and it hit the spot. A square slice was around $7 including tax. They warm the slice up which took a few minutes and comes in a take out box with lid. The dough was thick and filling. It had a kick to it and covered with pepperoni. My girlfriend and I just tried the NYC location 3 days ago, and coming back to Toronto, we had to stop by to get a pie! Prince Street Pizza is located on Front St. W. near Spadina Ave at The Well. The entrance of the pizzeria is along Front where the restaurant is primarily take out only. There is no seating indoors but they do have tables outdoors to enjoy your pizza when the weather is nice. The nice thing about The Well is that they also have pizza box bins throughout to discard your Prince St. Pizza box as well. I can't comment or compare to the actual Prince Street Pizza located in NYC as I've never been but this Toronto location has some tasty pizza slices! My review is based on two Too Good To Go (TGTG) surprise bags I got from Prince Street Pizza during two separate days. I scored the pizza bag for $7.90 and got 4 slices of day old pizza where I picked up the pizzas before the store opened at 11am. A great deal considering a single slice of pizza already costs $6-7 full price. I re-heat the pizza up in the air fryer and it tastes just as great! From my TGTG bags, I've tried the following pizza flavours: - Sunset square (sweet marinara, fresh mozz, shredded mozz, pecorino romano, & garlic) - Spicy vodka (spicy vodka sauce with proscuitto, fresh mozz, and pecorino romano) - Prince perfection (Marinara sauce, fresh mozz, and pecorino romano) - Four cheese (fresh mozz, shredded mozz, ricogtta, pecorino romano, and fresh garlic) - Spicy spring (pepperoni, fra diavolo sauce, fresh mozz, and pecorino romano) Despite all the slices being a day old, after reheating them they all tasted great. Take a hint from the box and avoid the circle pie here. Their circle pies ("Neapolitan Round Pizza") come in at 18." Ordered a half and half pie. Half 'Fancy Prince' ($34; fresh mozz, original pizza sauce, basil, Pecorino Romano), and half 'Original Prince' ($30; Prince St pizza sauce, shredded Mozz). Was charged the higher costing pizza price ($34). Asked "Well done." Also asked for a little extra sauce on top, which they accomodated, free of charge. They have 3 types of Marinara sauce (original/regular Marinara, Sunset Sauce (their (cloyingly) sweet Marinara, & Spicy Marinara). Texture was tiny bit "liquidy," similar to Passata viscosity, yet dense-looking and very flavourful. Noticeably, but not cloyingly, sweet. The sweetness overtook any "citrusyness"/tartness of the tomato sauce. Cheese flavour overpowered by sweetness of the sauce. The dough felt a bit stale. Decent air pockets. Disappointingly no char flavours for a "well done." Lack of any smokiness. Decided to try all 3 Marinara sauces, so ordered 2 squares and 1 slice to try them after requesting "extra sauce" on all 3, which the kind & tall fellow accommodated. Ordered the 'Perfect Prince' square, which uses regular Marinara, the 'Sunset Square' for the 'Sunset Sauce' (sweet Marinara), and the 'Original Prince' slice and asked for 'Spicy Marinara' atop it. The regular Marinara had a slightly lower viscosity compared to a Passata, and a slight undertone of savouriness, and a noticeable overtone of sweetness, arguably overly sweet. Not noticeably complex, or herbal or tangy. Sunset Sauce is essentially a sweet marinara named as such because it is only used on the "Sunset Square" pizza, and was almost ketchup-like in flavour and the dough was very airy and well-risen (almost an inch). The Spicy Marinara had a combination of slight sweetness and a more noticeable, yet delayed, "heat" or "hotness" which created a nice combination reminiscent of a contemporary 'Arrabiata' sauce. Would certainly recommend for anyone to request to try all 3 Marinara sauces and also to request "extra sauce on top" of all the squares (indidvidual or whole) pizzas due to the lack of "wateriness" in the sauces and the height of the dough for the squares. Squares/slices start at $6.50 for the 'Prince Perfection.' (the square with Mozz & Pecorino Romano cheese & regular marinara). All other squares/slices are higher in cost. Overall, nowhere near as good as North Of Brooklyn (which is cheaper and superior for round pies), or Revolver Pizza; and Prince St. Pizza's circle pies seem similar to maybe ONO Pizza or Mac's Pizza or Gram's Pizza. No reason to order a whole circle pie here for at least $30-$34 when a vastly superior pie, the same 18," can be had at NOB for $27 (specifically the "NY Cheese" pie). Their 16x16 "Grandma Style" and 12x17 "whole" pizzas are more unique (compared to their lackluster circle pies) and akin to "Detroit-style"/Pan-style pizzas like "Rennaissance Pizza" and "Descendant Pizza" (whose largest square pizzas are 10x14 and start around $28, whereas Prince St. Pizza's largest 12x17 & 16x16 and start about $33-$38). Highly reccomend you take their own (box's) advice and try their (slices and) squares first before getting a whole (circle/square/rectangle) pie. read more

Well. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. That last sentence will only make sense to regular readers of my reviews. Prince Street Pizza! The Big Apple in Toronto! Another validation that we're a world class city because an American company opened a branch here! After only getting lost twice in The Well, I found my way pointed in the right direction outside and found the place. I didn't know what to expect. What I found was a takeout pizza place with a newer and cleaner vibe than many other such places in town. The array of slices available for purchase is truly amazing. Something for everyone, omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans. (Do they maintain a separate workspace for making vegan pies? I didn't ask!) They had the usual round pies on offer, but I was there for their claim to fame, the Sicilian slice. I got two, the Spicy Vodka and The Sunset Square. The service was friendly and efficient, and I had a cardboard box with two hot slices in almost no time. The dining room is a bunch of metal tables and plastic chairs outside. I was lucky enough to get a free table, and sat down to tuck in. I have to say the dough for both slices was excellent. There's a danger with dough this thick turning into a crunchy indigestible bread-like horror, but this was a perfect example of how to do thicker slice dough right. The Spicy Vodka was first. It described the slice perfectly, because all I tasted was a slight heat with no complexity, a back note of vodka, and a bit of salt. Not something I'd order again. The Sunset Square looked more up my alley. A stripe of red sauce, a stripe of melted mozzarella...and then... That red sauce was sweet. Not super sweet, but more sugary than I like my red sauce. Better than the first slice, but not by much. All in all, just an okay experience. The space was in summer, but in winter, you'd need to live upstairs, or have a car nearby, or maybe try and crowd into Wellington Street Market downstairs with everyone else trying to escape the cold. I'm glad I tried it because I can say I've been there, but this won't wind up being a destination pizzeria for me. read more

I finally got to try Prince's Pizza over the weekend. They're more of a take out location with a standing counter for condiments where you can eat. Unfortunately, it was cold and snowing out so the patio outside is closed for the season. I picked up a slice of Spicy Spring, there's definitely heat to it. Near the end, I was sniffling but it was so worth it. They were generous with the topping and the dough is nice and soft. It was very delicious, but I personally prefer a thinner crust. Overall, their pizza is very enjoyable and one slice was enough for me. Their meat lover looks very attractive also and hope to try it next time. read more

We had chance to try out PSP. Got their 4 most popular slice. And we are rating sunset pie to be the best one out of 4. Second spicy vodka and then rest of the 2 which are naughty pie/ meat lover. Also don't get the spicy vodka dipping sauce it's not worth it. We got lucky as there was not much time to wait as usually this is popular spot in the evening and weekend. I enjoyed my experience at Prince street pizza, was curious as it is pretty famous in NYC. The pizza was good and fresh, and we ordered the spicy spring and the naughty pie, which were both delish, but I liked the naughty pie more, the vodka sauce is interesting. They only make a certain amount of each pizza, so when we got there, those were the only ones left, or else we would have to wait for another 25 minutes for a new batch. The line was not too long, though, and we only spent about 15 minutes in it (we arrived around 6:15 pm). We paid $15 for two generous square slices. Had very high expectations going this and it didn't meet my expectations. There were about 10 people in line and it took about 15min to get the goods. Since they sell slices you are limited you what they have available. We tried the original prince, spicy spring and naughty pie. We liked the original price the most which is the triangle slice. Surprisingly good and decadent on a cold, winter day. This is newly located in The Well, facing street side away from the Chapters. It's takeout only, wish they had a few tables for eating! They offer a wide variety of pizzas, but my favourite is the one with the Spicy Pepperoni as there's a lot of pepperoni slices piled on top! With all the hype that came with Prince Street Pizza, it became overrated to the point that now it's underrated. This pizza is top 5 in the city for me. You have to understand the star of the show is the dough. If you want incredibly cheesy pizza that looks like a scene from that Goofy movie (you know the gif I'm talking about) then this is not the place for you. If you want some of the best pizza dough and crust you'll ever have, then this place is for you. Shoutout to my bread fiends. The sauce is great too with the right amount of tang, and it seems like they use a lot more pecorino romano than mozzarella which gives it a unique saltiness. Throw it in the air fryer to get it piping hot - it's not hot enough until it burns the roof of your mouth. When I heard this place had opened, I thought to myself how good could it be? Turns out, I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the pepperoni and the vodka slices. The little pepperonis were crispy, delicious and full of flavour. The sauce was equally full of flavour and had a nice spice to it. The vodka slice, although didn't taste like vodka pasta, I still really enjoyed it. Again, flavourful and the sauce had excellent spice.
