I saw Princess Dumpling had recently opened up so was looking forward to giving it a try. The dining room has a clean, modern aesthetic that makes it a nice spot to sit down for a meal, and the service was standard and attentive enough without being overbearing. As for the food, we decided to order the "Rice Cakes with Shrimp" ($17), "Beef Roll" ($11), "Chicken XLB" ($13), and the "Pork Pan Fried Dumplings" ($13). The highlights of the meal for me were the stir-fried rice cakes which were chewy and flavorful, along with the beef roll. I loved the flakey pancake and tender cuts of beef. The dumplings were also solid, although the chicken XLB did feel a bit drier than I anticipated. My only gripe is the portion size. They did feel like they leaned a bit more on the smaller side, especially considering the price point per plate. You'll likely need to order an extra dish or two if you've come with a serious appetite. I've seen this particular parking lot fill up before, but when we came on a Friday afternoon, there was more than plenty of parking spots in the plaza.

Food: I ordered the Lobster Noodle Soup, Pan Fried Pork Bun, and Crab Roe and Pork Giant Soup Dumpling. I was extremely impressed with the Lobster Noodle Soup. The lobster was cooked just right, with tender and delicious meat, and the soup had a perfect seafood flavor without being overpowering. I realized this was actually my first time trying a pan fried pork bun! I really enjoyed the combination of textures, with a crispy bottom and a soft, fluffy inside filled with soup. Last but not least, the Crab Roe and Pork Giant Soup Dumpling was such a fun experience. You get to drink the soup inside with a straw before enjoying the dumpling. My only wish was that there was more meat inside, but it was still a fun dish to try. Service: Excellent! Friendly and attentive. Ambiance: Clean, cozy, and comfy.

Came during the soft opening phase on a Sunday lunch time and it seems like they're severely understaffed. There were a lot of tables open but the only waitress said that there would be a 30-45 min wait for the food. We didn't mind so we decided to wait. We ordered the xiao long bao, pork potstickers, and boiled pork and cabbage dumplings. The xiao long bao was pretty good. The potstickers were a bit too oily. And we realized they gave us chicken dumplings instead of pork dumplings because it was pretty dry and had a weird flavor. The waitress was super nice and took care of it for us, but just a bit disappointed that they gave us the wrong order. Hopefully they hire more people so they can cater to interested customers and get the orders right.

I believe the sister restaurant to prince dumpling.. the food was really good! We have been here twice now. We have tried the beeef noodle soup - good soup. Very flavorful! Lobster noodles! Wow priced well given the lobster was nice, juicy, and sweet. Tasted very fresh!

When I heard that Prince Dumpling opened a sister restaurant, the only logical thing to do is to visit it! Princess Dumpling is situated across the street from 99 Ranch Market. We had a party of 8 so it gave me an excuse to order (almost) everything. Our meal started off with the cucumber and signature salad, which were refreshing. The Signature salad had a hint of black vinegar and despite the red pepper that goes along with it, it wasn't spicy. The cucumber on the other hand had a kick. We ordered a number of different dumplings, pan fried, pork XLB, and a pan fried bun. Each provide different flavor and consistency. I recommend trying all but if you had to choose one to start, it is definitely the XLB, juicy, tender, with a thin skin. As to the noodles, including the dan dan noodle and shrimp fried noodle, both are hearty and will satisfy any hunger. The pan fried has a subtle soy savory flavor that keeps you coming back for more. The beef noodle soup warms the belly with its generous portion size. We also ordered some "appetizer" type dishes, including popcorn chicken and beef rolls, which were standard but good. Not pictured are the dessert XLBs (chocolate, red bean, and sesame). What can I say, that's the only way to complete a meal, with these XLBs. The interior is clean, modern, and service is prompt and friendly. Will definitely return.

TLDR: food was good. Lack of waiters is alarmingly bad. Management was shameful. What a shame. This is a sister restaurant to Prince Dumpling in El Monte, which I tried before too. The food: it's a solid XLB with a soupy and tasty filling. The pork is better than the chicken. Shanghai rice cakes are tasty without being oily. However, there is inconsistency to the peels. One order was thin and lightly oily. The other order of 8 was a dry slick skin that was thicker. Consistency issues. The real travesty is the service. To be specific, it is the lack of workers. There are two workers in the front, two in the kitchen. And one owner/manager in Nike shorts parading unprofessionally where he can help. The two servers are doing their best to be attentive and helpful, but there are 12 tables of 4, 4 tables of 2, and a table of 8. One server is running food. One server is cleaning. It took over an hour to get our food, our utensils, then our water, in that order. Several tables left straight up. The only time two servers worked out is when it went down to about 6 groups left. Imagine that. Being that cheap to not hire more help. Again, I don't blame the current servers. They worked their butts off. Here's the WORST PART. In mid of lunch rush, some of the managers friends / associates came in. They got seated and served immediately. I saw my orders that hadn't come in go to them. Screw this management. If you come here, make sure you have time.

Clean and spacious restaurant with accessible seating and space. Staff were accommodating, courteous, and helpful. Food was mediocre and average. Quality/flavor of food was disappointing comparing to all of the similar restaurants near the area. The XLB skins were thick, Pan fried dumplings were a bit burnt, beef roll was thick and too soft, fried pork chop was bland, beef noodle soup was pretty salty. There was not one food that had any wow factor. It's not terrible but just OK. Some of the food items also took longer than expected for a pretty slow day at the restaurant. The staff and service really made up for what was lacking in food.

Found Princess Dumpling in Rowland Heights last week while we were checking out newly opened restaurants! Then we found out it's actually the sister restaurant of one of our favorite dumpling spots-- Prince Dumpling in Rosemead! We were craving their xiao long bao, but we got there a little too late. Still got to try pan-fried pork buns and other dumplings!! So no worries The scallion oil noodles are another favorite of ours. We came with a big group, so carbs like this pork cutlet and egg fried rice are a must to share. We ordered many great things to share, like veggies. And we highly recommend the crab meat and fish maw soup!! Very generous with the ingredients! The Shanghai braised pork belly is a fatty little devil hahaha And we ended the meal with chocolate xiao long bao! Sweet ending feel like princess Ig: socalhkfoodies

Came for the XLB but was pleasantly surprised that literally everything else was super tasty, and might I say, better than the XLB? The crab and pork XLB was ok - I wasn't able to taste much of the crab itself and it's pretty steep at $17.99 for only six. Skin was fairly thin but could be thinner. The thing to get here is definitely the beef noodle soup - best qq noodles, large beef portions, and a rich, tasty broth. Their special salad was also a great starter with aromatic flavors. The black sesame XLB was actually one of the best dessert XLBs I've had and is much tastier than their savory version in my option. Skin was thinner, and flavors hit harder. Service was also very kind and friendly - clearly very excited and passionate about the new business. I will definitely be coming back to try their other dishes.

New SGV spot alert! Princess Dumpling has officially opened in Rowland Heights--and yes, it's the sister restaurant to Prince Dumpling, so you already know the dumplings are worth the trip Here's everything we ordered: Pork Xiao Long Bao -- juicy, soup-filled perfection Pan-Fried Pork Buns -- crispy on the bottom, fluffy on top Rice Cakes with Shrimp -- chewy, savory, and packed with flavor Shrimp Fried Rice -- simple, comforting, and loaded with shrimp Sweet & Sour Baby Back Ribs -- sticky, tangy, and fall-off-the-bone tender Shanghai Braised Pork Belly -- rich, melt-in-your-mouth goodness Green Beans & Baby Bok Choy -- the perfect veggie sides And don't skip dessert because they have sweet soup dumplings! We tried the Chocolate, Black Sesame, and Taro Xiao Long Bao--warm, gooey, and such a fun way to end the meal.

OMG, this was my first time here, and I was genuinely impressed! The food tasted truly authentic, fresh, and light, yet packed with amazing flavor. I tried a wide variety of dishes, and everything exceeded my expectations. Every bite was delicious. I'll definitely be coming back! Try the soup dumpling that was amazing

I think they put too much dark soy sauce for coloring. the soup came last in a big clay bowl. tasty but the veggie is a little too soft/overcooked, and not enough bamboo shoots. when we asked for check, the server asked if we'd like to have some chinese dumpling desserts, compliments of the house. of course!!! it was another big bowl of sweet soup with egg flowers and lots of small sesame stuffed tang guan (dumpling). perfect ending!! this place is a staple in the n neighborhood for a long time. the food was always on par and price is reasonable. however, this time I felt the the presentation and flavors were not the same as before. we will still come back when we feel like a quick Shanghainese food.

Szechwan DanDan Dry Noodles w/ Peanuts: Excellent. It was a bowl of dry noodles topped with green onions, crushed peanuts, and sesame sauce. It tasted like an upgraded version of sesame noodles with a better texture. Ding's Special Cold Plate: Excellent. This signature appetizer platter was one of the restaurant's best. It included five items: dried tofu, seaweed, pig ear, beef tripe, and spicy beef shank. Fried Pork Chop + Green Mustard Fried Rice + Spiced Eggs: A must-order. The fried rice had great "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The fried pork chop, which had a bit of fat, was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The juiciness and the texture of the melted fat were perfectly handled without being greasy. Shanghai Sesame Fermented Rice Dumpling Soup: A must-order. The portion was huge and enough for four people. It used mini tangyuan (rice balls) with sesame filling, and the combination of osmanthus powder, fermented rice, and egg drop was excellent. Also, it wasn't overly thickened with starch like at other restaurants. Soybean with Bean Curd Leaves: Very good. The moisture was reduced to just the right level, and the flavor was as satisfying as a meat dish. In addition, unlike the cold appetizers served elsewhere, this one was served hot. Braised Pork Belly: Good. It came with two translucent-looking spiced eggs and four pieces of pork belly. The sweet sauce was well-absorbed, and the meat was stewed until it was quite tender with almost no "porky" smell. Overall, it was a good dish, but the version at Blue Magpie in Arcadia is even better. The following dishes were good but not must-tries: Pan-Fried Dumplings, Steamed Dumplings, Stir-fried Rice Cakes, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Shrimp & Pork Wonton Soup, Fish Fillets in Rice Wine Sauce, and Stir-fried Spinach with Garlic. Steamed Stinky Tofu: Highly not recommended! Is this even Jiangzhe cuisine? It tasted more like Sichuan-style poached stinky tofu. It was way too salty, so much so that I stopped eating after about 60% and didn't even have the desire to take the leftovers home. Shanghai Style Salted Chicken: Highly not recommended! The chicken texture was quite dry, and the worst part was the abundance of small bone fragments. I was afraid to chew too hard for fear of damaging my teeth.
