Lemme just get straight to it bc it's 2025 and the service quality is very poor. Fast forward toe polish POPPED OFF whole!!! Mind you, I got gel! 2 came off the day of my appointment. AGAIN NOT WORTH THE PRICE My Experience: I didn't expect much knowing that this place my last resort while it is conveniently the closest salon near me. I came to get a gel pedicure color change and she literally thinned out my toe nail bed. I had to tell lady to calm down on the drilling because I want to keep my toes after this, but she claimed multiple times: "she does this". I assumed soak offs would be better but i think she was just trying to rush me out the salon. Next was my manicure. All I wanted was soak offs my 5 finger nails, and I was scared she would drill my fingers so I communicated multiple times that I want her to put the cotton balls on to soak them properly off with the acetone, but she implied that she knows what she's doing and goes to work on another customer who came after me. To cut it short, I did my own soak off, while she left me. I got the cotton and paid her for my work! I just feel like as a tech, you should be able to sense where a person is coming from and communicate the steps that they are taking on ur client. The language barrier is never a problem. read more

I read a few reviews that were left both here and on google. Although the reviews aren't great, I could confidently say that I enjoyed my experience. There is no constant conversation between yourself and the Nail Technician, but I never found it an issue whether someone chooses to engage with me while they are busy trying to do their jobs. Some people may not have friends, so they take opportunities like this to have someone listen to them rant about nothing important. The ambiance was quiet but peaceful and relaxing. The technician was incredibly professional. She took her time to ensure every step of the way, I was satisfied. She offered to take pictures and even charged my phone for me! I was in town for a wedding and didn't have time to get my nails done before coming. I didn't expect this area to have so little options for nails. The reviews here were inconsistent, but the location was close and they had availability. My pedicure and gel manicure were done by whom I believe to be the owner (didn't catch her name). She was very nice, we chatted for a bit. I will say her style of doing nails is a little different, and my cuticles weren't cut as much as they normally are where I live. I was nervous but both my hands and feet turned out beautiful. My only complaint is that after 4 days my gel manicure already began to chip on 4 nails which usually doesn't happen at all. So, it lasted for when I needed them technically but I'm disappointed they won't last and I'll have to get them redone sooner. read more

I have been going to this salon hoping for a better experience. I can never return again. The technician shames me for not properly cleaning my toenails and then tells me I have nail fungus. She produced a bottle of anti fungal gel and recommended I use it- one very over priced. I was concerned and went to my dermatologist and had the nail bed tested- no fungus whatsoever. The doctor said there was damage to the nail due to trauma but it was not fungal. She asked if I wanted a design in my large toe and when I inquired what was available she told me I had been there before, implying that I should know. I was hoping for something new. It was humiliating and unpleasant. I looked forward to going and relaxing. The sponge used on my heels so so abrasive, I had to ask her to stop. I feel for technician- knowing her environment and background I believe she has suffered but the experience was so poor, I gave up trying. read more

Literally the very best nail service I've received yet! Julie owns the salon and she's the only one who works on her clients. She will spend at least 2 hours on you to make sure you feel pampered and leave looking your best. No wonder the nails last the longest compared to the other salons I've been too. I have never paid $90 to sit in a chair for 3 hours while 2 women barely spoke to me and did each other's nails while also mine.....pretty unprofessional. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I am honestly disgusted by this place. It's filthy and unsanitary and the people are rude. I went here for an acrylic fill and the woman had me in so much pain that I actually cried. The manicurist not only did not acknowledge that I was CRYING across from her for half the manicure but proceeded to charge me for a full set. l love the professional quality nails I receive at this nail salon. The women who work there are very quiet because of the language barrier, but also their attention to giving me professional quality nails. My nails last for 3 weeks and that is on my own nails... Amazing as other salons try to tempt me with acrylic or gel nails and here they just used gelish on my natural nails and it really does last me for 3 weeks and I am hard on my hands and nails. This nail salon was conveniently placed near me and was the only place I knew of that could do dip power on my nails. They were very quick to get me in but the process of dip takes forever. Anyways. I had a broken nail so I needed it fixed the nail tech put the wrong size tip on my nail and it looks awful. Instead of using a top coat that I have previously had, they used gel polish as shellac which I purposefully do dip to avoid the uv lights with gel. The top coat peeled off not even two days later so now my nails look just bad overall. Just be extremely clear with the nail tech while getting your nails done and I'm sure they will comply. read more

1. THIS IS THE WORST TRICK - getting a customer soaking their feet or nails until they can get to you!!!! I went to have a set of acrylic nails removed. Only one woman was working there and was doing a pedicure on a customer. The woman said her sister would be back in 10 minutes to take care of me. Meanwhile she had me soaking my nails in a bowl of acetone for 30 minutes until she finished with the pedicure and started work on me. The sister never ever showed up. 2. PAIN WAS PURPOSELY INFLICTED ON ME I feel because I told the woman that she should have told me to come back rather than have to wait so long. As she drilled each nail, she pinched the pads of my fingers with her fingernails. I was actually gasping. Her fingernails left marks on the pads of my fingers. I WAS STUNNED and should have taken pictures with my phone as proof. I got up, washed my hands, paid for the partially completed service, and said I'd never be back again. P.S. I have been going to Princess Nails for about five years, and it definitely is an excellent salon! Two sisters, Hannah and Julie, own and operate the salon, and their work is absolutely outstanding. They are lovely, personable women who care deeply about satisfying even the most demanding customers (and some of their customers are very entitled, snobbish, demanding women)! The salon is very clean, and Hannah and Julie keep their instruments scrupulously sterile. The mani-pedis are beautifully done (the spa pedicures are so-o-o luxurious and relaxing), and the waxing is done cleanly and professionally. The fees for services are low, in my estimation, compared to other salons I have visited in Massachusetts and Florida, as well as in Connecticut. I could not be more pleased to endorse these women and recommend their salon without hesitation. Go...you'll enjoy the experience!!! read more

My roommate and I came here for a girl's night after yoga. It was. The. Worst. Experience. Ever. We're not even at the point where we can laugh about it yet. K had to get her shellac polish removed, so as she was soaking, I was looking to pick out a color. Then I looked around, and immediately realized how disgusting the place is, and cancelled my manicure. Poor K was stuck in her chair though. No one was washing their hands, there was no way to clean any of the instruments, and the ancient space heater (near the chemicals in a nail station!) looked like it was about to spontaneously burst into flames. After her nails were done, K relayed to me that her manicurist LITERALLY broke EVERY one of her own natural nails while doing K's nails. She just picked them off and placed them in a dish and WASHED them after. WHAT IS THAT?? K immediately went home, showered, and removed her nail polish. Please save yourself from this salon, I don't care how close to campus it is. read more

The lady actually CUT my finger in the process, not just a little scratch but she actually GROUND a nail file into my skin until I was bleeding. It was INCREDIBLY painful! I tried to get a refund and they refused! I took it to the better business bureau, who told them they needed to give me a full refund and they STILL refused. They offered my half. This is an excellent salon. They are very thorough and every pedicure includes careful attention to removing callus--it is not an add-on as it often is at other salons. Whenever I am traveling and have a main/pedi done elsewhere it is not as good. Princess nails is owned by two sisters and has a comfortable family vibe. This shop is clean, calm and relaxing. I don't understand the negative yelp reviews. Yes the sisters will talk with each other when I am there but I find this to be cozy and I like it. read more

Long time reader, first time reviewer. I am surprised at the poor reviews. This place is fantastic! I got my second pedicure there today and can say across both sessions they were incredibly clean, attentive, and professional. There isn't a lot of conversation, which works well for me because I am shy. Both pedicures took over an hour. There wasn't anyone else getting a pedicure so the technician was solely focused on me (sole, get it?). They are extremely diligent about making sure the polish is perfect and wiping off any polish that slips onto skin.Being pampered for over an hour? Twist my arm. I also have heinously ugly feet and they don't make me feel bad about losing the genetic lottery. read more

ONE worker bounced around from the three of us and other people who had appointments. My feet sat in the water until it turned cold at 11:30AM. There are only 2 ladies I've ever seen working there and they don't speak English. One lady understands it better than the other but they can't speak it at all. They point to things and mumble, so you sit there in silence for an hour or 2 depending on what you're having done. I have acrylic nails and the 1 that understands English is very good with the acrylic. She is quick and my nails looked great last time I went. The other lady however, is not so quick and she sucks. The better lady was fixing her mistakes on my hand after she was "inspecting" them. And every time I've made an appointment they never have it written down. Usually do better as a walk-in. I don't know of any salon in the area that does acrylic, that's why I keep going back. If someone knows of a salon in the Mansfield area that does acrylic let me know. I've been to the one in Tolland near Big Y and didn't like them at all. read more

The woman who put the acrylics on filed my cuticles until they were bleeding. I have gotten sets done enough times and never had this happen to me, so I was not happy.
