    Fresh case

We were in town on vacation last week. My husband picked out the hotel. It happened to be down in this harbor area. So many fresh seafood restaurants in this little area. Some close earlier than others. I love all of these fish market and pier smells. We had just gotten back from glass beach and having lunch in town. But I really wanted something fresh from the fish market. They close at 5 pm. I had been looking for post cards to send back to family with no luck. They had post cards here but fancy ones from artists. I bought a quarter pound of fresh cooked crab meat. That was my snack before dinner. It was very yummy. Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful. That had many other things different dips and sauces. A local was in buying fresh caught fish from that day. I can not remember now what it was called.

The seafood here is so good! I recently spent a couple of days in Fort Bragg, and Princess Seafood (market and sit-down restaurant) was by far my favorite food spot in town. My favorite deli item here is the crab roll - you have to get this! It's the tastiest crab roll I've had on the west coast. The sandwich is also pretty big, and they don't skimp on the crab meat here. There's also a great selection of raw and cooked seafood here. I got some crab to-go, and it was really fresh and tasty.

Great view of the canal, especially during sunset. It just breathtaking view over delish, fresh and so yummy dinner. The foods are very goods and with good size too and reasonable prices too. Great services by all the staff. Parking can be tricky if you're 1st timer but manageable. They have both indoor and outdoor seatings. Overall, great that we founded this place for our one day trip to the area.

    View from the patio.

Had a fantastic lunch & a beautiful view here! You walk up to order & sit out on the patio looking over the harbor view out to the ocean. We ordered the crab sandwich & it was perfect. So much crab! Very lightly seasoned which is how I like it. & it's on a nice soft bread. Plus the clam chowder is a classic. & who doesn't love prawn cocktail? Mmmm loved this spot.

Grilled oysters 1/2 dozen, half with the garlic lemon butter and half with the chipotle bourbon butter

I specifically came to this place for their oysters, especially since they had grilled oysters for a reasonable price. It took about 10-15 minutes for my order to come out, but it was well worth it. They have a covered patio seating area in front of their building where you can watch them grill the oysters. The meat of the oysters easily separated from the shell, and there was a good amount of meat per half shell. They had two dressing options available for the grilled oysters: lemon garlic butter and chipotle bourbon butter. I ended up getting 1/2 dozen grilled oysters with 3 of each type to share with my boyfriend. I really enjoyed the chipotle bourbon butter, which had the perfect combination of tang and spice that paired well with the saltiness of the oyster. One of the lemon garlic oysters had an unusual, foul taste.... It tasted much more raw in comparison to the other ones we had tried, which was a disappointing one to end our meal with. Other than that bad apple, the other oysters were pretty great, but I don't know if it would be worth the gamble. Perhaps it had not been cooked long enough on the grill, as we did arrive 40 minutes before closing.

Friendly customer service. Awesomely fresh seafood. What else do you need to know? We came in yesterday for oysters for our evening appetizer. While I made my own chipotle bourbon butter, it turns out they also sell a chipotle bourbon sauce. It's a wonderful flavor bomb to add to the grilled oysters after the shells have opened.

Such an amazing casual spot for fresh seafood. The dining area has a great harbor view. You can see adorable seals playing in the water. Bbq oysters were delicious. I got the garlic lemon and the chipotle oysters. We also got the ahi poke bowl, prawn bowl, rock fish plate, and clam chowder. I left super full and happy. What a great spot to start the day off in Fort Bragg! They also have a good selection of beers, wine, and cider. The employees were all really helpful and wonderful. A must try when in the area.

I can't believe I have been sleeping on this place! If I had known how amazing they were all this time, I would have been coming here since 2008. The staff members genuinely love their jobs; they are incredibly helpful and friendly. The gentleman who assisted me tonight was very informative and went above and beyond. I ordered six raw oysters and some Dungeness crab, which they grilled with garlic and butter. It smelled fantastic! They even grilled some buttered bread to soak up all the delicious crab juice. I also purchased some locally made wooden earrings shaped like jellyfish, which are beautiful. I absolutely recommend this place. It features local art and cool things to look at. There's a tree adorned with ornaments and covered patio seating, so you can stay dry while enjoying your meal. Plus, they can prepare your order to go, as they did with mine, and everything is fresh. The ambiance is fantastic!

What a gem. Bbq oysters were fresh, both seasonings were delicious and super affordable! We will definitely be back for these alone. The uni was 25$ for a small pack but sooo worth it. The girls here are badass but come early they get busyyyyy! The clam chowder was a 3.5/5 it barely had any clams in it. The crab sandwich was also ok

I wanted local fresh seafood; either shrimp or crab. And on arrival, exactly what I hoped! A delicious crab roll sandwich with chips! Very satisfied

    1. Fresh seafood daily! 2. No need to go the restaurant around the corner if you need your lobster bisque fix - they offer it there! 3. The staff is super helpful when talking about preparation or serving seafood. 4. Wonderful sundries collection. I even bought a doormat there recently. 5. Bonus for being a woman-owned, woman-staffed, woman-operated business.

They did a great job remodeling, although when you first walk. Up to the building it was not obvious to me to go upstairs. We came at 11 on a Saturday, we were the first ones to sit in the bar. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. Our Bloody Marys were tasty. We had the cerviche which came with what seems like homemade chips- it tasted fresh. We also had the grilled cod tacos with black beans and rice which were good. I'd go back!

While the new decor is nice, it became painfully clear that changing the atmosphere means little without competent management and staff who prioritize customer safety. Our expensive dinner was completely ruined by a loud, heated argument between a man and a woman seated near us. The situation rapidly escalated, drawing in other bar patrons with foul language and physical confrontation including a man pushing his wife out the door. The bartender tried to intervene and wanted to call the police, but the manager overruled him. One man at the center of the dispute stayed seated while chaos unfolded around him. When we notified the manager, who was sitting nearby watching the entire incident she refused to contact the police, dismissing it as a matter of "private property." We suspect this inaction was because the disruptive, intoxicated patrons were staying in the restaurant's on-site hotel rooms, with profits apparently taking priority over patron safety. I reminded her that restaurants have the right (and responsibility) to refuse service and remove disruptive guests. Servers ultimately had to escort the intoxicated patrons out, unnecessarily putting both staff and other customers at risk. Restaurants have a legal duty of care under premises liability laws to protect patrons from foreseeable harm, including violence from other customers. Failing to intervene in a clearly escalating situation involving intoxicated individuals, overruling calls for police assistance, and allowing threats to continue outside the premises raises serious safety and potential liability concerns especially in a family-friendly, high-end establishment. As we left, the ejected men were waiting just outside, openly planning what they would do to the other individual when he exited. We have never experienced anything like this in a restaurant charging premium prices, including $12 for a simple loaf of bread and butter. The food was good and our server worked hard, but the disturbing incident, the manager's complete lack of concern for customer safety, and the unsafe environment have cost this establishment our business after more than three decades of loyalty.

After a walk along the coast and an appetite has been acquired, it is a short walk to this small fancy restaurant just off of downtown. Upon entering, there is a small initimate bar, dining area and a patio out back for "al fresco" dining. By San Francisco Bay Area city standards, it is not fancy in the luxurious, posh sense, but here, seafood is the star! First up, Oysters Rockefeller appetizer. Frankly, they could have been prepared any which way - for the oyster fan, they were fresh and delicious! The salmon was good (although a bit overcooked, the waiter didn't ask how it should be cooked). The salmon came perched atop garlic mashed potatoes that were out of this world! The scallops were so fresh and tasty and perfectly paired with polenta and farm fresh asparagus! They also feature Northern California (as in North of the San Francisco Bay Area) wines and beers, something not readily found outside Mendocino County. There was no room for dessert, guaranteeing a trip back to get the full-on meal experience! The environment is convivial. On a late May early evening, there were graduation dinners out back on the patio, an intimate shared dinner with drinks going on in the bar, and ladies who dine in the corner. Another unique aspect of this restaurant is that it is very close (as in feet away) from the Mendocino Skunk train. Diners will experience the train horn, warning signals and small tremors caused by the train chugging by at any time during their meal. There are also people working out on pedal bikes (yes *on* the tracks) to get exercise on their tour of the redwoods in Mendocino! It added to the ambience as an "only in Fort Bragg" experience! We had a great meal and will be going back!
