This hotel is situated at a peaceful, secluded setting and ample outdoor space with hiking trails in a woodland, offering a quiet retreat off the main roads. Their huge costumer car parking is about 1-2 minutes walk from their main facility. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. One of their amenities is having a nice hotel restaurant and bar which has options for outdoor dining. I enjoyed their spacious pool area with an attractive glass enclosure which provides nice outdoor view. Fitness center is available 24/7. They keep the lobby, the room, the rest room and their whole facility visually clean. They offer an extensive conference and event space. I like the interior lobby decoration which was incorporated with ample amounts of seating, tables, billiard table and nice lighting. The room that we got was equipped with a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. They provided enough towels for the guest. Air conditioning and heating were properly working. You expect a lot when you are staying at "Marriott" namesake hotel. The location of this one is great and the building itself looks great from outside. However, inside is what matters. On initial impact, the place needs a lot of routine maintenance. Walking up the stairs, you can see spider webs under the steps. Carpets in the room felt sticky. And the bathroom was crawling with some multi-legged slivering bugs which crawled up my wife's leg. The M-club closes for weekend breakfast, another disappointment for any of Marriott fans. Additionally, the M-Club had called ceiling and other stuff on sofas making it very unappealing. Overall the cleanliness needs greater attention though the service was good. Not sure if I would come back to this location as a platinum member. read more

Recently stayed here while touring Princeton for a night. Checkin was easy and given our Bonvoy status, we were able to enjoy the M lounge which was nice. It offered a good variety of fruit and breakfast (eggs, bacon or sausage). I also enjoyed the coffee. This was the best part of this hotel. What I will say is that Marriott, overall, regardless of brand, has really seemed to lower cleaning standards. This hotel was no different. The room felt old, dusty, and the walls were dirty. The bathroom was not my fave as there was hair on the wall in the shower...was it even cleaned? Just 1/3 roll of toilet paper on the roll. I mean, that is gross. We literally stayed one night and I had to ask for toilet paper. Beds were clean and we barely were in the room, but I was disappointed. Did not have time to view other amenities. We arrived at Princeton on a redeye, arriving super early, so I was glad they accommodated us with an early check-in so we could freshen up, which is why I didn't complain, but I think I need to start because a hotel room should feel clean. If this is Marriott's new standard, I may be giving my business to Hyatt in the future. read more

From the gentleman at check-in to the bartenders, everything at this location was amazing. Set back in a secluded 7 acre wooded location is a sprawling getaway. Indoor pool that was clean and didn't smell of a chlorine gas bomb like so many indoor pools do. Weight room was perfect and had plenty of equipment to get a full workout in for the morning. There seems to be walking trails outside, we didn't take advantage of them but they do look peaceful and tranquil. Outdoor seating areas with mini fire pits. The location is pretty central to everything, many dining and shopping options including Palmer Sqaure. Nice little coffee shops and eateries where all the locals congregate. Hotel itself is super clean. Standup shower was fantastic, water pressure perfect. Shower amenities were very good, no need to bring shampoos or body wash. Bed and linens, I always have a hard time with hotel beds. Not here. Slept like a baby on cloud. Game room for the kiddos. Spa for mom and dad. Starbucks for coffee. Mini fridge and Keurig in the room. Gift shop with booze if you need to bring something back to your room. A lot of other details that we probably missed or didn't take advantage of. Attended an event and stayed at the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal. I had an interesting time while at the hotel. Was at the Marriott for my friends' "after party" wedding celebration, which was amazingly fun, and what was super convenient was taking the elevator back to the room after the festivity. Walked into the event, guests were greeted by one of the staff, and right after, you could grab alcohol and/or their signature cocktail of the evening, which was called "Fall in Love" (knob creek and apple cider). It was an open bar, and the signature cocktails were a hit. The bartender made some nice drinks. The food was buffet-style and pretty decent. The staff were helpful while we partied the night away. The room for a night was pricey and not exactly what I expected, but it was fine. Outdated decor but matched the Princeton area. read more

This hotel was home base for us while we were in town for our friend's wedding. I was instantly impressed with how beautiful it is inside the lobby area - it really gives a spa-like, zen feeling, which makes sense because they do have a spa at this location. I loved the warm wood tones, natural light, and light fixtures of the lobby area. Check in was easy and our room was conveniently located on the first floor near all the action. I did hear some people talking in the hallways but I'm not a light sleeper so it doesn't bug me. The room was clean, a little outdated but nothing awful. The views are beautiful and you feel like you're in the woods in the middle of nowhere. I found this hotel to be very peaceful. There is a hotel bar/restaurant, they offer a breakfast buffet for $27 but we didn't go for that. The bartenders were all polite but drinks weren't cheap. Stellar service and a lush woodland setting make this location stand out from it's cookie-cutter brethren in the Marriott's orbit. The grounds are stunning as is the lobby but the rooms seem mired in their 1990s heyday which is a huge improvement over some properties under their flag who never really turned the page from Don Draper's bachelor party. There's the requisite business center, conference facilities and bar where tequila shots await you and the gang from accounting. It's a Marriott, they generally know what they're doing and you'll enjoy your stay... you just might not remember it or know whether you're in Princeton or Peoria. Very strange review for a respected chain and establishment Stayed here for 3 nights for a business presentation - so nice and reserved conference rooms to practice and hotel provided snacks etc seemed perfect Wifi not strong- off and on, So I guess order "enhanced" and test all prior? Just weird would be so weak if conference and business focussed. Then the room directly next to me, wed night... has screaming yelling people, presume drunk but who knows... I called to request the hotel please ask to quiet down due to early morning presentation but no less noise and its 11 I guess my point is more that you would assume safe for business and especially mid week but it's not and its really weird nothing to be done about it.... Don't stay for important business, Princeton football game, great/ work meetings did not come through/fail, another 30 min and will request a room change. The hotel facility was fine. But the restaurant experience left me pretty salty. For 2 people who choose the buffet breakfast - this will set you back $74 before tax. That is NOT a typo. If you're there for two mornings, well you do the math. You are really out of luck if you're traveling with a family. And it's nothing special. Eggs, hash browns ect.... You have an option for a "continental breakfast." For a few danish and a bagel, that'll be $32. Also, not a typo. Then you can choose a meal off the menu, but the pickings are slim and also overpriced. If this was Manhattan or LA, maybe. But Jersey? Ridiculous. read more

Excellent serene and cozy getaway! The location is nestled away in a quiet woodsy lush piece of land. Close to restaurants, retail stores, and entertainment. My husband and I left feeling refreshed and invigorated. Beautiful architecture and extremely friendly and helpful staff make this place a 5star hotel. This Marriott offers tons of amenities including a pool (5.5 ft deep and jacuzzi area), fitness room, spa, laundry room, tennis court, and many nooks and stations in the common areas great for sitting, gathering with friends, or reading within walls of windows that make the indoor/outdoor space feel integrated. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room lacked a microwave or heating plates. The bathroom was average, a little smaller than most places I've stayed and felt a little cramped. With the sink, and toilet within 2 ft of each other. The stand up shower was ok. Not the highlight of this place. Excellent COVID-19 precautions. Marriott took over the property and refurbished it. No one builds hotels like this any more--spread out and only three levels like a college dorm. If you're from the south like me, the rooms feel a bit crowded and slightly outdated. The double beds felt smaller than the normal double beds you find at a typical hotel and the bathroom was quite small as well. In terms of the ambiance of the hotel itself, including the lobby and amenities, it was very rustic and calm. The front desk was attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and knew that they were there if we needed anything at all. The staff and shared areas of the hotel made up for the lack of space in the rooms. This hotel did not have an included breakfast. Instead, they had a restaurant on-site that offered breakfast foods in the mornings and then later served lunch and dinner. Although the restaurant staff was also amazing, the food was subpar. Much of it felt as though it was not prepared fresh. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay during the wedding I was attending! read more

Middle of the road Marriott location. The landscaping and location is absolutely brilliant - and the lobby area seems to have had a recent renovation which looks stunning. Likewise, the banquet/conference facilities are top notch. However, once you go up to your room, it's evident that they didn't go as far with their most recent renovation as they could have. Smaller guest rooms aside, the decor is dated, and the room we were in had a bit of a musty smell. You can tell this hotel has some age to it; hoping the next time they renovate they go a little more in depth. I will say, the bathrooms in the rooms were quite nice, beautiful new standing showers. We stopped by the restaurant while there, and while the food was pretty good, the service wasn't quite what I expected from a Marriott. The pool, although beautiful-looking in the photos was a little run down - none of the underwater lights worked, and the hot tub was out of order. Was accused of "doctoring" the form, I asked my bro and he's like yea just put your name on it didn't want to bother big D in Boston to make a new form just for you. I was like ok cool. But this hotel was like the FBI and lead detective Maria Lopez was on the case, wasn't helpful , nice, or lenient at all. "Corporate policy, your serial number on bottom left of document doesn't state your full name instead states another person." And also contacted the hotel the night before in providence about me as if I'm defrauding Marriott, sent her a receipt to show that it's family to family and wasn't questioned like I was here. I'll send you the correct form, relax. But great job Maria, I hope you get a big bonus for making Marriott a couple hundred dollars but losing a long time customer that spends over 10 thousand a year. Excellent business hotel! We received a company discount at $179 for an overnight midweek stay. Rooms are very modern, a huge flat screen TV (looked like 50"). Bathroom very ultra-modern, shower has 2 spouts. Bed is very comfortable and pillows are fluffy. We were fed 3 times onsite during a 2-day corporate workshop and it was surprisingly delicious. One evening they prepared an outdoor BBQ for us + 3hrs open bar. Everything tasted correct, from the skirt steak to the chicken and ribs. Definitely of high quality. read more

The Princeton Forrestal Marriott is a beautiful property. Nicely situated back off the main road and feels very bucolic. We found the staff to be friendly and accomadating. Rooms were clean and pleasant but we found the beds to be uncomfortable and as we've found at many Marriott's, they have this top sheet/blanket that makes the bed's too warm at night even when you lower the room temperature. A couple of suggestions. The common areas such as the lobby and the bar and restaurant are very cold, no only temp-wise, but design and comfort wise. It's often very chilly in these areas and because it' slightly dated it's not comfortable to dine, sit at the bar or restaurant or relax in the common areas. Might help if the decor and furniture was changed and updated and made more plentiful and comfortable. In addition, again staff was nice, but would suggest some further training in so far as higher quality service, product knowledge, menu knowledge and overall service training. read more

They have breakfast in the morning and appetizers and desserts from 5:30-7:30pm. The bathroom in my room was also renovated. The people who work at the hotel are very nice and helpful. The hotel has a nice outdoor area. They also have a pool and a decent fitness center. The hotel has a free shuttle and is located close to downtown Princeton. Highly recommend. read more

Hotel is freezing cold - both in temperature and friendliness of the staff (with the exception of some of the housekeepers). They must be trying to save money by not heating the hotel. Walking into the hallway is a bone chilling experience, but nothing compared to trying to order something at the bar. Chataqua, the bartender I had, should be fired. After sitting at the bar for 10 minutes and not seeing a single employee, I went to the front desk to see if anyone worked at the restaurant. I should have just taken that as a sign and left the property for lunch. Instead, Chataqua eventually strolled over to the bar. She is the least friendly, least helpful and quite frankly the laziest bartender I have seen in a very long time. She made me feel as though I was interrupting her from something that was much more important than taking care of customers. I don't think she is actually capable of smiling, nor any pleasantries at all. If you hate your job that much, perhaps you should get a new one. Based on her personality, I'd suggest becoming a speelunker. Recommendation to anyone who has to stay at this hotel. First of all, make sure to bring a sweater so you can brave the hallways. Secondly, leave the property for any meals or drinks, unless you like the staff making you feel completely unwelcome. Or at the very least, make sure to avoid the "service" of Chataqua. read more

I had the pleasure of staying at the Marriott Forrestal during my frequent business trips to New Jersey. The hotel is located a few minutes off of Hwy 1 just outside of Princeton. The hotel is very well managed with an extremely service oriented staff. A nice touch is the GM and a few of her team stand in the lobby for a few hours every afternoon greeting guests as they arrive. The overall facilities are good, with nice sized rooms and a recently remodeled bathroom. The hotel has a well-equipped work-out room and a large pool and Jacuzzi. One of the best offerings of this Marriott is the large M-Club which is located off the main lobby. The M-Club offers access to qualified Bonvoy guests. The club is excellent, providing a nice breakfast and a very extensive happy hour menu. Overall this Marriott is one of the best run Marriott's I have stayed in. read more

Meh... That pretty much sums up my feelings on the hotel experience here. It wasn't bad at all, but everything was fairly average and not special. I stayed here on a Saturday evening in January. The lobby is beautiful and I'm told that the spa experience was excellent. And that's great. However, the rooms were really outdated and overall just not very special. Bed, decor, bathroom, very average. The rooms didn't come with refrigerator, which wouldn't be a huge deal if the room was more modernized. The view from the room was actually pretty nice as it looked out into the woods, which is kind of peaceful. The other positive was that the television offers streaming service for things like Netflix. This was huge, and my time in the room was spent using it. Overall I likely will pass on staying here going forward just because you can get more for your money by staying at a most other hotels. read more

I stayed here on a work trip for three days. The entire property is gorgeous and majestic. Everything is so beautifully green. I drove in and there were many places to park. You can also pull your car up to the lobby area and drop your stuff because the parking lot is a little bit of a walk. I was able to check right in, no problem. Olivia helped me and checked me in. She helped answer all of my needy, traveling questions and verbally toured me through the property. There are only two levels, so if you don't have a lot with you you can always take the stairs, which I enjoyed. I hate having to wait a long time for an elevator. That is the inpatient traveler in me. I was on the top level actually right by the elevators. My room was very spacious and I had a beautiful view of the outside greenery. I was definitely happy to be staying here for the next few days. The fitness center was on the smaller size but did have a lot. Luckily, the few times I worked out it wasn't very busy but I could imagine it being cramped during gym rush-hour. I thoroughly enjoyed the concierge lounge for Elite members. They had a great breakfast spread, snacks and drinks throughout the day, and a beautiful array of hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon. That definitely held me over a lot of times when I was hungry or needed coffee, water, etc. They also have a spa, indoor pool/hot tub, and restaurant on site, as well as a bar. I also got a tour of the spa although I did not get any services. This hotel pretty much has everything you need as well as great service. My checkout process was easy as well. If I was in this area again for work, I would definitely stay here another time. read more
