Ivan spoke with me on the phone to discuss what was wrong and what might be the cause that night. The next morning, he was here by 9:30am to trouble shoot. Within an hour the A/C was up and running and Ivan had put everything back as it was. Costs were very reasonable and, more importantly, they were exactly as stated before arrival. I liked most that Whirlwind was great at communicating with me, the customer. Both over the phone and in person. They were clear about the types of problems I could be facing with a 17+ year old system and what the worse case might be (full replacement since my A/C uses a now banned refrigerant). I replaced the parts myself 3-year-old unit is running brand new. Took me 45 minutes. So $1650 of what I call rape or profit from their is asinine total price gouging. An average unit replacement for my brand new bought from major supplier warehouse is between 45 and 5500 bucks. I've heard of $800 repairs. They prayed on older people and charged him 15,000 for a new. Installed. If to waste money and have plenty of it be sure and call HVAC otherwise I suggest you steer clear of this one.
