I called Northwest Heating and Cooling because my furnace had all of the sudden stopped running. I was worried that something major was wrong and that it would be expensive to fix. I had watched several videos and read up on what I thought was wrong with my furnace prior to calling, and hadn't been able to resolve the issue. I'm soooo happy I called Northwest Heating and Cooling! Being the hottest summer in a long time many AC companies are slammed and I totally get it. I was working with Sky Heating and they were horrible to work with so I decided to research for another HVAC company with for a second opinion. I called other who would do a diagnostic call and I had another company tell me to replace my whole unit for 5k! I spoke with Jerry Monday evening and he had his team come out the next day! Wow! Jerry kept me posted and told me the techs were running behind and apologized for the delay. I was home with my son so it didn't bother me as long as they came to my house ! I had Tony and Stevie come and checked out everything even the ducts in our crawl space. Come to find out our unit had an easy fix and our ducts had a funky set up. Tony and Stevie explained everything to me and it make sense why the issues were the way they were. I really appreciated their honesty and planning to reschedule them again for the duct work. We had a new air conditioner installed two years ago which was unfortunately placed on an old wooden deck. Fast forward to this spring when the deck needed to be torn out and was replaced with a flagstone patio. Evergreen said it would cost almost $5000 to move it off the deck and onto the ground. I was flabbergasted! Luckily someone gave me the name of Northwest Heating and Cooling and they did the job for $550. AMAZING service!!! Jerry was patient and answered all of my questions over the phone, his team showed up on time and got the job done. They even did a great job tacking up all of the pipes and conduits against the wall. I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful job. So it has been five years of using Jerry for my heating and cooling needs. This morning the AC was down. The house was already hot and it is muggy and suppose to be the hottest day of the year and it's Saturday. I call Jerry and told him the AC is down. I checked fuses and breakers but nothing is working. He tells me Dave I'm swamped everybody is having issues but I will do my best to send one of my guys out today. I spoke with the owner about 1 1/2 weeks ago and requested he come out on Friday, 3/9 for a new AC installation bid. He stated he works with a really big company that pays him really well on Fridays but he could come out at 8 am. I agreed, but noted his response was kind of strange. On 3/9 at about 8:15, he called and said he had an emergency, had to respond, and asked if he could come out later in the day. I agreed, as long as it wasn't between 2 and 3. Great communication and fast service...whereas every other place I called in town was going to make me sit in the cold for weeks before I could schedule an appointment. When our furnace suddenly quit working I went searching for someone on the west side who could take a look at it. Northwest Heating & Cooling had a lot of good reviews on other sites, so I gave them a call. I called Jerry first thing in the morning and he was able to come by and take a look about an hour later. It took him less than 10 minutes to figure out the problem and he replaced the faulty part and had the furnace running quickly. I first used NW heating and cooling a couple of years ago when my heat pump died. A friend who used to work in the industry told me what the most likely problems were and prepared me for many of the tricks that he had seen used to up-sell unsuspecting customers. When Jerry arrived, he quickly diagnosed the problem without any of the BS that I had been warned to watch out for. He was very personable, knowledge, and easy to work with. Since then, I have called him for other issues and have recommended him to friends and family for everything from basic inspections to gas line installation. In every case Jerry or one of his guys has done the job, and gone above and beyond making sure its done right. I notice that the only negative reviews here are regarding a late appointment and trouble getting a hold of the company. I have always received a call back within 24 hours (usually less) and while unfortunate, mix ups do happen. I'm sure NW is working to improve this, but even with this info in mind, I will still continue to recommend them to friends and family and just encourage them to call back if you have to. An extra phone call is more than worth it to me, to have the job done right by someone I can trust and at a reasonable price. Some time on Friday evening our ac unit went down. I did my due diligence on google and tried a few things myself on Saturday morning. I called and left A voice mail message at 7:45 am. So my Carrier furnace goes out yesterday, I troubleshoot it and think I find the problem, but have no way to fix it. It's getting cold in here, so I scramble to find a reputable furnace repair shop. Based on Yelp reviews I settle on Northwest Heating and Cooling. It's rare that I make such a good decision, but I did. I emailed after hours and surprisingly Jerry responded and said he'd get me set up in the morning. Other places were giving me a time of a few days to a week. And I did get set up in the morning, a great tech was here by 10am, and diagnosed the problem, which is the problem I thought it was, a bad gas valve. Heat was back on by noon. Now, our furnace is very old and an unscrupulous company could have made up just about anything to pad the bill, but not this company. They are quick, professional, fair priced and really, just all around good people. I highly, highly recommend them. read more

When I called Jerry he answered the phone and set a time for the same day. He arrived and opened the furnace and said I see your problem a cracked exhaust port. He did some other checks and patched the cracks and got it working because he didn't have the part so I had heat for the night. Jerry came out next day with the new part. My furnace was broken New Year's day. The owner came out within 18 hours of my phone call. He serviced and repaired the furnace and didn't even charge me a surcharge due to the Holiday! I was desperate as the outside temperature was below 33 degrees. He could have charged me more but didn't. I will be using him for now on. read more

Pardon me while I rave (not rant) about NW H&C I spent 3 years and too much money on other, well-known company techs coming out and saying "No problem - works fine" but our furnace then would run for a short time and then error out and have to be reset again, and again and again. They just looked at the 3-blink error code on our Trane XB80 and did not have a clue. Then, last week, Jerry's tech comes out and within 30 seconds (really) he figured out the control board was bad and the 3-blink code was a sign of that, not an actual issue. He pulled the board off and viola! It had a scorched circle on the back where the capacitors had gone bad. So the 3-blink was the board going bad, not the induction motor, that fooled all the other "Pros". He had a new board in the van, popped it in and since then our family has been enjoying a warm house for the first time in years. Do not waste your time on other HVAC companies! read more

Our furnace stopped working this Saturday morning when it was 18 degrees out. It is not easy to find a repair provider not only on a Saturday but an unusually cold one. When I called two other places I got 1. blown off and 2. told nothing till Monday, no mercy. When I called Northwest, the mailbox was full so I hung up. They must have somehow still seen my number as I was surprised to get a call back shortly thereafter from Jerry! He was able to send someone out and they had a short-term fix up and running in no time. The technician also told my handy-husband how to fix the problem in the medium term and what we needed to do long term. Jerry had fairly warned me in advance of what the fee would be (they are on short staff and overtime due to the weather), and it turned out to be smaller than we expected as the technician used my husband's help and tools (short on parts and equipment this crazy cold weekend) and felt as a result he should charge us less. Classy. I was impressed by the over and above call back, clear and fair explanation of what to expect cost-wise, gracious humble and helpful technician and fair price in a weather crisis. Lastly, telling my husband how to fix it, which took us 15 minutes and $3 in parts from Home Depot, was a bonus. I'd highly recommend these guys and we are picky. read more
