Lucky for us, Joel was nearby and available in less than 30 minutes. Joel was very thorough in explaining options and systems that complimented our usage and needs. We picked the ideal choice for our needs and scheduled our furnace/ac system replacement. Due to inventory issues we were going to have to wait 5 days before the planned time. The terrific staff at Best Owner Direct HVAC & Electrical were able to locate a system from another distributor and scheduled the installation for Thursday. The over 100°f day. The garage is cool and the rest of the house is hot, especially upstairs. I noticed a two inch gap around a cover . The wrong cover had been installed and just taped on rather than getting screwed on. No tape I can find will hold it on and the air pressure forces it open again. I called Earthwise to have them fix it. My first call was May 18. They didn't call back. Two more calls in the next week got me the reply of "We are busy". They need to make this good by getting the correct part or fabricating one. The AC unit was well over $3000. I have made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I then asked him directly, "Have I done business with you before?" No response. So I asked again. No response. It turns out, I have no record of doing business with Conrad Heating & Cooling, because we have never done business with this company! I told him I would not be scheduling anything with Conrad. This representative didn't even know what type of unit we have, confirming there was no prior relationship. The familiar tone of the initial text was a deliberate tactic to create a false sense of trust. And I find that very offensive! I'd encourage other homeowners, especially seniors who are frequently targeted by this kind of approach, to read unsolicited texts carefully. If a company implies they've worked with you before, ask specific questions before agreeing to anything. In this case, the deception became obvious very quickly.
