I wish I could write about a similar experience as others have, but my experience with this company has been less than stellar. I contacted him prior to Christmas for a second opinion on a furnace. Originally, I was told the furnace needed to be replaced but Priority said it was an issue regarding airflow. At this time I am still unsure as to what the actual problem is as no work has been done. It was not an emergency nor urgent but it did take him over four weeks to finally get to our house. There were missed appointments, a lack of follow through and very poor communication. He missed a scheduled appointments, missed stopping by on a Saturday as he had promised and had issues with a broken windshield that prevented him from showing up. The problem has not been resolved as yet but I have decided to tackle the problem myself. I will pay the invoice he sent me today but will not be calling him again. While my issue was not an emergency, it still deserved an appropriate response like any other customer would receive. UPDATE: Two minutes after posting this review I have both a text message and a voicemail from the company asking to resolve the issue. I wish this offer had come sometime during the previous month during which I've had no contact from him at all. read more

Tom came by to check out our furnace today. After changing the filter last week, I found that the power would turn on but it would turn off after a couple minutes. Tom had 3 other jobs before us, but when he finished early he gave us a call saying that he'll be able to come earlier. He arrived right on time, put on shoe covers to make sure our floors are kept clean, and went straight to work. In about 5 minutes he was able to figure out the cause, and after 15minutes he was able to fix it. The job was done right and the price was fair. He knows his stuff and even our 20+yr old furnace. *NOTE: i am only giving this company 4 stars out of 5 because i do NOT want this review to be filtered out by yelp's algorithm that tosses too many 5 star reviews for this company.* there are few stand up guys in the service industry, and i assure you, tom is one of them. the water heater in the home my partner owns, has been on the fritz for over a year due to lack of maintenance between the previous owners and ourselves. i had more than one company perform an inspection and offer a quote for a new water heater plus installation, but tom came out and charged us NOTHING to just verify the kind we needed and confirm if what we needed would even fit in the home after i got estimates and information from other contractors. since the developer left so little space for any upgraded or new units to fit in the utility closet, tom went above and beyond to research what we could replace our high BTU water heater with, called all his known suppliers, came up with a quote that beat all the others i'd received in price, and gave me multiple payment options to get the work completed. my partner was out of the country and especially difficult to reach during this entire process, not to mention unnecessarily picky and indecisive with every piece of information i relayed from tom, contributing to a lot of delays and back and forth. i understand large purchases for your home warrant some stress and skepticism, but through it all, tom was patient, kind, informative, PROFESSIONAL and EXTREMELY generous with his time. i even told him i was shocked he hadn't kicked us to the curb! i do not recommend our missteps in this process, but i do highly recommend tom and priority heating. he fulfilled every expectation of 5 star service and was always willing to accommodate me as a client with honesty and candor. thanks tom for being one of the lone good guys in a sea of con artists. read more

He responded to my call right away (he may have even picked up the phone right when I called, I can't remember), spent THIRTY minutes with me on the phone going through my problem to better understand all of the issues before coming out. Tom is passionate about his work. We've used Tom for service and for installation of a new furnace and air conditioner. We found Tom to service our older furnace and air conditioner after another company said they were too old to service (even though they were in working condition). We really appreciated the fact that he did not give us a hard sell to replace the system in the house we had recently purchased. A year and a half later we decided it was time to finally replace the furnace and air conditioner. We got three bids and Tom's was most competitive and we already knew him and trusted him. Tom installed a new furnace, air conditioner and humidifier. He made a good recommendation for an air conditioner that would suit our space restrictions. He fine tuned the system and corrected an issue with an incorrectly sized furnace . We now are enjoying quiet, warm and efficient 2-stage heating. It is really quite the upgrade from our 23 years old system. Priority is a small business. I notice some reviewers reported negative experiences with scheduling. Schedule a few weeks out for regular maintenance. Tom has been working on our unit for a few years. A few years ago when we had a motor burnout and leak he completely rebuilt the ac unit instead of just replacing it with a new one to save us a bunch of money and the thing worked wonderfully. Just recently, after the girl above us water heater broke, he came out immediately to check the furnace, immediately ordered parts and had the thing up and running within a day. Had a great experience with Tom, the owner. My AC unit had been freezing up. I called another company and it was like a 4 year wait for service (slight exaggeration lol). But Tom was able to stop by in between other service calls within 2 hours. very personable and professional. He talked me through and showed me what the likely problem was and the best steps to address it. Great service! I own a 1 bed condo in Ravenswood for about 2 years. It came with a 16 year old Hv/ac unit. It's worked great for the 2 years and then about 10 day ago started making a rapid clicking noise when the air would power on. My concern with calling some of the other companies was getting gauged on the price since I know nothing about heat/air or getting the hard sell for a new unit considering the age of this one. Found reviews here on yelp looking for companies in my neighborhood. First called Oasis...decent reviews , however NO call back in 24 hours! Then found priority and only 11 reviews, however they seemed sincere and some mentioned Tom. Went with my gut instinct and decided to call them. Tom answered my call on a Tues afternoon and was here Weds morning to look at unit and give me an estimate. He explained everything and as it turned out I needed a new motherboard. (All parts on my 16 yr. old unit were original...and they looked it! lol) He had to go out for the part and was back in less that an hour. It was fixed 15 minutes later. All at a very fair price when you consider the part, labor, service call and travel time for the part...there was no price gauging here, trust me! Hopefully I'll get a few more years outta' the ole' girl! My air is now fixed, but more importantly I found a great company and service tech in Tom that I can call when I have a problem...and when the time comes and he tells me its time to replace, I'll know he's telling me the truth! I called Tom in the AM, explained my heating problem and he was there by 11:00 AM same day, on New Years Eve no less. He was honest, prompt and very trust worthy. I had my furnace tune up in the fall 2015 from a well known HVAC company, at that time they claimed I needed a new furnace, my furnace was old, had cracks and leaking Carbon Monoxide. Of course they used the sales pitch that they could get someone out same day, within 4 hours. Well, low and behold, turns out none of the issues they told me I had were true, and on top of that they never cleaned the Flame Sensor, which turns out to be the only issue there was. I called Tom at Priority Heating when air blower motor in the central air unit in our condo started to make loud noises and generate scary blue sparks in the midst of a heat wave, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Tom answers his mobile phone even when on a job, and when I described my problem he agreed to come over the next morning. He arrived on schedule and immediately diagnosed and fixed the problem. It could have been a major breakdown, but Tom correctly observed that in fact it was a small issue in the electronics which he was able to repair in minutes. He also gave me some good advice on periodic maintenance of our unit, which I followed right away. The charge for all of this was very reasonable. Result was a cool apartment despite the heat wave.
