    S and J Plumbing & Sewer

I called S and J to come out to my condo to fix a leaky water valve under my sink and to remount…read moretwo toilets that had started wobbling. Joseph was the technician assigned to the job, and he was very professional and easy to work with. Because the valve needed to be replaced, we had to shut off the building's water. I showed Joseph the shutoff location, but for some reason he wasn't able to locate the correct valve even though it was exactly where I pointed. As a result, he had to return the next day after I confirmed the correct shutoff with our onsite maintenance team. This was a bit frustrating, as I had to notify my neighbors more than once that the water would be shut off, inconveniencing them unnecessarily. Joseph was able to remount both toilets, which was great--no more rocking. On the next available day, he returned, successfully shut off the water, and replaced the valve. I will say that even though I signed the quote, $1400 to replace a leaky valve and remount two toilets felt a little steep to me. I financed the job through their service, but on the first day they required a $400 down payment. What wasn't explained to me at the time was that paying that amount dropped me below their $1000 financing threshold. Joseph had to remove a $25 promo just to get me back over the minimum so the financing could go through. It would have been nice to know that before I paid the $400.

The service was great from inception to completion. The tech working that installed the toilet was…read moreamazing doing a thorough job and even made sure to clean up under where the toilet was so any lingering scents, grime, bacteria, etc. beneath were gone. In the beginning I was a bit skeptical of a $49 quote fee but the price was right and I did use them so they credited it to the bill. I'm having them come back out to replace the water heater soon. 10 out of 10 and 5 stars.

SBJ Plumbing - Water heater install

Used SBJ a second time and still highly recommend. Brad gave me a very reasonable price to install…read morea new sump pump and back up. He even suggested a place for me to purchase it on my own. Showed up the next day and had it installed. Honest, easy to deal with, and great communication. Thanks Brad

I asked SBJ Plumbing to install a vanity sink, drain and water connections. Brad did the install,…read moreand charged $1100 which I thought was high but I paid him right before he left. An hour or so after he left, I ran the water in the vanity sink and there was a noticeable leak. He said he would come back a few days later to take a look. He returned and tightened the connections. I again ran the water after he left, and again there was dripping under the drain so I asked him back again. He came back again and did some more tightening and said it should be ok now. I again ran the water after he left and there was still a drip. I then texted him saying that I would like a refund of $350 of the $1100 he charged because the pipes were still leaking and he had already claimed twice that the problem was fixed when it wasn't. He refused and then tried to gaslight me saying actually there was no leaking. So if you want a plumber who doesn't stand by his work, then this is the guy for you (My response to his comments): For the record, here is the text exchange between Brad and Me (and yes I did say "please consider giving me a refund because I don't want to give you bad reviews"--and that is a reasonable response on my part given that I received service that is below what the average person would expect [i.e. 3 visits by the plumber and the sink trap is still dripping]. (From Craig): Brad, The vanity is still leaking and I can't devote any more time to this project, therefore I am requesting a partial refund of the money you charged me. I think a $350 refund would be reasonable. Craig (From Brad): I disagree, the last 2 times I came over there wasn't even a leak. I have gone beyond being reasonable and in reality I should be paid for 2 service calls. (From Craig): Many would ask for a larger if not full refund under these circumstances. Obviously there was a very noticeable leak after the first visit and a much smaller but still noticeable leak after the next 2 visits. Please reconsider because I don't want to give you bad reviews
