Then was told my appointment was showing Wednesday 5/20 at 5:45? Where did that come from? Zero text, zero call. Zero confirmation. Let me just say, it took all I had to keep it together. Their front desk person didn't deserve it so I remained calm. Way to ruin a teenage trying to get a simple haircut before graduation.

I was greeted by an employee in a white coat so she walked me over to the Benefit Cosmetics area and called over Makenzie, the brow specialist. Makenzie told me that Ulta has been offering free brow trims since either March or April 2026 so I got one! I told her how I brush my brows and the effect I get using the Anastasia Brow Freeze Gel. I asked her about Brow Tints and she mentioned Brow Lamination with Tinting. It lasts about 8 weeks and you don't have to bother with using Brow Gel. The employee with the white coat was one of her clients so I asked her about it after we were finished. She said basically it's like a Perm for your eyebrows but you can put vaseline to condition it or move them to another shape. She likes the convenience of not hassling with her straight eyebrow hairs in the morning. Afterwards, Makenzie told me that one of the Ulta Beauty Reward Birthday perks is a free eyebrow waxing. I asked the front counter about it as they just recently received a memo about this offering. They didn't know how it applies to all members so they said to call Customer Service which I did chat with after I was finished at the store. I perused the store and asked about one product in the Dermalogica section. The helpful employee told me about Chemical Sunscreens and how they can penetrate the skin making you feel warmer/hotter. I always wondered why I felt baked but figured it was somehow protecting me. Mineral Sunscreens sit on top of the skin reflecting the UV rays so though it may look like a whitish cast, you won't feel warm. I told her the Zinc Oxides in Mineral Sunscreens were the highest protection on the SPF chart in my Dermatologist's office. My Derm Dr also confirmed that. The employee also showed me another line of skincare where the ingredients are clean and said that the owner didn't want to offer an SPF product because the standards for SPF safety hasn't been updated since something like 1979!! She wasn't going to put something out there that she wasn't comfortable with. Wow, I learned something new!! This Ulta location is closest to me and I appreciate the attentiveness and friendliness of their associates. They usually have a lot of products available and I like the BOPIS convenience and deals.
