It's hard to believe that I'm the first one to have a complaint, I got three estimates he came in second but he was a lot more knowledgeable so I went with him. Wanted new heat pump to get the rebates my old unit was still working Paperwork was done in may took him a while because it was summertime. He got around to it July 6, which wasn't an issue but close to my vacation time. I had a Lennox heat pump unit installed. Also had an issue with the whole house fan that didn't have enough vents in the attic wanted him to resolve that ,he came up with an attic fan that would work perfect with that unit. That'll be an extra thousand dollars OK when installing it his guys left the attic door open with the whole house fan on.The house was full of insulation not once but twice had insulation all through the house he paid for cleaning service and had his guys clean up the next time where I feel like I got burned was the proposed amount that was set forth you really have to make sure you understand where the rebates are coming and going because the contract amount was different. I just assumed it would be more than the proposed amount and the rebates were coming to me, but that wasn't the case the financing company that we went through was set up through him. Credit score on me and my wife was a little low, so it came in at 10.9% interest since l found out the rebates were going to him asked him why the price difference he said there was a dealer fee of 1700 l didn't See it in the contract he said Of course you don't that's between me and them,shows me a copy of his ledger see it's right there I wouldn't of signed that contract if I knew I was paying an extra $1700 on top of the $15,000 interest plus the fan didn't resolve the whole house fan issue in fact it use to have low med & high Fan speed now just high speed anyone with his knowledge should've been able to measure the whole house and figure out that I needed more vents not a gable fan, so I feel like I got burned for at least $2700.plus my smud bill has tripled heater runs 8 hrs a day to maintain 70 degrees.The heaters a joke if I have up stairs and downstairs on it blows 74 degrees at the register and runs a average of 8 hrs a day in December.STICK With GAS read more

I don't think we've ever had such great customer service. We got three other quotes, all with similar prices but when we went to Consumer Reports to look up the brands, none compared to Lennox. Also, once the other guys gave us a quote, we had to chase them down to try to get them to come back and actually do the work so we could pay them. I don't think I left one voicemail for Sherm. I would highly recommend using this company for you heating/AC needs. Sherm was very knowledgable when it was time to replace our heating/AC system including new ducting. He gave us several options and was very patient answering our questions regarding the pros/ cons of each choice. He designed the ducting to insure even temperature distribution throughout the house and encourages you to let him know if further adjustments are necessary. He is focused in making sure you are happy with the outcome not just making a quick sale. Jose & Pablo did a great job with the installation. They were on time & considerate. They even loaned & set up a portable AC unit since we had an unexpected heat wave right when installation was being done which was greatly appreciated. A couple of years prior to the replacement, we were having trouble with the unit & we had Sherm out to do a repair. He gave us a fair assessment of what was wrong with the unit & the cost of repair. No muss, no fuss, no rolling of eyes or wringing of hands!!! We dialed a number in an ad in our modular-home park flyer and hit it lucky! Sherm Grady, owner of Pro Air, in our area, recently replaced the complete HAV system in our home and we couldn't be happier. The old system was falling apart, leaking tons of expensive freon, and the ductwork under the house was in terrible condition, though we had no clue till the technicians crawled under and ended up having to tear it all out. Here's what's nice: Sherm came on a Thursday, explained what he would do and had the techs here the following Tuesday. They completed the work Wednesday afternoon and managed somehow to keep the house comfortable in 100 degree weather. Sherm's Pro Air is a cool (!) operation from beginning to end. Over decades, that has not commonly been our experience with HAC companies. Sherm lays out exactly what will be done and why, and the cost, and writes it out. He doesn't hem and haw about surprising extras that crop up. Refreshing. Jose and Pablo, the expert techs who did the installation, were so comfortable to work with that we felt fine with their having to be back and forth in the house. They are resourceful and imaginative in solving installation problems that aren't in the training manuals, some requiring trips to Home Depot. My wife said to emphasize that they are respectful and courteous. There was at least half a day's extra work with the ducts under the house, crawling around in dirt with hardly any clearance, and never a murmur or hint of disgruntlement,. Pro-Air came in and fixed all the problems I had and left me with a better system at a low. Over the years, I've had three other AC companies come work on my system in Folsom and I was not happy with the quality of any of their work. For the latest fix, after a lighting strike last year, I got bids from three companies. The first 2 were just BS. They did not have good knowledge of AC. They didn't know how to fix my system but they would try. Pro-Air came in and fixed everything, reengineered the ducts, added two new vents and set up the system for 2 zones. Everything Shem told me agreed with what I knew about AC systems. I wanted 3 zones but Sherm had good reasons for 2 and asked me to try it. After a year, I still wanted 3 zones. We live in a home that is 15 years old now, and we started having problems with our HVAC system a couple years ago; first it was a problem with the condensing unit, last year it was the air handler. With the first issue, Sherm was the one who could come out the soonest and I asked him to give us a quote to replace the system. Sherm gave us 4 prices in ranges of equipment; basic (like we had), good, better and best. We got quotes from other companies as well. At first glance it looked like Pro-Air would be more expensive, but when comparing apples to apples, they were the best. We decided this was the year to replace our system as equipment prices do increase annually and we are doing some other minor remodeling. Well, last night when we were out for dinner, I got an email, from iComfort, saying there was an error with our system. When we got home, the AC wasn't working. BEWARE !!! I bought a total H/AC unit from this company a few years ago and thought they were good ----- UNTIL--- Yes, during the hottest day, last week, we had our AC monk out - a rat ate through a wire. The repair was done in a bit over an hour and about $10 of wire was used. Yes, the repair was done after hours - BUT I never expected to get ripped off as bad as I did. I was quoted $500, if they had to punch a hole thru the wall, run a conduit down the side of the house, patch the hole, come back when the patch was dry and paint it, etc. Well, none of that was necessary. The repairman was able (with my assistance) to run a wire through the attic hole, down to ground level and reconnect it to the compressor. Now, I appreciate them coming out immediately, on the busiest day, to check on my problem and then send out a repairman, at 8 p.m., but I don't appreciate being scalped. Worst case scenario, which included 3 trips to my house, was $500; but oh, even though it was a fairly simple repair, they still charged me $500. Consider, I wasn't a customer who called for an emergency and had never done business with them. I bought almost $10,000 worth of AC unit from them. So much for being a good, prior customer. Do you know anyone who charges $500 an hr., even for overtime? I struggled to explain my situation to them, and with much stress, I managed to get them to accept $300 for the repair, but not without pain. I was told never to call them again, as they wouldn't respond to any future service requests. Does this sound as if they care about customers or just how much money they can make? Avoid the pain. Our air conditioner went out in August. I called several different companies for bids and I am so thrilled that we went with Pro-Air Heating and Air Conditioning. Sherm and his crew are the most genuine, professional guys I have had the pleasure of having in my home for a week. Our heating system was over 40 years old and had some issues, including rat chewed, deteriorated ducting. Sherm never pushed and spent weeks answering questions, gave us quotes on multiple options, answered more questions, helped with the SMUD financing paperwork... all with a smile and patience. We decided to replace the entire HVAC system, including moving the AC unit pad to the other side of the house. The work was done immaculately. I never thought I would think of ducting as looking good but oh, my goodness, it does! There were some odd issues that came up along the way with framing issues on some of our returns and old return sizing that the crew took in stride. They were perfectionists in making sure that air is flowing in an efficient manner. I am so glad that we went went Pro-Heating and Air. I don't think this house has ever been so balanced. I called and spoke with Sherm's wife, who was very helpful, and she scheduled me for the next morning. Sherm arrived on time, and was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. I just called to get some help with our air conditioner. The rep who answered the phone asked me what was wrong and I explained the situation. He said I needed to change the filter and I told him I didn't know how to and didn't know where it was as we just moved into this house and he didn't really listen but somewhat scolded me and said that it needs to be changed every couple of months and it is a few dollars. Sherm sold and installed a Lennox heater and AC unit. He slipped during the heater install, putting a foot through my ceiling. He did immediately patch it up, to my satisfaction, so that was OK....accidents happen. I am very satisfied with the heater / AC / and thermostat unit that he sold and installed. Getting the manufacturer and Roseville City rebates took months...in fact Sherm forgot about me...After 10 months, I get back on him, and he signed me up in time for the city rebate, but unfortunately it was too late for the Lennox manufacturer rebate. Though he repaired it that day, we decided to consider a new system. He gave us estimates on four different systems. We were leaving for a week so we scheduled our install for ten days later. I contacted Sherm solely because he was listed on the Lennox website as one of their recommended repair companies. I had received an estimate from another local HVAC company to replace a control board on my furnace. The other company had quoted my $540 in labor only, the part was under warranty. Over the phone, site unseen Sherm said the labor was way too high. He told me it could be done for less than half of the estimate from the other company. I ended up going with Pro-Air and not only did he come in under the estimate he gave me over the phone, he fixed it for me in less than 20 minutes, where the other company told me it would be a 4-5 hour fix. Pro-Air did a big job for us: replacement of two HVAC systems and new ducting. Our house is unusual and presented all sorts of unique problems. Other well reviewed businesses on Yelp talked about cutting thru floors, going thru walls, and talked of the difficulty. Sherm was so amazing, in that he totally enjoyed the challenges presented and came up with some novel solutions (I got one unit moved from a closet to the attic as a side effect). Jose is some kind of magician, having squeezed thru long runs of 10"x14" spaces to lay out new ducts and new wiring. He had to explain to me how he did some of the job several times, and I am still not sure I can understand how it was possible. He kept my house intact. My new system is super quiet (a huge change) and all areas of the house stay at the same temperature - a night and day difference from previous.
