The process was straightforward. Everybody I met at the shop was cool and into tracking cars themselves. Luis, the owner, educated me on alignments, gave recommendations, and answered all the questions I had. He even gave me future recommendations for the fitment I'm going for. TIP: Always get an alignment after getting new tires. Not necessary to go to a dealership, best to go to an alignment specialist regardless of make. Come see Mo and staff! They are honest people and knowledgeable. I updated my BMW's tires with Parelli Run Flats. Read BMW forums to see if I need to take my car to a BMW specialist shop or any alignment shop - recommended to take it to an alignment specialist and doesn't have to be BMW shop. I've always taken my previous cars to alignment specialists because they know the work. I decided to try this place out. Making an appointment was easy. Appointment schedule was on time and ended by the hour. There is a small waiting room with a few chairs (sorry no coffee shops close by). The alignment was done, I received a print out with adjusted degrees and etc for my record, Mo was kind to fill my curious mind about alignments, etc. He even gave tips about the when rotate tires, how much life span I have on my tires, and what to look out for. Pro Align by Pro Mechanics I usually don't write these kind of things but I consider this to be more along the lines of a civic duty than a review. It's about a mechanic shop I came on a while back. I believe it is called Pro Align, a name that doesn't quite fit what this place really is. I had two jobs to do on the underside of my vehicle. The last shop that did one of the same jobs (and is well known in San Diego) only lasted about three months and it failed. That's when I started looking and eventually talked to four shops. I found Moe's shop (Pro Align) quite by accident in that I parked just down the street and had to pass by his shop to get to a restaurant. His sign indicated he did mostly front end alignment and I almost didn't go in because I needed mechanic work not front end alignment, but I had some time. And when I walked in, I couldn't believe what I saw. The first thing I noticed was the floor. The entire floor was painted. This is the kind of thing one doesn't often see in a mechanics shop. Then my eyes caught site of a Mercedes Benz with a beautiful red paint job and a completely chrome plated engine with its head and rocker arm assembly removed. Gorgeous. It was the kind of thing you might see at a hot rod car show. In bay number three was an off-road truck with huge fat-knobby tires and a chrome plated engine. It seemed to be completely tricked out and ready for desert off-roading. There could have been a $100,000 sitting in those two bays alone. I thought: People who own automotive iron like this don't trust their baby to just anyone. I started to wonder if maybe they knew something I didn't know, so I decided to find out. When Moe the owner arrived he showed me his place. His attention for detail clearly stood out. He was plenty proud of his operation and showed me his $70,000 hydraulic lift he was justifiably proud of. The machine looked like something out of a Star Wars movie and turned out to be exactly what was needed to do one of the jobs I needed done. When I asked how much my job would cost he went to his office where he pulled out a Chilton Time & Labor book. These books usually cost thousands of dollars. So he looked up the time for my job and told me both jobs would be a total of four hours times $80 an hour or $320 which came in around the same as other quotes I'd gotten. Only his quote was "by the book", a far more fair way to determine a charge I thought. I then asked Moe if I could watch his mechanics while they worked. Without hesitating he said, "Sure! But don't get in their way or distract them from what they're doing, unless of course if they ask you a question." This was the first time I'd gotten an answer like that from any mechanic shop. The answer is usually - "Sorry, our insurance won't allow it." I thought maybe he's got good insurance or maybe he just doesn't mind me watching the work I'm paying for. His two mechanics Luis and Bryan both appeared to be quite competent, especially Luis the chief mechanic who turned out to be very thorough and an excellent troubleshooter. This was something I spotted right off as before retirement I was a certified electronic technician and could tell just by the logical way he explained "what" he was doing and "why" that he had the mentality of a good troubleshooter. My trucks brakes are rather complex. Luis did them almost like he did these kind of brakes every day. He might well be a good mechanic to bring a problem to that other mechanics can't seem to solve. You know, like those pesky check engine lite problems that stays on & won't go off. Or maybe that noise you just can't stop wondering about. At the conclusion of the job each mechanic came over and checked the others work. Then Moe came out asked Luis a couple of questions and laid down on a creeper, rolled under my rig and checked, pulled and tugged on things. Obviously he was making certain sure everything was right. I was impressed. He then came back out and ask me for the keys, got in and drove off for a test drive. He returned about ten minutes later, shut off the engine and handed me the keys as he passed by and simply said "Its ready". And indeed it was ready. With several thousand miles on both jobs I can now attest to that. You know, it's a real nice, secure kind of feeling driving down the road knowing that my babies problem is gone and things are back to normal. Well, I guess that's about all I have to say about this outfit except for one last thing, the sign. The sign might well be changed with "Pro Align" on top and added just below that "Pro Mechanics". Possibly in big bold letters. read more

This review is years overdue. I have been bringing my 2007 Nissan Xterra now for years for maintenance and repairs to Mo, after his Auto Shop was recommended to me by a family member. I had plenty of issues with my car over the years as I use it for my work and have been hard on it. Mo's technician team always finds the issues swiftly and repair it for long term use. Friendly customer service, the car is always done on time and all repairs, oil changes and additional check-up are excellent work. I drove from Valley Center (45 minutes away) to have my 2009 Mercedes E350 aligned with only 33k miles on it. I chose Pro Align because this is their primary work and they had a good price. After getting the alignment and driving over the weekend, I noticed very little improvement. Driving on any road, it still pulls right, the same as when I brought it in. I was told that for it to be any better it would be $200 additional. The workers were kind and I was able to get in right away. However, they knew that they were not able to make much of a difference. Yet, they stilled charged me full price. I now have to pay someone else to get it done correctly. Not happy! read more

I have been going to Mo and Luis now for....a good 14 years. They are 1st rate.....deserve 5 full stars without question. They have worked on many different vehicles for me from vintage Corvettes to late model regulars. Their communication is great and the have consistently saved me money. Several times I have gone to them with a problem expecting a repair bill of $500 - $1000 or more, and Mo has spent 5 minutes under the hood, played with and adjusted this or that, and bingo....fixed...no charge. This is an extremely honest mechanic. I took in my 05 Cadillac SRX because the dealer said the struts were leaking and needed to be replaced and I thought an independent shop would be cheaper. This was my first time in this shop. Moe put it on a lift and showed me that the struts weren't leaking saving me $1200 per axle over what the dealer said it needed. I then asked him to help me with a nagging squeak in the steering column every time i turned the wheel. I have taken this to another independent shop and the dealer. Both of them said the repair was $1000 or more. Moe traced the source to the rack and pinion and said they needed to be replaced. I approved the repair estimate of $900 and they ordered the part. During disassembly they saw that a rubber bushing at the column to rack junction was dried out. They greased it and charged me $45 for the repair. Many shops may have just replaced the rack at that point and charged me the 900. I trust Moe now and would recommend his shop to my friends and family. read more

This is my first Yelp review, and probably my only one... My family's been taking our cars to Pro Align for probably 5 or 6 years now and they always get the job done quickly and honestly. Recently I took in my '91 F150 that was handed down to me from my Grandfather and boy did it need some work- I was in a rush as I needed to hit the road a few days later and they got it done right on time (replacing belts, AC, fixing windshield wiper motors and all the leaks, just to name a few) even with all the spare parts they needed to find for it. Needless to say my 4 hour drive away from the shop was filled with a purring engine and an ice cold AC (big deal for a '91 truck). Pro Align has my business for life! read more

Moe and his team are THE MOST HONEST mechanics one could hope for. Having typically been a we-go-to-the-dealer-for-service family, I went to Moe @ Pro Align after getting an (expensive) estimate from the dealer. Moe diagnosed the problem exactly the same as the dealer (with no previous knowledge of what I'd been told) and the estimate was half the price of the dealer. (When I went back and told the dealer, they said to go to Pro Align, as the dealer couldn't beat the price, as they had union costs that affected their charges).
