They were honest and transparent about issues that actually needed to be done AND suggested what they would do if it was their own home. Others offered to level the house by digging all around, tearing concrete and porches, damaging the brick outside, and tried to sell me all new wood, which Jose and another home inspection confirmed had been replaced by previous owners already. Mr. Bill said that the leveling would cause more issues in the long term. He didn't mind doing more work if it was actually needed and produced the results. If you have ever shopped around for flooring of any kind, you know how expensive it is. We found Bob Wilson of Wilson flooring to be extremely knowledgeable about all types of flooring. We recently purchased flooring from him for our home. If you are shopping for wood, you know how expensive it can be. Many places with big signs and fancy names with ads on TV will take full advantage of you. We found other places to be twice as much as we paid with Wilson flooring. If you are shopping for flooring in Houston, you owe it to yourself to call Bob. His warehouse is located approximately one mile east of the Gulf Freeway on Fuqua. You will have a tough time find ing better pricing for your flooring needs. Now, lets talk about installation. You can buy all the flooring you need and do it yourself or hire your own installers. We used his preferred installers and I am thankful we did. His preferred installers came to our home and did a masterful job of installing the engineered hardwood we had purchased. The installers used the absolute minimum number of transitions between the types of flooring (e.g. when transitioning from wood to carpet or tile). Also, even though they installed the wood through a doorway, around an island in the kitchen and joined it back together in the dining area/living area, they did not use a transition. This is a sign of an installer that knows what they are doing. Wilson flooring has multiple preferred installers depending upon the type of flooring you are purchasing. We purchased engineered hardwood but he also has vinyl flooring, various types of tile, and carpeting. If you are looking for new floors, you owe it to yourself to at least talk to Wilson Flooring before making a decision. We are extremely happy we did. I somehow scratch it and had to call TubNotch Renovations to see about getting it repaired. I didn't ask for it to be repaired under warranty, and I ask how much the repair would be. Jason called me back and said under the circumstances he would have it repair at no charge. He wanted me to be a happy client. Then he mentioned my review. We discussed it and Jason wanted to make things right. He said he would schedule a repair man to come by. Several days went by and I hear nothing. When I called, they wouldn't answer my call (they have called I.D. and the phone operator evidently didn't want to (or was instructed not to) intervene. Jason called me back and said "yes, he was going to schedule a repair guy to come out but we needed to talk about my review". WOW, now I'm being blackmailed. He will only repair my counter if I remove my BBB review. I told him I would be willing to update my review once something had been done to take care of my countertop. As of now, nothing has changed to warrant an edit. He again said he would get someone out but it never happened. It's been over a week and they now won't answer or return my call. I've ask for information about the owner and didn't get an answer about that information either. I don't know if they don't want me to talk to the owner or it the owner doesn't want to be bother. I feel I have made a huge mistake refinishing my countertop. It wouldn't have been that much more (because it's such a small area) to have stone or granite instead. I thought I was having problems because the refinish is just too fragile. But in speaking with another company, it seems as thought it has to do with how it's refinished. He said his countertop can be used as a cutting board. So it appears TubNotch Renovation put the color down, then the following day, the glaze. This can cause a chemical reaction and/or the surface not to be as stable as when the glaze and color are mixed together. Apparently, the refinishing process can be done several ways and if not done right it can really cause problems. I don't know TubNotch Renovations' process, but I do know they don't stand by their work. A company that won't return calls (when work is under warranty) is a red flag that they might not be a Top Notch company. If you are getting a countertop refinished, beware, if you are not happy and give a review that reflects that, the company may not want to provide ongoing service (even if under warranty -- which my bubbles would be under warranty). At least this is my experience with TubNotch Renovations.

I had accepted the possibility that the building would need some foundation repairs because the sewer line underneath had been replaced three years earlier and I knew that could cause some foundation issues. Also there had been some settling in an upstairs apartment which caused some concern. He had an opportunity to tell me anything and I would have believed him. When I complained about it all I got from the Manager or Owner or whoever it was, was a oops, sorry shit happens. We talked to them. No true apology no we are so sorry. He even said this isn't the first time! Then it took them months to bill me for the work. When they finally did they never got around to sending the engineering report even though the engineer said it would be completed within 24 hours. Oh they also magically were somehow never able to pull a permit so they deducted money from my bill for that. They decided to not put one pilling in on installation day without telling me, however they did remove the charge for it. I guess that's honest. I just now 5 months later got my warranty paperwork. Very timely. I should have gone with Atlas Foundation Repair. I had forgotten to do any review until they just sent an email to provide a review. I am sure they are not happy now.
