The service SUCKS! I placed an order online, the computer crashed while processing the transaction and the order was not completed. I sent an e-mail to clear the order and after 1 week no answer, so I called: FORGET IT! I wonder if there's ever someone working there! Finally, I can get the order cancleed (after another week!) and place a new one. I receive then an email saying that they are out of stock and it would take 10days to get the parts form Italy: "please let us know if you are ok with that". I immediately answered back with "Yes, go on and notify me when you do"... Nothing for few days... I tried to call all morning now and FINALLY someone answered: they did not place the order yet!!!! 1 only advice to Pro Italia people: ANSWER THE MAIL AND THE PHONE!!!! read more

I was in their shop for 20 minutes and during this time three staff members were mesmerized behind their computers and two other staff members were busy stocking the shelves. They don't call you when a bike is available. They had an 06 speed triple that was being worked on. It would then be made available to sell. I gave the salesman my number to call me when it was ready. I was literally the only person who knew about this bike. I never received a call. Saw it listed in their preowned inventory online a few weeks later. I suppose I shouldn't expect much more from the ducati sales team than I do from the average ducati riders. Side note to whoever bought it, I doubt they mentioned the JB Quickweld that the prior owner had put on the side covers to fix a drop. They were scraping it off when I first saw it. read more

Bought a Ducati Scrambler from these guys. The bike itself has been great but the clutch started going out after 9,000 miles. Wuarantee did not cover it. Not saying it is the dealership's fault, but my satisfaction was not met, as I bought this bike brand new only 9 months ago. I also spoke to various mechanics who were very surprised Ducati wouldn't wuarantee a clutch burnt out so prematurely. The dealership has been generally helpful besides that. Just maybe think twice before purchasing a Ducati in general, and be prepared to pay. read more

First off, let me just say that these guys are awesome and if I could give 6 stars I would. 20/10 customer service and all around friendly staff. I inquired about a trade in and stupidly didn't even submit a credit application. I live in San Francisco so it's almost a 400 mile journey there. I got there and handled all the paperwork with Ben and Rick. I had light credit but these guys worked hard to get me approved and they did! If I would have done it online I probably wouldn't have this awesome rsv4 I'm currently riding. Talking to them in person really made it possible. Pro Italia is really awesome. Anyone who is a serious rider needs to make this place a mandatory pit stop. The first time you go for a visit you can completely miss the store. Yeah the place is SMALL! Haha. . . But size aside, the staff are BIG in every way. I always get a "Hey! Welcome!" with a smile =) First thing you notice is all the eye candy. Beautiful bikes galore. . .and they let you sit on them. Plus there's lots of gear to try on. Prices are average for the type of products they sell. If you want quality, you pay a little extra. That's just the way it is. I now have boots that actually fit AND look sexy. Almost three hundred bones, but at least the cappuccino is free! Hahaha. . . What I really need is to test ride a new Monster one of these days. . . Test ride you say? Yup! You'd be hard pressed to find people that give test rides, let alone on 20K+ Italian motorcycles! Pro Italia never asked us if they could obtain our phone number to follow up. When Ben asked us for our number it was for the demo purposes. He never mentioned anything that he/ the office will be contacting us to follow up if we never come back to purchase the bike. "As I understand, he even recommended that you check out Westlake Ducati as it was near to you." Yes, he mentioned this after we insisted that we would like to check other dealers. "Your husband called on November 25 to say that he was coming in to purchase the bike. He did not come in and Ben was simply following up after his call with a number of calls. I will try to make this review as brief as possible, though I can literally compose a novel concerning my experience with Pro Italia. First off, let me stress that the Customer Service at Pro Italia is more than OUTSTANDING. Outstanding would be an understatement. I submitted my inquiry online with the intention of purchasing a 2015 Ducati Monster 821. Within moments, I received a phone call from Ben, a very friendly, informative, and genuine salesman. I let him know that I was at work and could not speak at that very moment. He called me shortly after I got off work and drove straight to Pro Italia. Now, I am not going to mention all the fantastic, great things that happened while I was there, because this review would be as long as The Brothers Karamatzov. I did not have any negative experiences whatsoever, in any shape or form. I will, however, list how Ben and the rest of the team at Pro Italia went above and beyond to help me purchase the perfect bike and service plan. I was offered great deals on numerous bikes, all of which were attractive enough to make split second decisions. After explaining the purpose of my purchase, Ben, the service department, and the Parts department informed/educated me as to which bike, which accessories, and service plans would suit my needs me the most. Ben, hats off to you... I tend to have extreme buyer's remorse when I finance anything, but this was the first time in my life that I have had ZERO regrets. After the paperwork was done with regard to financing, I was presented service plan options, wheel and tire warrantees, etc. I thought, oh boy, this is going to cost me much more than i thought... After a thorough explanation of the plans, I chose the wheel and tire warrantee, which is a really great deal. Less than two weeks after purchasing my bike, I got a flat tire on my way to work. I called Pro Italia and within an hour (in rush hour middle-of-Hollywood traffic,) the kindest service person arrived with a van, specially catered to high-end bikes. Note that i had called AAA to tow the bike to Pro Italia, though the driver advised me that he could not guarantee the bike will not get dented or damaged. Pro Italia opened at 9am; I got my flat tire at 7:30am. Knowing that I was late to work, Pro Italia immediately sent over the serviceman, who kindly gave me a ride to the nearest Hertz rental car service. I was SO happy that I purchased the wheel and tire warrantee, and so thankful that it was recommended due to my bike being a daily rider; the guys at Pro Italia know what you need, as long as you tell them what you are buying the bike for. My tire is now placed as centerpiece on the floor, showing customers why they should all purchase the wheel and tire warrantee; you will not believe what popped my tire (see the pictures I am about to post). Pro Italia's service department completely replaced my tire, and even delivered the bike to my home in North Hollywood while I was at work (I would have missed the pickup time since I work late, and thank goodness my roommate was home to accept the bike). I cannot think of a better way to treat a customer. I have never been treated more exclusively and I feel so appreciated. Pro Italia, you have my full support. Everything I purchased from your store has already paid itself off, emotionally, financially, and consciously. I hope the pictures I will post in a moment will tell the story... If you want a beautiful motorcycle, and you want the BEST customer service and follow up, even weeks after you purchase your bike, there is no where else to go other than Pro Italia. This dealer was the perfect place for my boyfriend who bought a Ducati Streetfighter since he was debating between Ducati, MV Agusta and Aprilia. He was able to test drive them and base his decisions on the feel (he really felt like he had a moment with the streetfighter and felt like he has already ridden it for a long time...haha). Ben was extremely helpful in breaking down the different motorcycles and tailor the decision based on what kind of rider my bf was going to be. He really goes through the pros and CONS. He also had genuine points about some of the used bikes on craigslist (when we brought it up) and didn't bring a "hard sell" on us. My two cents here...I was extremely impressed that when Ben was talking about the bikes, the ENTIRE time he made eye contact with the both of us. There are many times sales people will only talk to the guy (because how often do you find a short asian girl who rides a gsxr..), but this place isn't one of them. Right on! I rarely Yelp, but when I do often shake my head at some of the reviews. As they say, "consider the source." The sales guys are friendly, know their bikes (and ride), and if you want Italian - and who doesn't? - this is the place. Service has also been great, Sandro makes sure stuff gets sorted out. I wish I could say something good about this place but after one in person visit and one conversation on the phone it's clear they aren't interested in my business. The first time I ventured into their location in Glendale I was flat out ignored the entire time I was in the showroom. Not a single person acknowledged me. I never went back after that. Fast forward to today. I recently purchased a 2016 Ducati Scrambler and need to do some upgrades. I recently got a quote for parts and labor from another shop but decided to possibly have the work done elsewhere. I reached out to Pro Italia and sent over the invoice I had and asked if they'd be able to do the work for a similar price. I called in the morning and got an email address. I sent the email and hadn't heard back. I decided to call and ended up speaking with the service dept manager. It got interesting after that. When I got the guy on the phone the first thing he did was basically complain about having to check in other customers and that he hadn't gotten to my email. Understandable but honestly I don't give a fuck. Don't complain to a potential customer about having to do your job. Not a good look. His attitude on the phone made it clear I was inconveniencing him with talk of motorcycle parts and money. To be honest, the guy sounds like a whiny bitch. At one point he stated he couldn't read the part info on the invoice even though the info is as clear as day. He sounded like he couldn't have been less interested in helping me. I'm about to spend $1000+ on parts and service, sorry to be such a bore. Then he stated that he wouldn't be able to match my original invoice, laughed and insinuated I'd be paying much more. The laugh was a huge tell. Like he was preemptively warning me I'd get ripped off and pay more. Why would I pay more? Parts and labor hours are pretty standard across the board. It was obvious he was just going to throw out some arbitrary number and charge me more for no reason. The guy I spoke with was awful on the phone. I can't imagine what he's like in person. After a brief 5 min phone conversation it's obvious my business isn't wanted and I'll happily take it elsewhere. Strange move but whatever. Plenty of other douchey motorcycle shops in LA. If you're considering doing business with this shop tread lightly. My two very brief experiences have been horrid. I can't imagine how they'd treat you once your bike is on one of their lifts in pieces. I will never be able to understand the logic of turning away a customer that's about to spend $1000+ the first time they're trying to do business with you. If you own a Ducati, this is the place to get it serviced. No, it's not cheap. But their prices are not ridiculous either. If you wanted an economic bike that anyone can service with cheap parts, don't buy a Ducati. These guys know what they are doing, and for serious maintenance (i.e. valve jobs etc.) I would not trust another shop. If you need a new tire on the other hand, most shops should be able to handle that. Customer service on the floor is excellent! They never pressure you to buy stuff, and they're always there to help you if you need it. read more

I bought my first bike (a 2010 Bonnie) and have had various bits of service done at 3 different shops in the LA area. Pro Italia is by far the best of the bunch. Guy, Sandro and Eric are all really knowledgable and willing to share their knowledge. As a new rider, I find that invaluable. Each time I have had work done on my bike, they have talked me through various options (with various price points) and have steered me toward updates that have greatly improved my riding experience without breaking the bank. Most recently, I had an electrical problem that left me stranded. Not only did Sandro pick up my bike free of charge, but Eric returned it to me once the repair was complete, also free of charge. People have commented that some of the guys in the shop are gruff. I would call them "East Coast blunt". They're not rude, they just say it like it is with no sugar coating. It's also a very busy, fast-paced shop and they are trying to get bikes in and out as quickly as possible so that folks can get back on the road. Isn't that what we all want? read more

I placed an order on a jacket for almost $500 and when I got the jacket it was the wrong size. I asked to exchange for an other jacket. They simply said that it didn't qualify for a return. However, while purchasing the jacket not once did I see any sign that the jacket was non returnable/exchangeable! What I did see however was "Free Shipping", "Free Returns" and "Great Service" within their footer... To find what does and doesn't qualify you have to go to some hard to find return policy page. How anyone rates this place with one star I cannot understand. These guys (and ladies) have been fantastic to me. I lurked around PI for a full year without spending a DIME--while riding a Japanese bike, no less--and I got nothing but positivity from everyone I met at both locations. Does that sound like a "pompous" or "arrogant" shop to you? When it came time to actually buy it was very smooth, as was mentioned in another review. Ben gave me the info I wanted without any hard sell; one of the owners Bob was wonderfully encouraging (but not attached) when I slobbered over the bike I really wanted vs. the "sensible" bike I'd originally contemplated; Scott, god bless him, got me onto my new steed in record time when I was ready to pull the trigger. And just like that I'm on my dream bike, grinning like a madman. Honestly, I could go down the line with the good experiences I've had with the people who work here; Erik (parts) is a freekin' rockstar and helped out a buddy of mine in a pinch when he didn't have to; Sandro (service) has always been encouraging to me and patient with all my new-to-Italian-bikes questions; Karen (gear) is consistently supportive of me trying on (and re-trying on) gloves/jackets/helmets every time I'm in the shop without any pressure ever; Colin and Bill and the other guys in sales have always been happy to talk shop when I stop by. Any bike shop could do what they did... they did a good job on my 848 Evo.... Installed all carbon fiber fairings, (one of them is off just a tad but I believe that's aftermarket product fault, not ProItalia), new shifters & brake levers & got my girl back shiny & new. Why they get 5 stars from me however is cuz one Monday... I rolled by not knowing that they were closed on Monday's.... Wanting to purchase a sticker for my bike. The few peeps that were "working" told me they were closed but when I explained the small purchase I wanted to make, they proceeded to open the doors & let me do my thing. Now THAT is above & beyond customer service & they should be commended for that. It wasn't a bother for them in any way & they even showed me other bikes & offered to give me a test ride. This review is for the parts department. Not Sales dept, because I haven't been able to buy a new Ducati from them due to their pricing (I bought 4 at other places), but they are very competitive in parts and they also stand behind the product they sell. My last two visits were simply great. First visit, I wanted to upgrade the stock pegs on my Ducati 1199 since they are very slippery. Eric recommended the Rizoma pegs and I love them. They have super strong grip and look way better than the stocks. My second visit was for StompGrip, but they didn't have them in stock so I left with TechGrip. For couple of reasons I was unhappy with the product, Eric and Ray helped me out swapping them for StompGrip. That's customer service! P.s. Keep an eye on their eBay listings, they have crazy deals. A friend recommended Pro Italia since I was interested in either a Ducati Scrambler or a Triumph Thruxton. Being interested in those two bikes, allowed me to experience both shops. They are a VERY busy shop so things took a little time while they tended to all customers. That being said, every single employee made me feel right at home. This was my first bike, and not once was I made to feel inexperience. Ben answered all my questions with respect and excitement. I've been to Pro Italia 3 times. First 2 times were smooth. Nice people. But, 3 wks ago I dropped my bike off for a clutch problem. I called a couple days later, they said they hadn't looked at it yet, would do so that day and call me back. No call. Flash forward 2.5 wks, I am billed $130 per hour x2 hours and they replaced a $3 spring. At this point just give me my bike back. I pay the staggering bill. I drive home. Park bike. Wake up next business day, start bike to go to work and it dies. My bike is well kept, has 7k miles, spent 3 wks at Pro Italia and now doesn't run. They say their in-depth 7 day diagnosis and 14 day repair isn't related. Super weird that my perfectly running bike no longer starts. read more

Interesting thing about Pro Italia. I was deciding on 3 different bikes but I checked out an Aprilia Shiver at this shop. I realized it fit just RIGHT. So the shop was influential on my decision. Years later, I have brought that bike to Pro Italia since my usual service shop is now gone. I was always told the work was top notch. So I had little worry. Boy my bike came back from the annual service SMOOTH AS SILK and was performing fantastic. I knew they get it when it comes to Italian bikes, obviously. But the result was well worth it. I will now continue to bring my bike here for service. Because of the distance to my home, and above all the QUALITY of the work. Why chance it?, these guys know their stuff and it shows. Very satisfied with the work. But also, they were careful and got back to me very quickly with questions and scheduling. Mike in service department was great! I thought I'd have to wait a few days. This is a great shop. There are flaws but what place is perfect? I bought a used $6000 bike here and i felt like i was buying a $40,000 bike. Everytime i come in they remember my name and say hi and sit and chat for a minute. Yes they do have some problems in the service department but seriously get over the automated phones. Its not arrogance its a practical business. They can't afford to have a receptionist for every department. I have mentioned the problems with service and they say they are working on it. My problem sometimes is with parts. Ray has always given me a cold shoulder and always acts too busy. The ladies in apparel are so sweet and the blonde girl with short hair always grabs stuff for me to try on. The cost of service per hour is high? These are not cheap bikes with cheap parts or american made parts. They import with import taxes and specialized parts and specialized service employees. Training isnt cheap. Just like its more expensive to service lexus over ford and Gucci is more expensive than Banana Republic. Bill owns the store and is there all the time. He always says hello and i always see him working and not just walking around. He is a little shy I feel. His dog Odie is there all the time and I love it! If someone is "eating" they are working during their lunch break. You would have gotten an answering machine but they were nice enough to answer during their break. Do you? The sales department knows everything to know about bikes and will sit and talk even if you arent going to buy. They dont pressure and they dont care what the price, they all just love bikes. I came in about 4 or 5 times before my husband and I bought a bike there. They are a small business and do get busy so they can't all be talking to everyone at once. I LOVE this place The sales guys really are laid back, low pressure but really know their stuff The parts and accessories department is wells stocked and the staff is always super helpful Service........ They are Ducati's right???? They need service from time to time. That being said, I have never had a bad experience. The issues either get fixed the first time or they don't give it back to me, I honestly feel the cost is justified by how well the work gets done Everyone at Pi seems to want to help with suggestions or free coffee :-) I've sent friends in to buy bikes there and they always come back and say thanks. I have recently joined the masses of folks who have gotten their motorcycle license via the MSF class, so I need gear. I have several friends who ride and ALL of them - independent of each other - recommended this place right off the bat when I asked about getting a helmet and jacket. I am now one of those people who will immediately tell you the same thing: go here first. Karen was awesome. I told her I wasn't buying the first day I went there and she still spent about 30-45 minutes helping me with a helmet fit. She also helped me try on jackets. She told me to come back on the weekend of 10/16 as Vanson folks would be there to do repairs and customizations. So I went back this past weekend and ended up buying the helmet she helped me find, as well as a custom fit Vanson jacket that the Vanson folks will be taking care of for me. Make no mistake: they are a higher-end shop, so everything is on the expensive side. However, I'm one who would rather not skimp on things that protect my head and body. Sometimes you tell someone what you bought and they cringe a bit knowing you probably paid too much. For the stuff here, everyone seems to nod their head and agree that the price is well worth it. The pickins might be a bit slim if you're not in the market for a sport bike, especially italian (which I am not - going Triumph :) ). But helmets and jackets are still top notch and the help is amazing. read more

I went to pro italia a few weeks ago,(sept 2012) in search of a Vanson jacket. I was immediately greeted by one of the sales staff, and ultimately got assistance from Karen. She was very informative about the product line, and was extremely helpful in finding the right jacket for my needs. She also took the time to show me the proper way to remove and install the body armour, and installed the zip in liner so I could see how the jacket fit with it in, knowing that I wouldn't be making the liner purchase that day. I walked out with the jacket and the back armour(jacket came with elbow and shoulder) that day, and will definitely go back to pick up the liner.
