The owner Chad answered the call and was very patient listening to my explanation of the problem. He clearly knew what was needed and we scheduled a day and time. The day before our scheduled appointment I asked Chad if he would be able to replace my garbage disposal, no problem. I took a picture of the existing disposal and sent it to Chad. Chad arrived on time and I appreciated his assessment and on what would be done. He installed the pressure regulator with copper piping and recommended if I would like to have a water outlet installed. Great location Great idea! Chad also replaced an old hose bibb valve that was stuck to the hose. The garbage disposal installation went well and his assistant showed me where the reset on button is located as well as what to do if the blades are jammed. We had already bought a door from the original door measurements. Knowing that we would not be able to do it ourselves, I contacted Kama'aina Handyman. They did an excellent job and built a new frame for the doorway. They also replaced some cinder blocks that had broken with wood framing to make sure the door was straight and plumb. Extremely disappointed in A-1 Budget Plumbing. We recently needed to have a water shut off valve…read morereplaced outside of our home and scheduled A-1 Budget Plumbing to do the work for us. The work required a plumber to dig a small hole, turn off the water, replace the valve and turn back on the water and re-fill the hole. A-1 Budget Plumbing was advised and understood this. A-1 Budget Plumbing arrived on a Friday, proceeded to dig a much larger hole than needed, throwing the dirt/grass on the sidewalk (making a mess) and when the valve was exposed the plumber said to us that he needed to leave because the company had him scheduled for other jobs and would not be able to come back until Monday. Leaving a large hole right next to the sidewalk over the weekend (which is a liability issue) AND being unable to finish the job he was scheduled to complete! (I took off of work for this?) What made matters worse is that the plumber charged over $300 for digging the hole (and doing zero plumbing work) and LEFT. That's right, straight up evaporated; with promises of coming back on Monday. We called the company, who's office manager aligned that the decision for the Plumber was in accordance with their processes and he was booked for the day. So despite being advised of the work prior, having a scheduled appointment and making sure that I was home to assist if needed, none of that mattered because he was busy and therefore procedure is to abandon the job for the day and come back later while charging us $300 in the meantime for just digging a hole and with additional charges when he "comes back on Monday" for the actual plumbing work. I do not know about you, but I do not think its appropriate/good business practice/customer service or even common sense to leave a pre-scheduled job half-complete. Its not like this was a major commercial job or anything out of the ordinary, it was a simple residential service call. I ended up calling another plumbing company who solved the issue in about 45 mins and was much cheaper. Never using, advising or speaking highly about this company. AVOID. Call someone else.

They essentially did an over haul of our plumbing (just didn't do the parts that would require a tear up of my house which I appreciate). So far everything works great and they were great about explaining everything that was happening. Stuart also fixed a leaking shower only to find out the people that originally installed it were missing pieces and they set our new toilet. He also did a few other random add ons by us which we're thankful for. Best of all we have a toddler that absolutely adored them and they were great with him. Our son can be annoying and in your face and they never seemed to get upset or annoyed and just rolled with it which I truly appreciated. Truthfully our son was sad when the work was done and they no longer came around. We highly recommend you check them out!
