The coolant leak is from an auxiliary radiator. I drive a CTS-V, so its not your basic cooling system. They were honest with me and said they have never changed that system on a V and wouldn't feel comfortable doing so. They could have easily just winged it just to get my money. But, they were honest about it and didn't even charge me for diagnosing the issue since they couldn't work on it. Definitely taking my other cars here when they need something.

They are honest and, in my opinion, absolutely number one. They have always been more than fair in pricing, but even more than that, they have always been straightforward with my vehicles have never pressured me to do anything that I didn't feel was necessary. They've always been good to give me a plan for what might need attention down the road, but never tried to sell me on service I didn't need. Never once have I ever felt like I've been taken advantage of. That goes the same for my wife. I have a classic 1997 Ford F150 and about four years ago I got some brake-work done by another mechanic in town. When I got the vehicle back, the brakes were worse than before! After going back multiple times to make it right, I finally washed my hands and walked away. I went to TWO other recommended mechanics after that to tried to get the situation correctly diagnosed and resolved. Both places said nothing was wrong even after a test drive with me in the vehicle each time. I started to think that it was just the fact that my truck was older. But after going to honest-1 for other things like oil changes and some engine work, I told them about my brakes situation. They took a look and found the problem in no time. And in just a few hours, they had me back on the road and now my brakes work beautifully!! Smooth and controlled! Just like they're supposed to be. Anthony and the team at Honest-1 are phenomenal. The receptionist was very helpful in explaining the different services and why they were important. The prices were reasonable - this was stated several times in customer reviews . I had one critical service performed and will have the second critical service done before Xmas . I will keep tabs on the wait and watch items. I am very satisfied customer!!

This used to be a great place to get work done on your car when John and Chris were always there…read more It has gone downhill in the last two years. Since then, I always have a burning oil smell after they change my oil. Also, when my starter was going out, they thought it was because my battery was too weak so they changed my battery to a more expensive gel battery and didn't give me credit for my perfectly fine battery that they removed until I later complained. (They then only gave me a $20 credit). Later, the gel battery they installed gave out after only 1 year and 3 months of service. I was stranded out of town when it happened and Corb's would not give me any kind of credit for bringing the battery back. I will no longer recommend anyone to go here after these continued bad experiences.

The entire time State Farm was stringing out their approvals and payments, they kept focused on MY timing needs. Their customer is TRULY their first concern. Now that is not a constant these days but it sure feels good! We would like to share our personal review of a local auto repair shop located in Hockley…read more Please consider avoiding INNOVATIVE CAR CARE located on 2920 in Hockley. This will be a long post, but I'll try to sum it up. Long story short they dont honor warranties on their work and lie about things needing be replaced. We initially brought my daughter's truck in for a new transmission. Shortly after the transmission was replaced, it began to leak fluid extensively. It appeared to require another rebuild. Not long after that, the transmission failed again and needed to be replaced once more. We then took it to a different shop because Innovative declined to honor the warranty. When we retrieved the truck after after one of the stays at Innovative, we observed that all the fuel was gone, despite the tank being full when we dropped it off. We initially wondered if we were mistaken and simply made a mental note. During the period of the transmission issues, we also experienced problems with the air conditioning and requested that they examine it. We invested several thousand dollars to have virtually the entire system replaced. Upon picking up the truck this time, for some reason, the engine brake had ceased functioning after the work they performed. Two years later, the air conditioning failed again. We returned it, assuming the parts would still be under warranty. However, they informed us there was no warranty and that the condenser and Schrader valve needed replacement. We paid nearly a thousand dollars for this service, and they declared it ready. We collected the truck, and the air conditioning worked for two days before failing again. We brought it back, and they promised to provide an update the same day. Two days passed without any communication. Finally, we received a call stating that the compressor and evaporator core needed to be replaced, and these parts were also not under warranty, with an additional cost of $1200. Naturally, I questioned these claims. We contacted three other shops for a second opinion, and they all advised us to return to the original shop, as all those parts should have a lifetime warranty. We then called O'Reilly, as the representative at Innovative stated they had an account there and did not receive a lifetime warranty on parts. When O'Reilly was contacted, they confirmed that their parts do indeed carry a lifetime warranty. When they were confronted with this and point blank asked where they were buying their parts they stated "several places, which ever place is the cheapest". Furthermore, on each occasion my daughter needed to retrieve something from the truck at the shop, it was found unlocked and parked near the road (2920). When we brought this to their attention, their response was that "no one ever comes up here." During this period, we had them replace the water pump, which unfortunately failed again shortly after its replacement. We returned it for another replacement, only to experience a similar issue. The third time, my husband replaced the pump himself, and we have not encountered any problems since then. I have reviewed their reviews, and it appears this may be a recurring concern. It seems improbable that every single component replaced two years ago would require replacement again. This establishment appears to be engaging in deceptive practices.

I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any major repair at Grant…read moreFirestone. My experience started when I paid Grant Firestone to replace the rear/crankshaft main oil seal on my 2017 Jeep Wrangler. I was charged more than $1,200 for the seal replacement and associated labor. The repair involves significant labor, including removal and reinstallation of the transmission. Later, I brought the Jeep back because I was having an overheating problem. Grant Firestone was unable to determine the cause. The owner then looked at the vehicle briefly and told me I had a cracked head gasket. I was quickly given a quote of more than $4,000 for the repair. At that point I became suspicious and decided not to authorize the work. I took the Jeep to another reputable mechanic for a second opinion. The head gasket was not cracked. The actual overheating problem was the radiator, which needed to be replaced. While performing that work, my new mechanic also discovered an oil leak. Further inspection determined that the leak was coming from the rear main seal - the same seal I had previously paid Grant Firestone more than $1,200 to replace. This is where my experience became especially concerning. After the transmission was removed and the area could be inspected, my mechanic determined that the rear main seal appeared to still be the factory-installed seal. He also found what he identified as the factory silicone/sealant still present. In other words, according to the independent mechanic's inspection, the seal I had paid Grant Firestone to replace did not appear to have been replaced. I have photographs documenting what was found when the transmission was removed, which I am including with this review. I contacted Grant Firestone about the continuing seal problem and was offered warranty work. But after another mechanic subsequently found what appeared to be the original factory seal and sealant still on the vehicle, I was not comfortable allowing Grant Firestone to work on my Jeep again. I requested a refund instead. I understand that automotive diagnoses can sometimes be wrong and that replacement parts can fail. If this had simply been a replacement seal that failed, I would view this situation very differently. My concern is that an independent mechanic found evidence indicating that the seal I paid to have replaced had never actually been replaced. Between the incorrect $4,000+ head-gasket diagnosis and what was discovered with the rear main seal, I lost confidence in this shop. I'm sharing the photos so people can see the condition that was documented and make their own judgment. Based on my experience, I will not return to Grant Firestone and would strongly encourage anyone facing an expensive diagnosis or repair here to get an independent second opinion before authorizing the work.
