Unfortunately, a crack in our courtyard caused water to leak and mold to grow from our basement into our guest room and ProCore Restoration came to the rescue. I've had what seemed to be orange mold in our downstairs bathroom. The first company we consulted offered to fix the problem and submitted a proposal which would have cost a great deal of money. I called ProCore, a company we had used before and had been quite happy with.. They came the same day that I called and told me that neither mold nor dirty water had caused t the discoloration had we noticed. It seems to have resulted from the use of an orange colored cleaning product and then cleaned up the affected area. They even declined payment. We had a number of highly reviewed water restoration companies on Yelp! assess the damage caused by a leak in our kitchen. ProCore Restoration was recommended by our mold abatement company. During the inspection, Gerardo was very friendly, professional, and he answered all of our questions. He was very thorough and he was able to find additional water damage that the other companies didn't. I noticed that Gerardo's equipment was more advanced than the other inspectors. We also didn't feel any pressure from him to go with his company. During the remediation, Gerardo (and Steven!) were always on time and they followed the COVID-19 guidelines (i.e. masks and gloves). When required, they worked long hours and stayed on schedule. When they were complete, they were extremely clean, leaving nothing behind. While Gerardo was a nice guy and easy to talk with, the remediation and construction weren't done correctly. 65k and 5.5 months later, we're still moldy and sick. Some concerns weren't addressed at the correct time before construction (attic/moldy insulation, popcorn ceiling, moldy flooring) and so the contractor after him did it, which recontaminated everything. He also has an issue dealing with women (not taking seriously, opting to talk with the man, etc.) if that's a concern for you. He also didn't seem as knowledgeable in how sick mold can actually make people as I'd hoped, but more than others. They don't use protective gear themselves. I'm not sure what's all his fault and what is the construction company, but we liked him and had such high hopes that didn't work out. The contractor will be getting a worse review. Edited: I may have made a mistake on a thing that was done in what time frame and was willing to edit and apologize, but after this review, this guy is calling and texting my husband and father to get through to me. Seriously? He really hates dealing with women. Not my fault. Edited again: He has listened, apologized, and expressed his disagreement with my original review. I had to originally hire a mold inspection co. (Black Mold Analysis) because my 3 year old was doing really bad. Gerardo was very professional and easy to work with from start to finish. We had black mold starting to form in our bathroom due to faulty ventilation. After we had our exhaust fan replaced by an electrician, we asked the help of Gerardo to remove and remediate the mold that had already formed on the ceiling and on the walls. He came in at a the soonest time that was convenient for us to look at the problem and write an estimate. During work day, he was very punctual and made sure to cover the walkway leading from the front door to our bathroom so our carpet wouldn't get dirty. He made sure to remove all the mold, then fogged the bathroom as well as the adjacent room to prevent future mold outbreaks. Another problem that we had was that the electrician who installed our new exhaust fan had cut a whole in the ceiling that was much bigger than the fan itself, leaving a huge gap in the ceiling. Although it was beyond his practice, Gerardo took the initiative to take care of this problem too. He hooked us up with a professional drywall person who patched up the ceiling and painted the whole bathroom after mold remediation. The whole process took a total of two days---one day for the mold removal and remediation, and another day for the drywall and paint. After all the work was done, we were very happy to see that our bathroom now looked 10x better than it ever did before. Gerardo's prices are affordable and he cleans up after himself.
