Less than 2 years later we are paying over $50,000 to remove the poor work done by EMS and repair our kitchen for leaks in an area that never leaked with the old roof. Had EMS do both the remediation and repair for water damage. Some of the work they did was fantastic (replaced individual glued down Hardwood planks, initial response and initial communications). Some work was good (the remediation itself and the initial dealing with insurance. Lastly, some of the work was only ok (oiling the hardwood to match, time of total project, followup help with insurance, mismeasuring of the cabinets initially and some worker availability issues.) Overall, I'd give them 3.5 stars, but I rounded up. read more

Joseph was reliable, reasonable priced, responsive, expert in mold removal and great to work with. He did a great job taking care of the mold in our bathroom in such a short notice. The plumbing and painting was subcontracted so it took a little longer to get the entire project done. This was one of the worse experiences of my life. I hired EMS for water restoration, new drywall, stucco fix outside my home, flooring, paint, etc and immediately regretted my decision. Although Joseph seemed knowledgeable at first, once his men came it became excuse after excuse. There is way too much to write but to sum it up they would come for 2 hours or less and leave to other jobs, not come for a week, show up randomly, and the jobs they did were awful. We tried to communicate this with Joseph everyday and he rarely answered his phone or he'd have his assistant call us who also was of no help. The guys came to do dry wall work in our bedroom one day and left. Left EVERYTHING, buckets of water, material from the walls, bags of trash and spackle. Outside was even worse. The stucco from the side of our house was left everywhere. I had to pay over 4K to have someone come and fix their mess. After almost 4 months Joseph finally reaches out to me for payment. I explained that the guys only did half the work and was honest with him about what they did and did not complete. Because I wanted this out of my life I agreed to pay for the work they did (although it was awful) and be on my way. I honestly felt as thought I shouldn't have paid anything since I had to spend my own money paying others to come and fix their mess. Now the side of my house looks worse then before because their stucco job was so bad. Please do not hire this company, you will regret it. FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HONEST. I had EMS come out to look at my house. The only mold found was under my sink. Joseph was extremely knowledgeable and explained to me that the person who installed by kitchen cabinets and sink took a shortcut that would make it more difficult to remove the mold because the wood was sandwiched in. He gave me a quote and it took me a while to get back to him. When I did, he came back for a re-evaluation and said that the mold had not spread. He explained that since I cut off the water source by repairing the leak, there is no immediate need to fix it. He very easily could have sold me this job knowing I didn't need it, but he was honest. His prices are also reasonable. I hope I don't need him in the future, but if I have mold issues again, he's the one I'll call. read more

The contract was for a canvas, waterproof patio cover. The installer was never on time and as much as an hour and a half late. The first cover was too small. The second cover too loose and flapped in a small breeze. The installer came back and tightened the cover pulling it over the ends of the patio wood which looks unsightly. The business then threatened me to pay as they considered the job completed not knowing if the cover would flap again. My suggestion is to try another company. read more

Friendly. Educating. Honest. We contacted EMS after discovering a persistent mildew smell coming from our master bedroom's closet and our dehumidifier was pulling moisture from the air. They were able to send Daniel out for a Free Mitigation Investigation and he was able to educate us on the matter. Daniel was honest with us and respectful of our home. I was really impressed with Joseph and EMS! I have never worked with a contractor who does EXACTLY what they said they would. I wanted multiple bids for our kitchen rebuild after water damage so I was able to compare Joseph to some others and here is what I found: Other contractors: "I will go check out the project on Friday for sure." End of day Friday and no word. I reach out Monday and hear "I can get there tomorrow." End of day Tuesday and no word. Wednesday our tenant tells us someone came by but she didn't catch their name. Sigh. Joseph: "I will go over on Friday at 1PM." GOES OVER ON FRIDAY AND SETS UP A GOOGLE MEET SO I CAN TALK TO HIM LIVE FROM THE HOUSE AT 1pm!! Never late, always there are planned, totally reliable. Other contractors: "I will you get a bid tomorrow." Nope, 3 more days. Bid arrives vague and not including everything we need done so I still don't know what the project will cost. Joseph: Bid tomorrow? Yep! And FULLY ITEMIZED. Really detailed so I could know what to expect and could realistically choose how to move forward. He was the most communicative and responsible person we talked to, and clearly VERY knowledgeable!
