I took my dog back in May to Professional Groom Room after being unhappy with Heart to Heart Grooming in Sylmar. My dog was always shaking and scared when I picked him up. My mom referred me after she took her Yorkshire Terrier. I liked what the I saw when my mom's dog came back from the Professional Groom Room. I took my dog and I showed them a picture how I wanted his haircut and they did exactly just that. Also when I picked my dog up he was not scared and was not shaking for the first time. The lady handled him with care and seemed to actually care for the animals. This lady groomer was really nice and welcoming. Also I took two dogs on my recent trip and one of staff helped me take one of the dogs to the car which I thought was nice . What I really liked too was the you can see the groomers groom the animals as opposed to usually having the grooming behind closed doors. I just recently took him this past week and again was happy with the results. ( I was concerned though on the day I took him because the air conditioning was not working and the temperatures for the animals but they had fans on and I would suggest if this is a concern for you as well just ask if the ac is working). They do really good grooming. I would recommend this place to people are trying to find a good and reasonable prices for their animals. read more

WARNING.....DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! I took my dog here because it was close to my house and because I wasn't able to find any other dog groomer in Arleta. The first time I took my dog here she was a puppy. She was scooting her butt on the ground so I figured she had to get her anal glands suppressed, so I took her in. They were pretty busy that day so she was there most of the day. When they finally called me it was before closing time. They were just finishing up on her nails when all of a sudden on of the employees dropped her. I didn't know what to think other than how careless this kid was. I swore I would never go back. Until recently.... and that was my mistake. I dropped her off around 9am. I asked how long it would take and they told me about and hour and a half. Sure enough, an hour and a half later my dog was ready. She was so excited to see me that I didn't notice that they didn't cut her nails or clean her ears properly until I got home. I noticed that my dog was still scooting her butt on the ground. When I lifted her tail it was red and irritated. I took her too the vet and they said the anal glands were still full. Did these people just charge me $25 to give my dog a bath? Yup that's exactly what they did. Not only that but I had to buy the ointment from the vet in order for my dogs irritation on her butt to go away. So in my opinion the professional groom room is not so professional after all. If you consider your pet a member of your family and want to look out for their well being then do not...I repeat... DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. read more

Horrible! Don't take your dog here. Took my dog in the morning they called at 2pm, telling us that our dog is ready. Got there at 4pm, apparently they closed early WITHOUT LETTING CUSTOMERS KNOW. Held my dog overnight without feeding her and charged us $20 for the "stay" in fee. They close early without warning, hold your dogs and charge you $20 extra on top of the grooming fee for hostaging and caging your dog. Like it's your fault they closed early when their hours clearly said 5pm. Sketchy! Never coming back! read more

While waiting for my dog to get bathed and nails trimmed I heard it scream a blood curdling scream, the groomer said she was afraid of the dryer, I demanded my wet dog back and left. It took 3hrs to calm my dog back down.. I don't know what happened but all I know is my dog will never get groomed there again. Definetly don't reccomend. read more

I took my Shihtzu Olivia for a nail cut here at 9 and it was done super quickly. It was just a nail cut and she came out happy and smelling like blueberries! It was 10 bucks and let me say this, she is a little sassy girl who doesn't sit still and her nails were tremendously long. I used to have her groomed at Canine Coiffures but they never got my cut right, she always came back with cuts, and they obviously never cut her nails (when they told me they would). Olivia's nails were scary long. They were waaaaay too long and I just got her groomed about 2 months ago! I never checked her nails, but it's apparent they lied to me. I've started grooming her myself and I felt bad because I take it day by day cutting her hair and I haven't gotten to her belly or legs yet so the guy worker spoke to me about his concern and I should take those matts off. He was very nice giving me info... Maybe he thought I was some crazy girl who doesn't groom her dog!! Haha but overall I got what I came in for and I think they did great. Might come here next month, when her hair grows longer and has no knots. to get her groomed ;) read more

Go somewhere else please. I specifically told them even before making the appt. that I wanted my dog shaved off and I got yes sir not a problem. I repeated myself when dropping him off and when I picked him up the dog is not shave off but still has hair and short. I have 2 pinchers and the other one is shaved off did it at home with a machine I bought at Walmart for dogs. I paid what they asked and they don't do what I've asked. First off to Johana E. I'm sorry you had that happen to you, while not common it does happen to Groomers across the Nation from time to time. 2 years ago it happend to my cousin who lives in Texas. She told me that the place was busy and the dogs looked alike the only difference was that my cousin's dog was a male and the other dog was female. Professional Groom Room has the best prices that I've seen since I've been a dog owner (7 years). I took my Palm in to get a bath for the first time since i moved to Areta from Sylmar and they only charged my $25 for a bath, anal glands, nails, and light trim. When they told me that and I saw how white he looked and how happy he was, I didn't mind leaving the other $10 I had as a tip *the place I used to take my Palm to in Sylmar charged me $35 for a bath, anal glands and nail, NO LIGHT TRIM* The service was wonderful and I will defenitly be back. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! I had taken my dogs there before but this last time I did they "accidently" gave my dogs to another person. I went to go pick them up and they were giving me the wrong dogs!!! I was shocked that they were SO irresponsible and unable to keep track of who they release the dogs to! I had to wait almost 3 hrs before they can contact the person that took my dogs! I am extremly unhappy with that and I will never go back to this place!!! Oh and while all this was going on... I over heard the guy incharge say "only charge her $60"!!! I thought to myself " are you kidding me? Omg I can not believe this place is called "professional" it shouldn't even have it in Their name! I come home and what do I see my cocker spaniel all shaved and hurt on two of her legs and shaved to much on some spots to the point she has bald spots I'm so disappointed! First time trying the place to I usually go to another place but my brother and dad wanted to try at this place (Professional Groomer Room) just because it was closer and now I regret letting them take her there..they took so long also supposably they would be done at 5pm my mother and I go check nope they haven't even started still in a cage also to add on thirsty tongue sticking out look so sad my mom had to point it out for the person to actually do something and put a water bowl inside! Busy or not if your gonna have a pet groomer and people are trusting you with their pride and joy of their pets that means you are responsible for them! If your so busy you should be getting money so idk why you can't buy more an a bit bigger water bowls also hire more people if you need it since your to busy to focus on our dogs! I was think since its a pet groomers they must be animal lovers and my dog would be treated good and look amazing but when I saw her when I opened my the door to go in my house it did not look at all like the people that cut her hair even loved animals..I'm just done I'm never going back there neither any of my dogs bad worst first experience ever and it sucks that happen..I'm going back to my original place. read more

So I took my dog to get groomed here and I'm very unhappy.. This place is over priced for the quality of work they do.. When I dropped off my dog they gave me one price to charge me way more at pick up.. They literally shaved my dog!!! I could have done this!!! Literally have and left her looking better than this!!! As soon as they saw her they said she was too matted to fix!! I've taken her a bit worse to sylmar grooming and they charged me the same and took the mats out!! If it wasn't for me being in such a rush this morning I would have put up a stink about that.. NEVER TAKING HER HERE AGAIN!!! Lucky dog pet grooming is a lot better!! New place around the corner!!! Not to mention they had my poor dog all day!!! Last dog for pick up since 11am!!! It's almost six!!! She ran in the house and went straight to the water bowl as if she hadn't drank all day!!!! Please don't take ur dog here!!! Oh and I left today I saw a dog being hit Infront of this place!! Not completely sure it ran out of the store but almost sure!! I highly doubt these obviously stoned out of their mind pot heads would have all ran out and carried in a random dog after being hit.. Which they did, I did see them all run out and one of them carried the dog in.. Should have just taken her when I saw that.. I can't believe a place like this is still open!! My girlfriend and I made an appointment days in advance for our cat to get a bath. We arrived at 10am, our scheduled time, and they told us she would be ready in 2-3 hours. Since our cat does get nervous around strangers, they said they take their time and have regular breaks if she needs it. We understood and appreciated that. However, 2 hours all of a sudden became 6 hours. We called 2 hours after we dropped her off to check on the progress and they said she hasn't even been touched yet. It would be another 2 hours before she would be accommodated because "a lot of big dogs came in today." Which had me curious, did these "big dogs" have appointments like WE did or do you just prioritize a different kind of animal? So now we are looking at 4 hours of our cat in a cage before they even touch her. Then a possible 2 hour procedure actually grooming her. A 6 hour day for a cat just getting a simple bath? Give me a break. They wanted to charge us $70 for that service. We took our cat back the moment they made us aware of their plans. When we arrived, they didn't say a single word as they handed her over to us. No sorry, no nothing. The guy at the front desk was eating a corn dog in front of everyone. Safe to say we will never be back here again and recommend you stay away too. read more

The place is really small, with little to no room for them to really have many dogs in. Today I took my 2 dogs for a bath, nail trimming & haircut. I dropped my dogs off around 10:15am & was told they would be ready around 3:00pm. When I left them there, the person at the front desk had 4 other guys there with him. I called around 3:25pm thinking they would be done & i was told they had only showered them & will need another hour & a half!!!! The reason behind this was due to appointments they had, which they never told me about since 10AM I dropped them off! Fine, I said, I called around 4:45pm & I was told they STILL WERENT FINISHED!!!! I waited AGAIN & had gotten called back to ask what my dogs were even in there for & the style of the haircut I wanted for my dog! Finally my dogs were ready by 5:20pm just to find out they had flees & spiders on them BOTH!!!!! I was disgusted & will NEVER take my dogs back there!!!!!
