I have newer - u-turn audio - turn table that wasn't producing sound out of the left speaker. Not usually the kind of thing he works on, but Dr. Dan agreed to check it out anyway. I spent about an hour with him in his shop, surrounded by pugs, chopping it up sharing stories, while he troubleshooted the issue. After a few tests, he figured out what was happening, recommended I buy a $20 preamp to fix it, then sent me on my way with a handshake and a smile. It was quite the enjoyable experience. You can tell he cares about what he does, that he takes pride in his work, and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to vintage audio equipment. *He's also a man that enjoys a good story, so if you have one, come prepared to share.* I personally value vinyl. It's a beautiful analogue tech that produces sound using magnets and emf's translated from a needle cruising on plastic. It's crazy to me that someone had the idea for it, let alone that it actually works. Yet it remains. Not for the nostalgia or efficiency; but for the warmth of the sound, for the collectibility and sense of ownership, for the love of music. I was looking for someone who held a similar sentiment. You wouldn't want someone who hates cars to be your mechanic. I decided to call Dr. Dan after reading some reviews, in which pretty much everyone suggests he the best. To that point, all I can say is, they were all right.

I have a McIntosh C28 preamp and a McIntosh MC 2105 amp. Between working overseas and moving, neither had been powered up for some time and had been on a shelf in the garage. I wanted to set them up again, but before I powered them up, I wanted them cleaned and checked out. I contacted Dan and got an estimate, then dropped off the amps on Dec 31st for what was promised to be a two-week job. On January 14, he called me to tell me they weren't done. He texted me some photos of what he was doing and said it would be another week or two. After that, I heard nothing. I texted for updates but received no responses in return. On Feb 20, I texted again and said we would be in Denver the next day and asked if they were ready as I would be out of the state after that. He said he would only be there in the morning during the time I would be at a powerlifting meet. I asked for confirmation that they were ready and I could pick them up a couple of times after that. Finally, he responded when I said I was out of the country, but my wife would be in Denver on March 21st. I asked for the price and confirmation of the address. There was no response. I asked twice more before I got those, and he specified cash or check only. When my wife got there, he called me in Ireland and started berating me, telling me he was so popular, everybody loved him, and I was disrespecting him. I was quite surprised, and I asked him how. He said I texted him instead of calling. (For the record, I have hearing loss from thirty years in the Marines, and I prefer texting, especially when I need specific like costs or addresses. Also, at least twice, I called and left messages which were never returned.) He then actually yelled at me over the phone, saying my amps were too big and took up too much time in his shop. There was more, and I bit my tongue as I just wanted my amp. When my wife went to pay with a check, he demanded cash. She contacted me, and I sent him back the text where he said checks. My wife picked them up, but he did not put the amp back in the case. When I returned, I tried to do it myself, but so far, I've failed. I called him but got an answering machine. He did call me back, but to berate me again, saying he was angry on the 21st and he was still angry. Once again, I bit my tongue as I wanted my amp working. He told me he didn't put it back like I brought it because it had been difficult to take out in the first place. He told me to push the releases on the front and find the clasps on the back, and when I told him I couldn't see anything, he said find a YouTube video. Then there was more beratement, most along the lines that he doesn't have time to respond to texts, he is too popular and everyone loves him, he is anal about his work, I don't know anything about amps (true, which is why I hired him), how no other service provider uses text messages, he complained that he didn't know my wife (whom he met along with our seven-year-old identical twins when I dropped off the amps), and how it's all my fault because I wasn't calling him all the time. Then, when he repeated that he was angry at me, I said it was mutual. At that point, we had a minute or two of back and forth until I said this was getting us nowhere and hung up. As I noted above, it is possible that Dan is a wizard with the tech. But I received no invoice to know what was done, the amps were not cleaned, and as far as I know, only three components were exchanged on the preamp. But most of all, I have never in my life been treated like that by a vendor of any kind. I have never been scolded like a five-year-old child. I can not recommend "Doctor" Dan for any kind of service.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this location…read more I scheduled an appointment to have the back of my phone repaired due to a cracked back panel. During check-in, the associate mentioned a minor scratch on the front screen and suggested either a screen replacement if the part was available or a tempered glass screen protector. I declined any front screen repair and agreed only to the screen protector and the back panel replacement. I was told the repair would take approximately three hours and that I would receive a call when it was complete. After waiting five hours without any communication, I returned to the store and was asked to wait another hour and a half. When I came back, I was informed that my front screen had stopped working during the repair and would need a replacement if the whole phone. My appointment was only for the back panel repair, so I questioned why work had been performed on the front screen at all. The associate claimed the screen was cracked and needed repair, but I had taken photos of my phone before dropping it off that documented its condition. He then threatened to pull the security footage which I was more than happy to review and show the proof I had. Despite this, I was left with a phone in worse condition than when I brought it in. I was also assured that a claim would be filed and that a replacement phone would be shipped overnight. After receiving no updates, I contacted Asurion myself and learned that no claim had been submitted. I ultimately had to file the claim on my own after waiting more than 24 hours for communication. Navigating without a phone has been quite difficult especially with this process from hell. To make matters worse, I wI'll be without a phone for a total of five days. Throughout the entire process, communication was poor, commitments were not followed through on, and I never received an apology for the inconvenience. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location and would not trust it with future device repairs.

No one is there at 1:30p in the afternoon on a weekday; no sign, nothing. I waited for about 20 minutes and still no one showed up, so I returned home. As a remedy for this I asked for my Xbox to be delivered to my house to save me the return trip. They said there was no problem; just call the store and give them your credit card number to pay for the repair and they will ship it out. I call the store and they tell me they don't accept credit cards over the phone. Not a great experience which delayed my son getting his Xbox by almost three weeks.

Well, as most of my hopes and dreams of the 1990s, that plan needed a bit of a revision. After many years of use, including the enthusiastic tweeter poking of my young sons, the speakers needed to be repaired. I found Speaker Repair & Reconing Center of Colorado on Yelp - and based on the reviews, I had high expectations. Even so, Brandon surpassed the high bar that had already been set. He tested each speaker individually, (tweeters and mid ranges..), and when he identified speakers that needed to be replaced, he ensured he procured them from the same manufacturers of the original speakers. Beyond the speakers, he even conditioned the internal electronics, Before I left the shop with my newly refreshed and rebuilt speakers, Brandon let me listen to each one, and made sure all the frequencies were crisp and clear and powerful. The price was beyond reasonable for the work that he did - I could really tell he was doing it for the love of the craft more than financial gain. If you have any speakers that need some repair or diagnostic evaluation - I recommend you have a talk with Brandon. I am confident you will be as overjoyed with the result as I am. Thank you Brandon!

In fact, a warning light is now flashing. Like many, I wish I had read these reviews before I dealt with this company. In my opinion, the entire process of dealing with this company was terrible. To protect other people, I am writing this review, disputing the charges with my credit card company (they beg you to pay with cash - DON'T DO IT) under the quality of service provision and reporting this conduct to the authorities. If you were similarly treated, I recommend you do the same. One final anecdote that illustrates the larger experience. At the time of drop off, the owner/employee? begged for a Yelp review. I told him "maybe" once the transaction was completed. Then when I picked up the espresso machine he begged again for a Yelp review - even asked me to take my phone out of my pocket to do it "right now". If I could do it all over again, I would have simply bought a new machine. It would have been less expensive, no wasted time and no brain damage dealing with this company.

I hired Todd Engle of ELSCO Electrical & Lighting Services Company, LLC (based in Highlands Ranch)…read moreto replace the electrical panel in my home. A full month after he told me the job was complete--and after I had paid him in full--I discovered that the work had never even been inspected. When I raised concerns, he was unapologetic and dismissive. Instead of owning the issues and his mistake, Todd sent workers to my home unannounced to try to shift the blame. Then he spent six weeks claiming he was waiting on callbacks from other contractors to fix the code violations. When I finally contacted the city myself, I learned his proposed fix wouldn't pass inspection either. After I insinuated I was ready to take the matter to court, he finally sent someone to build a rough "temporary" wooden platform that was drilled into my concrete slab and the exterior brick veneer of the house. Even after the job passed re-inspection, Todd refused to provide the actual inspection reports, despite multiple requests. The city inspector told me clearly: contractors are required to provide those reports to homeowners, and the city cannot release them directly. Todd continues to send screenshots of the permit website, which do not contain the required notes or documentation of the corrections made. Both inspectors were concerned by his behavior--one even mentioned that he was "familiar with these guys" and their reputation. This was my first home purchase, and I can now see that I was far too trusting and patient with a contractor who showed little regard for communication, accountability, or professionalism. I've since filed formal complaints with the state licensing board and the Colorado Attorney General. If you're already working with this company: do not pay in full until you've verified the inspection passed, do not pay in cash, expect to clean up debris yourself, expect to label the circuits yourself, and unfortunately, do not expect basic documentation without a fight. Otherwise, avoid ELSCO at all costs.
