I called on a Saturday around noon to ask if I can do a walk in for a smog. They close at 2 pm on Saturdays and the gentleman who answered states they can take walk ins and there currently wasn't a long wait. So I headed over there about 30 minutes after the call. Parking space here is limited, so be prepared for that. When I got here, there were 2 customers ahead of me, one finishing up a smog check and another just had his car towed here for repairs. I was helped within 20 minutes after arriving and was here a total of about 40 minutes total for smog. Again, great and quick service. The waiting room isn't too bad. They have a huge tv you can watch as you wait, magazines and a few chairs you can rest at. There's also a huge window where you can see into the bay. There's also masullo pizza next door if you want to eat while you wait, but the technician might be done with your car before the food arrives. Pricing is average for getting car smogged, and they do take credit card. I'll continue to go here in the future.

They asked if I needed any other services and even though my oil change wasn't due for another 500 miles, since I was there, I said they could do ahead and do the oil change. When they were finished with the car, I went up to pay, which was the first time they mentioned they did not have the bulbs and could not change my headlights. Since that was the entire reason I brought the car in, it very much felt like they took advantage of the opportunity to make some money rather than be honest about what they could do for me. For a…read moresmall fee they can give you registration sticker on the spot; also, change address if you've moved. Doing this at DMV will take hours and even taking day off. Or, worse, after waiting whole day at DMV they can't do it because you forgot a document. Well worth the small fee to do at Smog Express.

I thought there would be a long wait since there were a few people ahead of me, but I was wrong. This place is a well-oiled machine. Somebody at the front desk will take your info and hand your keys off to a tech who pulls your car in for the smog. When they're done they pull your car around, you pay, and you're done. My car was in their shop and on the smog test machine less than five minutes after I walked in the door and I was out the door again in another fifteen. This is the spot.
