Stumbled in circa 2019, for transmission bearings in my 2003 Honda Shadow ACE (after paying another shop $900 and getting a quote of $2200 to fix that guys work! These guys quoted $1000 and came in under that). (I also have had work done on my 2008 Honda Goldwing). I've been in for transmission bearings, tires (twice), coolant leak, failing brakes, and initial once over after purchasing the '08 in '22. So, six times, give or take? Friendly? If you're in here to make new buddies, you're in the wrong shop. Dad is the owner and counter-man. Not necessarily friendly, and not at first blush. But get him talking about a ride and he'll warm up to ya. Son does the work, and he's a gem. Cash only and up front. Honest. Everything cost what they said, except the transmission bearings, which came out $600 cheaper and two weeks quicker than anticipated: because the damage was not as bad as expected. BTW: He's not a tire shop, order your tires and bring 'em with the bike for the best price.

He did have one in the shop, but he said it was no priority to get that one fixed.. One of the…read morechallenges of owning an older bike is finding a convenient and reliable place to service it so that it continues to spin like a top. Most dealerships won't work on motorcycles over ten years old so that leaves independent shops. A friend recommended Rockdale Cycles when I asked him where he brought his similar vintage Kawasaki. I brought both my bike and my wife's, an early 90's Suzuki, there recently for general services (valve adjustments, carbs synch, coolant flush and the like) and I was very happy with their work. This is a shop, not a showroom. They do have a handful of bikes for sale as well as various parts and accessories but it's clear that their focus is service and repairs. Turnaround time can be a few weeks depending on what needs to be done, their backlog of customers' bikes and parts availability.

Top Gear Motorsports…read more Trust me. Don't go here. Unless you can help it. As can be the case with motorcycle shops, these people tend to rip you off. I bought my motorcycle from them, but ever since it has been a hassle with any dealings associated with them. From 800 dollars to repaint a "portion" of my bike after I got in a motorcycle accident, to the fact that my insurance company WOULD NOT work with them because they labeled my bike "totaled." Which I found out later is something motorcycle shops do, to earn a hefty profit from your insurers. (My bike had some VERY minor damage, with two plastic pieces on the side, and a few dents and scrapes, all of which I paid for and fixed out of pocket) When I first went in to Top Gear I was excited. It was my first bike and the new Kawasaki Ninjas were awesome. Upon buying a Ninja 250 08', I received great customer service, that is, until after I bought my bike. Nowadays these people are so busy, you're lucky to see your motorcycle WEEKS after you take it in to get serviced. I know.. because that happened to me. Also...don't expect a phone call. I spent countless hours trying to call, and only got through a couple of times. You have to really stay on these people to get your bike serviced. When they do finally get to the job, it's not that bad, but they don't actually seem to care about making sure your bike is awesome or care about getting it back to you in a timely manner. The customer service is basically non-existent. They have high prices, and they screw up. A LOT. When I first got my bike from here, they left the packing bolts ON my bike, which are not as stable, and rusted in my bike. I had to call them, for them to realize their mistake. I have this horror story and many more. Trust me, you're better off going somewhere in ATL, despite the extra cost to get out there. Customer Service- 1-2 Price- Middle to High Location- Poor (Bogart, GA) Overall Rating. 1 to 2.
