I was finally able to try Prontos. It's not so easy for me to go since they are closed on weekends. I really enjoyed it and look forward to going back. We ordered sandwiches from the walk up menu. There are many choices available. The prepared dinner selections looked really good and I look forward to trying those in the future. The sandwich cost was on the higher side. Close to $20 with a tip. The portion was pretty large and the quality was very good so that helped. I also chose ciabatta bread and didn't realize that was an extra $3 until after I saw my receipt. Some upgrades were more clearly marked but I didn't see that one. They have a very nice patio area to sit while you are eating. I used to frequent this place quite a bit in the past before the new owners took over. Speaking only from my experience, this place has changed a lot, prices have gone up but that's not a shock, everywhere you go nowadays and doesn't have to be even a decent deli, sandwiches are ridiculously expensive, $16 for a sandwich? Really? Or even more depending where you go. Frankly I don't know how anyone can afford it any longer but that's a different story. The new owners still don't even seem to know what they are doing after I would say 3yrs now, maybe even more since taking over this place. I used to love going here, now I go maybe once every 3 months if even that and I know why. The service is not the same, the owners are clueless and the food doesn't taste the same at all. The atmosphere of feeling like you are at home when most everyone but mostly the owner remembered you, would come talk to you, helped you and knew what she was taking about, is all gone. I was there yesterday for one of my favorite sandwiches, meatball sandwich. I like that the meatballs are small, not a size of a baseball or even larger, just perfect size, tasty etc. I go up to the register and instead of his clueless wife when you ask her a question and she looks at you as if you're from another planet then has to go and ask one of her employees which that in itself looks totally bad, this time was her husband who looks to me for now the 4th time through the year I visited, that should just stick to staying in the gym since he looks like someone that takes care of himself that way, quite fit, and although nothing at all with that, perhaps leave the deli part of it to someone else and go back to working out instead, it seems his forte. When I told him the sandwich I wanted, he clearly said to me "what would you like with the sandwich" a question I was never asked before because it simply came with a small bag of chips or pasta salad, so I asked what did the sandwich come with, "it comes" the word that he used "it comes with", not "extra charge" and he mentioned French fries, bag of chips while he pointed where the chips were, pasta salad. I said, "I'll try the French fries". Not ONE TIME he said to me that none of the items he mentioned to me were extra charge, I even told him, "oh they come with all that you just told me"? He said yes. When I paid the total came to $24 dollars, the sandwich itself was $13.65 and a coke that I ordered was $3, how did it get to $24? Well, the French fries were extra cost. Had I chosen a bag of chips, the once he pointed at were also extra charge just like if I ordered pasta salad, I found out about the extra charge from the lady that brought me the sandwich and I asked why my bill was $24 dollars, SHE, not the owner told me about the extra charges. After I said to her, "why didn't or doesn't the owner tell you so instead of saying that these extras come with the sandwich" she looked at me and said "I don't know". She didn't even know however any of the prices of the sandwich they sell. These are the new employees now. I know you are going to think why I didn't ask right away why my bill was $24 dollars. I didn't even think about it immediately, I was hungry at this point, the place was quite busy and I wanted to find a place to sit, no excuse, but didn't think about it right away. Not until I set down and then started thinking about why my bill was higher. That was my fault. I should have immediately asked and actually I should have gone to the owner afterwards and mentioned to him that he should tell the customers correctly, meaning do NOT SAY "IT COMES WITH" that means IS NOT EXTRA CHARGE. He needs to say that wherever we want with it, there is an extra, then up to the customer if he/she wants it or not. The sandwich did not taste like the way it used to taste, meatballs still small but they were very salty, and the fries although I will say cooked pretty nice, crispy and all, a very small portion and also very salty. Overall and sadly for me because I truly liked this place a lot with the previous owner, it's not a place I would go back to. The prices are as high and now higher than any other place nowadays, nothing spectacular, their bakery department is now very limited, used to be huge and very nice selections, they used to have a pastry chef in the back that made the best deserts, and I don't know if they also changed cook, but nothing tastes the same. The place is always very busy, so I am sure I won't be missed, I won't waste my money here again. The new owners should by now know what they sell, know how to interact with customers better, know the job they took over. The owners before were absolutely wonderful and great to talk to, they would interact with you ask you if everything was ok, great service from the staff. This is my go to place to get a great sandwich! Always fresh always interesting choices and for me the chicken salad doesn't get any better and for my wife neither does the egg salad. My deal is to have a sandwich at the restaurant and then bring home a carton of chicken salad and egg salad and a dinner entrée, we went pot roast with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Sometimes you just almost immediately know when a business is going to hit a home run. It could be a market, it could be a restaurant, it could be whatever. That's how I felt when I walked into this smallish market. I literally wanted to eat everything I saw. We only had sandwiches but I would love to return to eat my way through their prepared foods. The desserts looked insanely good, too. The Club sandwich is a monster and it is fantastic. You get turkey, ham, bacon, cheese, and veggies. It's also a "double decker" so you get another slice of bread in there to make sure you hit 1,000 calories in one sandwich. You will also need your snake jaws for this one. It's huge and absolutely delicious. The California Turkey was also excellent. Last, while I normally love wraps of all kinds, the Turkey Artichoke Wrap was disappointing. It was about 80% spinach and the artichoke was a spread of some sort. I would skip this one, especially when there are so many better options here. Went on a Friday afternoon. My husband and I split the pastrami sandwich and both got potatoes salad. My toddler got a grilled cheese. The servers were so nice and helpful. The sandwich was so good, it had plenty of meat, crunchy pickles and fresh veggies! The red head blondish girl with hair tied back taking our orders was not friendly at all, never smiled, didn't explain or feel like speaking and seemed too grumpy for this cute small store. They sell a wide selection of wine (room temp and refrigerated), frozen pasta, deli meats and cheese, sandwiches, jam, cold prepared foods and other specialty seasonal items. Tables available outside and some inside. Restroom available. Self serve fountain drinks and water station. Your sandwich comes with a side. Menu board said $2 extra for fries but my receipt showed $2.95, they need to update their menu if they want to increase prices. Hot Turkey club was extremely greasy and too oily but the sandwich itself was dry. Roast beef sandwich was dry with no flavor, nothing special, worse than cafeteria food. Super Italian sub was pretty ok- the better one of the other sandwiches I ordered. Roast beef and Italian were both on a soft roll type of bread which is plain and not good at all. It was our first time so if we had the option to choose a different bread then we had no idea and was not offered the option. A great sandwiches place usually stands out due to their bread. The famous Godmother sandwich that everyone craves and lines up for at my usual sandwich shop is because of their bread. Overall had high hopes for this spot but was disappointed. I went to Pronto's to purchase some Italian deli meats. At the time, there were two employees working--one older and one younger. The older employee was in the office handling phone calls and computer work, while the younger employee was making coffee. Once the coffee orders were completed, the younger employee assisted me with my order. I requested a total of 3 lbs of sandwich meats. While she did not smile and was very curt when I asked a question, which made the service feel less welcoming. she did not appear very confident with slicing and the process moved quite slowly. After approximately 20 minutes, the older employee came out of the office and completed slicing the remaining meats in under 10 minutes. I arrived at 11:00 a.m. and finished my order around 11:30 a.m. Suggestions for Improvement * Providing additional training for newer employees on deli slicing may help improve efficiency and confidence. * Having experienced staff available on the floor during customer service hours could help reduce wait times. * Improved staff coordination during busy periods may enhance the overall customer experience. read more

Prontos definitely takes great pride and care into their menu options. My favorite is the creamy mushroom pesto ravioli. I'm often skeptical about pesto as it can be too bold at times but Prontos perfected the balance of flavors in this dish. The sharpness of the pesto is mellowed out but not over taken by the creaminess and umami of the mushroom sauce. The Raviolis are fresh as well as the Ricotta it's stuffed with. the prices are more than reasonable enough for the freshness and quality of their dishes. Stopped here on our way from a massage next door while on a girls trip to Carlsbad. Got the best egg salad sandwich on squaw bread and took home a Beef Bourguignon with mashed potatoes to my husband at the end of the trip and he said it was amazing. Went back the next day to find them closed on the weekends which I found surprising, however, Friday was super busy and I guess they need a few days off. Staff was really good and very friendly. I actually love their food but unfortunately I had a bad experience. I've never written a bad review before so it says a lot. I'm currently 8months pregnant with a 2 year old. I had walked across the street to get my son a donut after his dentist appointment. My plan was to buy some premade food from prontos after. We came to prontos and sat down for a second so my son could finish his donut. I didn't wanna leave him alone to eat while i shopped so i sat down too for a second. A man who worked there approached us asking if we were waiting for food. I said oh no we're not waiting but I'm gonna shop around after and buy some premade food. He didn't even let me finish that whole sentence before saying in a very rude tone "well we don't let outside food in and we definitely don't sell donuts" and proceeded to walk away with an eye roll. I was in shock. I totally understand that rule but I needed a second to sit down before I continued shopping. I should have gotten my son the donut afterwards instead but I knew he would be complaining the whole time and he was hungry. I actually ended up crying in my car (definitely pregnancy hormones) I just have never experienced someone being so rude about something so small that could have been handled totally differently. If he said "unfortunately we don't allow outside food but you are more than welcome to shop around afterwards i'm sorry" I wouldn't be writing this review right now. Please be gentle and kind with your customers especially an overstimulated, pregnant mother who thought she could sit down and be in a safe place for a second.
