After the initial COVID shutdown (and on the even rarer occasions that I was required to go to the office to help pack it up before we moved), this was the only place other than San Francisco and Daly City I got gas. If you don't have to buy gas in San Francisco, you shouldn't. Yes, there are ripoff stations in other Bay Area cities as well, especially right off the 101 down the Peninsula and into the South Bay, but there are also places that have cheaper gas. This was one of those stations. I really only came here during evening rush hour, so I don't know how dangerous it looked or felt in the middle of the night, but I'm assuming it wasn't the safest place to hang out. The convenience store had the greatest gum selection I have ever seen in my life, outside of a supermarket or big-box store. I only bought a couple of things from the store, including a banana that was perfectly ripe. (Bananas must really have sold well here, because they always seemed to have one ore two baskets' full on hand, and they never looked overripe.) Even when I do have to go to the office these days, it's so far south and east in Berkeley that this station would really be out of the way to get to. Still, I'm a little bit sad to see it go.

That is something I appreciate coming here is there is usually someone to greet you and point you in the right place. There was one gentleman that made a comment on my taking pictures, but he didn't have a vest on or asked if he could help me find something. They have added new signage in their parking lots telling you to move all the way forward so can pass you as the parking lot is tight. Parking is an issue at times as it's a small lot. We've had to park on the street before near their garden center. Overall this is a solid hardware store with usually easy to spot employees, that are happy to help you.

That being said I'm a firm believer that when it comes to cars the most expensive thing you can do is be cheap with them. "Save money pay twice" I hear my aunts words echo in my head to this day. She embodied this ancient Japanese wisdom and you would never question what she had to say - her words were law to live by. As my tank nears "E" I happen to drive right past here. I don't hesitate to drive in and fill up. Its no time to bargain shop. I've run out of gas two times before - once in the middle of the desert and didn't want to risk it again. Save money pay twice. After I fill up I notice the horrible upcharge for using a credit card. Then I think back and realize that I'm at the station that charges .30 or .40 or .50 sometimes extra for non cash transactions. Too late. Who walks around with hundreds of dollars of cash these days? Unless your selling on the streets - nobody. I don't mind paying a little extra for the convenience of paying with credit - but this is just a bit too much.

We do get our propane gas from here from time to time. They also have a tire pumping station but I don't know if it's always working.
