Absolutely terrible place to do business. These guys are rude, and do not treat people well. Then when you show up on the day they tell you to pick up your stuff , they're not ready and they do not even call you to let you know. The owner thinks because he's a "small business" that should give him a pass for his rudeness and lack of contact. I've ran a small business and I never treat customers like this. The work is subpar, and if you ask them to do it right they get upset. There are much better shops in the area for the same price. I checked out a few places, got a few estimates, and chose Proper Motion. I worked with both Uriel (appointment scheduling), and Saul (drop-off and delivery). Both were responsive and professional. Saul had a technician walk me around and look at other jobs in progress. They had a Lexus, Porsche, Mercedes, and a Fast and Furious style car being worked on. All the work I saw looked top notch. Saul gave me the 411 on the process and I handed over my key. I had them powder-coat my wheels and install my new tires. I was told on Wednesday evening that my car would be ready by 1:30pm on Friday. They were running behind, but that was okay, since it gave me time to run a quick errand. I showed up at 2:00pm and my car was waiting for me. It looks great!! Exactly as I expected and I'm very tempted to have them powder-coat my brake calipers next. In the real-world no one is perfect, and these guys are pro's. Saul gave me his assurance that I would be satisfied with the finished product. These guys do a great job. They were definitely not reliable. Was in constant contact with the guy of when I would arrive and he said it was ok. When I came at the time I said I would arrive he was nowhere to be found. Had to wait 40 minutes before I can get in contact with someone and it was only because I went to the backside and so happened to catch one of the workers and called them over read more

Whoever handles their instagram needs to learn customer service. I responded to their ad for powder coating and offered a cash price (I do this with all shops and most are happy to take cash for a discount). As a negotiator, I always come a bit lower then what I would pay. The owner seemingly trying to be funny and mock my offer, said "sure! we love free money!" when I asked "Willing to take cash?" I then said I was not trying to insult his business, but was trying to get a deal and asked he counter-offer if anything. Instead he was rude and applied the "mad" emoji on my message. How old are you? Lol. He then sent the prices after I told him he was being quite rude for someone running a business, he sent with the message "There's your prices, brother" From what I see on their other reviews they don't do great work, would recommend going with someone else! read more

I run a small business and outsourced powdercoating is one of the steps in the products that I produce. Uriel provided a reasonable timing and cost quote ( 7 days to powdercoat some plaques, reasonable considering they advertise 1 day turnaround). I paid his asking price upfront, and finally received my parts in the mail after 23 days- with very sporadic and selective communication during the process. I understand that delays happen, but avoiding communication or providing extremely unprofessional replies is not something that should be acceptable. Additionally, the plaques were powdercoated the wrong color- despite the invoice stating the intended color, as well as most of them being scratched or blemished. I'll need to strip them and redo them somewhere else now, or just throw them away and start over. I am now so far behind schedule that I won't be able to have my product at the event I'm sponsoring this weekend, and will lose over $3500 in lost sales. Lastly, after these issues were brought up, I was ghosted and simply never got any reply. Uriel simply chose to ignore my refund request, and now I'm out the amount paid for the service, the amount I'll pay to redo the work, AND the lost sales of $3500. For your mental health, please do yourself a favor and avoid this company. I'm actually impressed and astounded with the amount of unprofessionalism and frustration caused by Proper Motion. Edit: I hope everyone can recognize by the tone of replies how committed they are to customer service. Rather than help solve the problem, it turns into a "he said she said" situation? This shop powder coated my rims 2 years ago and I have since scraped them up. This time around he is retouching them. Uriel is reliable, has a great turn around time, rims looks AMAZING, and the best part is that he will take the rims off at his shop. Most shops require you to remove the wheels for a cost, or remove them on your own. However, Uriel will take the vehicle and do it himself. As a female, this makes it convenient. If I could give (0) stars I would. Dropped off my $2000.00 Rotiform BLQs to be powder coated white on a Thursday Night. Guy said they would be ready next day. Next day he says "Ready at 6" I show up at 6:30 and see my car is missing the Center Caps and the rims were dirty af i mean yeah theyre white now, but like not even a wipe down to have them ready for the customer (me). He proceeds to give me excuses for why he didn't have time to powder coat them white. Said I could come back Monday for them. I take the car home and inspect my wheels with a flash light only to find the orange peel and chipping in the powder coats. And it was multiple wheels, not just one. I tell him about the problems via Instagram and long story short I just didn't want to do business with him anymore after finding chippings and orange peels. It tells me as the shop manager or owner whatever he is. He didn't even bother to check my wheel before they went back on the car, and yet proceeded to tell me "Ready at 6". Proper Motion Has NO QUALITY CONTROL STANDARDS. AND THATS WHY I CHOOSE TO TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE INSTEAD OF LET THEM (TRY) TO FIX THE PROBLESM. read more

Really hate leaving a bad review but Proper Motion has really upset me. We had scheduled my appointment to strip my wheels 5 days in advance for "Monday at 7am". We went back and forth and I provided them my contact info. They had more than enough time to realize they scheduled me for New Year's Day. In hind sight I should've confirmed they realized that it was a holiday but it's not my job to manage another companies hours of operation. I had changed my New Year's desert plans and drove my truck from Temecula to Anaheim, and it was all for nothing. I called so many times, message, and called on Instagram, and rang their ring doorbell and got nothing. What is most frustrating is that I value time and a lot was wasted that I'll never get back. read more

This place absolutely sucks. I read the reviews and figured it was worth going to since they offered a deal to powder coat my 4 wheels for around $30 less than other shops near me. Huge mistake. I dropped the wheels off and the Uriel, the owner, told me they'd be ready in about 3-4 days. Fast forward over 2 weeks and they were finally "ready" after me constantly calling them and making sure they weren't just pushing it off. I make the 30 minute drive there just for the guy to tell me the wheels are ready but I'll have to come back later because they didn't finish my caps. So now I'm out over an hour of my time and have to still go back. When I got home I also noticed that my valve stems were missing so I had to worry about that too. They told me the caps would be done the next day. I am not exaggerating when I say that it took just over 3 WEEKS from that day for me to finally get my caps back. Even worse, during that time, one of the days I called them, they said it was ready and I drove there just for them to tell me it wasn't ready. How does this even happen? At this point Uriel stopped answering my texts and calls even though I stayed polite the whole time. What kind of business owner does this? The guy there Saul was a little more helpful. However, by the time the caps were finally done, they looked horrible. Two of them were partially melted because they messed up and all they told me was that if I brought them new ones they'd paint them for free. So you're telling me I have to go buy new caps and waste more time bringing them back to you just for you to take another month painting them? Hell no. I wish I just paid $30 more at another shop. You'd think these guys wouldn't pull stuff like this since I walked in there and there were 20 other wheels that they were coating from other customers. On top of that, Uriel hung up the phone on me once while I was trying to ask about the status of my wheels and then completely stopped responding to my texts. Extremely rude. To top everything off, the powder coating job sucked. These guys didn't even properly sand the wheels down. It looks like they just coated over them. I've repainted horribly curbed wheels in my garage and you can't even tell they were curbed because I took 20 minutes of my time to sand them. Pics of everything are included. The wheels came out great. The only issue I experienced was that my car wasn't ready on time but Uriel promptly conveyed that they were having some machinery issues, which is understandable. I left my BMW 330ci calipers there with them and was quoted over $300 to have them powder coated yellow. I brought them fully disassembled and sand blasted, ready to be powder coated so I was going to walk out until we agreed on a price of $240. Which I still think is high. I asked for a color palette, figuring they had one since they Powdercoat and paint things... yet I waited around for them to scrounge through all their stuff only to tell me they didn't have one. When I went to pick them up after they told me they were ready, I rushed over there after work and got there and no one answered even when I walked in for 5 minutes. I was waiting like a clown, turns out I was waiting because they had to wrap them up and put them in a box. I should've checked my products before leaving because they forgot to put one of my brake caliper bleeder nipples back on and they missed a couple spots on the caliper when powder coating. I messaged them about them losing my bleeder and they left me on read. Overpriced, unprofessional, and not honest. Thanks buddy. read more
