The omelet station was great and the staff so accommodating. My favorite was the Belgium waffle, yummy. The service wait staff kept the coffee flowing at an additional fee, good coffee noted. The mimosa was weak, bartender not sympathetic when mentioned at nine dollars. To sum it up, for the price, pleasant and roomy atmosphere to enjoy lingering on a Sunday, and efficient staff, yes I give this a positive rating. We went here a few times but not much. The first time we went was for the brunch which wasn't bad. It had the usual variety of breakfast items, French toast, pancakes, omelette bar, usual breakfast meats and so much more. In other words, it was all the same stuff you usually get at every breakfast buffet. Then one day we went for dinner and it was basically all the usual steakhouse type items. You had sandwiches, steak, prime rib, chicken etc. But again, the food really wasn't anything special. There are steakhouses that give more flavor and better cooked meals than here. Same goes for the sides, they were all mediocre at best. They all felt like they could be much better because there were flavors missing and the quality of the food just wasn't as good as many other places we've been to. Stopped in a weekday night. Was greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the salad bar and grouper finger appetizer. Everything on the salad bar was fresh. The area was very clean. A really nice selection. I didn't go back up a second time since I wasn't too hungry but there were items I didn't get to try. There were a lot of salad dressing choices but didn't see balsamic or oil and vinegar but may have missed it. The grouper fingers were really good. Fish was cooked perfectly. This amuses me ... Ive been going to Prospector's for years on end for dinners and girl's brunches. I never realized that live entertainment was held here on the Saloon side, which I never noticed?!! It's a huge space with a stage for entertainment and (line, mainly) dancing. The band, BULLZEYE, played on November 2nd, and they were phenomenal! And other than Johnny Cash and a few other singers/bands, country music isn't my thing. So, that's saying a lot! We had dinner after talking with the lead singer, Tommy. My Sir is friends with him. What a nice guy with a great voice! And wow can he play the guitar too! All of our four meal meals (chicken fingers, personal pepperoni pizza, steak Caesar salad and fried mac and cheese) were big portions and so damned good! It was my son's actual birthday, so we ordered him a nice slice of cheesecake (with a candle!)It was really good! Our bartender, Teresa, was a doll - a young woman with a quick sense of humor and great disposition! We tipped her nicely . 100% no frills or bs here just solid food. One of the best side salads I ever had with a meal, for one thing it is huge, and also topped with bacon and fried onion straws. Cooked my steak EXACTLY how I asked for it. I have to give a shout out to the French fries here, they were like a mix of those fries with the extra crispy crumbles on the outside and a steak fry..fantastic. I have always loved coming here but I have to say my service here was subpar tonight. Our server Marion S. Was not very friendly during our visit. She forgot our straws and we had to get them. She made us feel unwelcome and seemed like she was in a hurry to get us out of there as fast as she could. She did not even show us a desert menu or ask us about dessert options. The food was great. I had the chicken fajitas and they were full of zesty flavors that filled my tastebuds with excitement. The presentation could be better however all of that aside my meal was great. My mothers steak that she ordered was not served hot and was cold by the time it arrived to the table. The steak also did not seem to be 16oz as advertised and the waitress told us due to it being cooked well done that it had "shrunk", however I believe if it should be as advertised. My girlfriend Angie's meal she said was good. We were disappointed that the salad bar doesn't come with the meal anymore like it used to and now there is a $4 charge. The atmosphere of the place is a really cool western vibe with some interesting designs and it was a cute and cozy place to take a date. We were a party of 3 children and 4 adults. A gentleman at the bar was using the "F" word very loudly. I had to finally ask him to stop. He did not.We were moved by the hostess to the dining room. Never once did the manager come over to speak to us after we were Informed by the hostess he would. Very disappointed. It is not necessary to use that kind of language in public so loudly. They are generous with the portions of fish. Steaks are usually good, especially ribeye. Sandwiches are just average bar food. Burgers are just meh. Ribs are decent. Pasta is meh. Sooo, overall, it averages out to be about 3 stars. Service is great. If you want a 5 star experience : Get the steaks, medium. Get the fish. Always add salad bar option. My bartender, Theresa was high energy and super friendly. I ordered the Fried Macaroni & cheese and Bang Bang Shrimp. The fried Mac & cheese is a large portion but, you only get 5 Bang Bang shrimp (although they were not small). Both were delicious.. Food here is completely revolting and inedible. Lived in NJ for a while now and this is by far the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. The fries were completely rancid with an extremely off putting taste which I immediately spat out and felt nauseous for the rest of the night. The pulled pork sandwich was extremely dry and tasted as if it came out of the microwave. The steak quesadillas were salty beyond belief and had a slimy texture. We immediately left after barely touching our food. Our night was ruined. The Waiter was a really nice guy and remembered our orders correct. I got the tacos , shrimp and mango was so good! Great slaw , the shrimp was cooked perfectly. This was not my first time at Prospector's but it was my first time since 2019. We used to come often, specifically for the salad bar, and I've been dying to make it back. I'm glad I finally got it out of my system. We went on a Wednesday night which is Line Dancing Lessons night which I think drew a big crowd. I'm not into line dancing but I do think it's neat to have a bar in the area that hosts different line and country dance nights. The parking lot was packed but the dining areas weren't as busy as the parking lot looked. We were seated in the corral, which was a well lit room with booths around the perimeter and regular tables with chairs in the middle. I liked the train running on the tracks that hung from the ceiling but they could've added a few more cars to it. I mainly just wanted the salad bar. The pricing wasn't on the menu but our server explained it to us. I thought the price was a little high for the salad bar itself. We decided to add one of the house made soups to it for just another $2. We both chose the beef barley which was good but didn't compare to my grandmother's recipe. The complementary dinner rolls were warm and soft, and the butter, wow!!! I liked the amount of options the salad bar had to offer and I did enjoy my salads. I thought Prospector's could've did a better job with changing out some of the toppings though as some of the offerings were near empty or had brown or wilted pieces mixed in some of the containers. We also ordered an appetizer sampler, which was average at best, and came with onion rings, fried mozzarella, and chicken tenders. We ate a little but ended up taking the majority of it home. I thought the cocktail prices were on the high side for the venue so we stuck with wine and draft beer. I'm not sure if my expectations were too high going into our visit, but I thought the experience was just so-so. I have been on this kick to find restaurants with salad bars because it's just not really a thing anymore and I love a good salad bar. So that is what brought me there. The salad bar is top tier, everything was fresh, cold salad plates added a nice little touch. The salad toppings were great and fresh - diced ham, shredded carrots, tiny chopped red onions, hard boiled eggs, shredded cheese, cucumbers, etc. then they had some coleslaw (it was meh), potato salad (average) and some other semi decent pasta salads. They also had fresh fruit. The fixing at the end / croutons, bacons and nuts were good. Dressings good as well. The salad bar experience was 5 stars. The rest of the food was just meh - ordered filet mignon (med rare) and it was tough and just tasted weird, mashed potatoes were below mid, and the gravy for the mashed thankfully they put it on the side because it was really bad. Crab cake app was not good, southwest egg roll app was really good. I'm being very generous with 4 stars and it's just because of the salad bar experience. Got here later at night (a few minutes before 9), please note the hours are not posted anywhere -- see posted picture. Was sat by host. The waiter saw us being sat in his section, and there was a look of displeasure. When he came over, I apologized for coming in later. He said nothing about when exactly they closed other than he was a closing server. I asked about the produce bar with an entree and he said it was additional $4. Ok, no problem. I ordered an entree with the produce bar with the intent of eating more salad as there aren't the most healthiest entrees on the menu (I knew that going in so my justification was to eat half the entree). I ate the salad from the produce bar and went back up for seconds (made the first one modest) to find they were taking everything away. When I asked the gentlemen who was cleaning up the produce bar, he said it was done at 9. When I asked my server (Dan), he said yea it's done at 9. I asked him why he didn't tell me that when ordering, and he had no answer. He got the manager. She was condescending. Her reply was that she would take the produce bar off the menu. I told her the whole reason I came here tonight instead of going to another restaurant up the road was mainly for the produce bar. She said that I could have just gotten that for $16.99. So Ms Manager -- you're saying I could have gotten one go-around to the produce bar for $17 and that is ok in Prospectors' eyes to mislead patrons? Why are your hours not posted? Why did the host nor the waiter say "hey, we are not rushing you in the least bit, but the kitchen and produce bar will be closing in the next xx minutes just so that you're aware." She didn't want to listen to what I was saying. Seriously if you're reading this -- find a new job. And Dan, the server -- work on your facial expressions or don't have a job that closes so late if that displeases you. With the customer service in that place, I'm surprised they have been open for as long as they have. Last time I'll go there. We had reservations set for 5:30pm and were seated right away and attended to by our waiter, Bob. He gave us our waters and we put in our appetizer & drinks. 10 min went by and the Santa Fe Egg Rolls came out with no dipping sauce & cold which was a let down. They did taste good though. As the appetizer was being dropped off we put in our entree orders and within 10 min my burger & wings were at the table which was really odd. 20-30 min went by and my girlfriend's Crispy Chicken Sliders were still not at the table as well with the drinks. Eventually the manager, RAMI, strolled by the table and asked if everything was okay. We continued to ask where our drinks, 2 more waters & the chicken sliders were at. Bob came back and apologized and went to find our orders. This manager RAMI came back with a $20 coupon which we couldn't use until the next time we came and expired in 10 days... we felt more INSULTED by his actions and the way he presented himself. We ended up giving the $20 coupon to the table across from us because we knew we weren't ever coming back. Bob came back and said the kitchen missed her order and 15 min later the chicken sliders came out. We're not sure how the orders are relayed to the kitchen but something went wrong along the way. We had a fun time and admission was reasonable, but be warned there are a ton of dancing regulars who were much more serious than first-timers looking for a casual experience. There were 12 people in our party. The portions are plentiful-we had leftovers. For my main meal, I enjoyed crab cakes with garlic mashed potatoes. Others had the chicken fingers platter, cheeseburger, T-bone steak, sliders, etc. When the main meals were served there wasn't much talking going on. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. We managed to leave room for the warm chocolate chip cookie and ice cream dessert. The service was good Our waiter kept our glasses whole and was attentive. I am not sure how this place is till open and I am not sure which was worse the food or the service. We went yesterday for a late lunch at 2pm. Our server was dreadful to say the least. We ordered our food and the salad bar. You now have to pay extra for the salad bar which would be ok if were worth it but the food was NOT FRESH. Everything looked old and dried out. I guess not many people get the salad bar now because you have to pay for it even when if you order a meal. Other places with a salad bar include it with your meal. The choices were sad and unappealing. I guess that is why our server tried to steer us away from ordering it. The meatloaf was served cold, mushy and did not taste fresh. It was gross. My wife's food was dry and overcooked. No one in our party seemed to enjoy their meal. We won't be back. YUCK! read more

We had a great family meal (with 3 families) on a busy Saturday night. The food and service couldn't be better for our crew of picky teenagers and demanding beer drinking dads. The menu had a lot of options and while the kids mostly ate burgers and wings, us fathers ventured deeper into the menu and we were not disappointed. I would give this place a 3.5 if I could and if you read my review to the end you'll see why. Our appetizers were really good. Mozzarella sticks and bang bang shrimp. The side salad was very generous in size. Unless you're making a meal of the salad bar, skip asking about it, trust me you'll be happy with what they bring out. The dinner is where it was a crash and burn. My son had a burger he said it was good. Myself and my daughter ordered the prime rib. This was the worst steak I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly. But it was just wrong. I don't know how to describe it but it was just like really bad. Like it was a cheap meat or bad or I don't know but I definitely don't recommend it. My husband ordered the au poviore. Nothing au poviore about it and same terrible meat. I do want to make mention of my waiter. I can't remember who my waiter was but he was tall and it was a Friday night. This man belongs in a high end restaurant. He knew every table side etiquette there is and practiced it. He was beyond perfect and we tipped him generously for it. He pardoned his reach, when I said the clam chowder wasn't a home run for my daughter he brought her a take home bag with chili. He was exceptional and what earned 2 of my 3.5 stars. Also want to note that they do have 2 other parts of this place that I did not explore, the bar and the line dancing so I can't speak on that but I did see quite a few people going in so maybe it's great for drinks, apps and dancing.
