This amuses me ... Ive been going to Prospector's for years on end for dinners and girl's brunches. I never realized that live entertainment was held here on the Saloon side, which I never noticed?!! It's a huge space with a stage for entertainment and (line, mainly) dancing. The band, BULLZEYE, played on November 2nd, and they were phenomenal! And other than Johnny Cash and a few other singers/bands, country music isn't my thing. So, that's saying a lot! We had dinner after talking with the lead singer, Tommy. My Sir is friends with him. What a nice guy with a great voice! And wow can he play the guitar too! All of our four meal meals (chicken fingers, personal pepperoni pizza, steak Caesar salad and fried mac and cheese) were big portions and so damned good! It was my son's actual birthday, so we ordered him a nice slice of cheesecake (with a candle!)It was really good! Our bartender, Teresa, was a doll - a young woman with a quick sense of humor and great disposition! We tipped her nicely . Although Halloween was over, the decorations were still up and looked awesome! We stayed until closing and plan on returning as always around Christmas.

Steaks, chicken, appetizers, salad bar, line dancing...what more could you want? Lots of comfort food favorites. Good selection of adult beverages, and good service! Inside and outside seating, bar area, lots of fun.

100% no frills or bs here just solid food. One of the best side salads I ever had with a meal, for one thing it is huge, and also topped with bacon and fried onion straws. Cooked my steak EXACTLY how I asked for it. I have to give a shout out to the French fries here, they were like a mix of those fries with the extra crispy crumbles on the outside and a steak fry..fantastic. Did not try the salad bar but it's worth mentioning because you dont see it often and who doesnt love a salad bar! Service was PROMPT and polite.

After a few more visits I'm raising the rating again. Tacos were a nice surprise, got the combo with grouper, brisket and steak along with an extra of Korean bbq wings which were very good. Claim jumper crab cakes and fries were good and the Cobb salad was much better than previously.

Just from the sign out front and the shape of the building I knew this place was going to be an experience. Walking in was a blast from the past, straight from the 90's. Vibes are immaculate. This is the first time I've been here and I'm obsessed. I enjoyed the salad bar, haven't seen one of those in a long time. $8 for the salad bar was more than I was expecting but I really liked all the options and making the salad myself. All the food was good. Will 100% come back.

I have always loved coming here but I have to say my service here was subpar tonight. Our server Marion S. Was not very friendly during our visit. She forgot our straws and we had to get them. She made us feel unwelcome and seemed like she was in a hurry to get us out of there as fast as she could. She did not even show us a desert menu or ask us about dessert options. The food was great. I had the chicken fajitas and they were full of zesty flavors that filled my tastebuds with excitement. The presentation could be better however all of that aside my meal was great. My mothers steak that she ordered was not served hot and was cold by the time it arrived to the table. The steak also did not seem to be 16oz as advertised and the waitress told us due to it being cooked well done that it had "shrunk", however I believe if it should be as advertised. My girlfriend Angie's meal she said was good. We were disappointed that the salad bar doesn't come with the meal anymore like it used to and now there is a $4 charge. The atmosphere of the place is a really cool western vibe with some interesting designs and it was a cute and cozy place to take a date. They have outdoor seating and a huge indoor section with a bar. I would say that it is worth checking out but the service needs improvement.

The salad bar is wonderful. The steak was a little thin and tough although it was cooked medium rare as instructed. Service was very good.

Everything was chopped evenly and broiled to perfection. I did get a decent amount of clam. The description says bacon but I'm glad it wasn't big pieces of crispy bacon. It almost seemed like pancetta. I wish I took a picture. They are a little greasy so I'm not sure why they serve them with a side of butter. I think that's a waste. I ordered the Reuben for my entree and upgraded from chips to potato salad. This was an amazing choice. One of the best Reubens I've had in awhile. I was nervous at first seeing the thick bread but it all came together. It wasn't greasy at all. The corned beef was crispy which made it easier to bite. Who hates trying to bite through tough corned beef???? The amount of sauerkraut was perfect. One half of my sandwich had the perfect amount of dressing. The other half was dry. I usually ask for a side of dressing but didn't this time. I am so glad I upgraded to potato salad. It's only $1 extra and I highly recommend. This reminded me of my family recipe. This sandwich comes with chips and I'm not sure what that means. I'm not a huge potato chip person.

We entered through the wall of the restaurant and walked right into the cute bar area of the lounge (3 bar seats). The energy was buzzing and there were others laughing and talking so we slipped right into a table and go comfy. Kayla greeted us minutes after we settled in and brought over menus and water. She let us take our time deciding on cocktails and we were glad she did because the menu is extensive. 2 pages of specialty cocktails and countless pages of over 200 different whiskeys! I decided on a gin based cocktail called a BIJOU and the man decided on an Old Fashioned. Kayla wanted to ensure we thoroughly enjoyed our drinks so she shared that we were able to change the type of whiskey and gin if we wanted. Both cocktails were DELICIOUS and absolutely "spirited"! Kayla is such an amazing mixologist and she was also the only employee in the lounge so she was mixing drinks, seating people, answering questions and doing so seamlessly and with a smile. We will definitely be back and will be sure to bring friends anytime they're in town because this place is such a gem.

But the service that is amazing and all the smiling staff here make up for anything that I don't see on the menu. The place is really well put together and is a very handsome bar it's mostly very wooden and heavy duty. The ambience is something for everyone on the TV or you can just chitchat. They even have this little side room that is nice but beware and bring a coat or a sweater cause it does get chilly in there. They're always seems like a really great group of people there and our favorite waitress is KB/Kristen. She is truly amazing and very attentive, but not annoying. We love their chicken fajitas and steak fajitas, the Cheesesteaks are delish! But My Newest Favorite for the Moment..... is the "We Jammin Burger". It has bacon onion Jam on it and it is amazing! I didn't think that I would like it as Much as I do! But I Realllllllly Do! I'm not really a burger fan... like my husband Is, But THIS BURGER..... has been a Game changer for Me. Warning: Make room in your fridge... because You will definitely bring leftovers home. This meal can feed a family of 4 Easily!! Their Cajun quesadilla is delicious and it does have a nice little zing. Their traditional wings are amazing and their beef stew is delicious and very hearty. We have tried many of their specialties. The Hail Mary is a delicious Caesar salad on top of chicken cutlets and their Broccoli Chicken Cheesesteak is amazing. I recommend you get it pressed on the grill and that way it won't fall out as you bite each delicious bite. I would say 80 to 90% of the visits that we have had at this amazing establishment. We always bring home leftovers. So be aware that you were going to have lunch for tomorrow. You will get to the point where you will just think of something to eat that they have on their menu and your mouth will just start to drool. We definitely recommend going. I'm not a huge drinker so I really can't say much as for their drinks but everyone there seems very happy and the portions are huge. I definitely say try it, what's the worst that happens you have leftovers for the next day or two lol It is my husband and my favorite new place that's been around forever Hey, maybe we'll see you there

The portion sizes were generous; both my burger and the Cheesesteak Deluxe were large enough that we brought leftovers home from both entrées. Cons: Unfortunately, the drinks were not good. I ordered a Downeast Cider on tap and it tasted like the line may not have been cleaned recently. My companion ordered a cosmopolitan that was essentially undrinkable--extremely strong and not well balanced. We later learned the bartender is new, so hopefully that improves with experience. The wings were also served cold, and the Jammin' burger came out without the bacon jam that's supposed to be a key part of the dish. The restaurant itself is also very tight quarters. If you prefer more personal space or feel more comfortable in places where it's easy to move around or exit quickly, this may not be the best spot for you. Overall: The staff was very attentive and clearly tried to make things right after several mistakes occurred. They comped our soda, appetizer, and dessert, which we appreciated. However, given the number of issues during one visit, I'm not sure we'd return.

We chose the bar where Chris was mixing drinks with his long mixer. The beer selection is top notch - all local brews, many highly rated, a wide selection. The food was spectacular - fresh and tasty. All made from scratch by chef David from local ingredients. This place really is "The Local" with it's selection of locally sourced food and drinks. The caesar salad is always a point of comparison for a good restaurant. Ours rated very highly - fresh, crisp, well made and zesty. The fish tacos were excellent, some of the best I've ever had - loaded, spicy, fresh, with lots of well balanced flavors. Turns out there is another room behind the wall - a Speakeasy. We were very tempted but unfortunately had to miss it so that we could get up early and resume our road trip. But it too was very much "The Local" - a curated list of 300 American Whiskeys, including the local distilleries.

Nothing ruins a place for me faster than getting an attitude from an employee. I will say that the woman who was bartending was very friendly and polite, but the initial interaction was off putting. We ordered desserts. I love banana bread pudding, but the one on the menu had raisins. Just a quick note to anyone out there who is listening: nobody likes raisins. They're tolerable on oatmeal cookies, but that's about it. I decided to order their chocolate mousse cake with pecans instead. Hard to tell exactly when it opened, as their website offers scant information, but they first started posting on Facebook in 2011 if that is anything to go by. They don't have a large footprint in the NJ brewing scene as they don't distribute to any liquor stores or bars/restaurants (they don't even offer beers in cans to go), and they don't do any big events other than the typical karaoke or trivia nights. What they do offer is a nice place to hang out in an old historic building right on the Main Street in the downtown area, and a solid lineup of beers. One thing that makes them stand out is a great selection of beers on nitro. From my experience with NJ breweries, you're lucky to find a single beer on nitro. At Village Idiot there are seven of them, most of them dessert stouts like a cookie butter white stout and a salted caramel milk stout. All that we tried were delicious and not crazy high in ABV like other dessert stouts. Flights are only $10 which is pretty cheap compared to other NJ breweries. Of note is that as of November 2025 they no longer allow outside drinks including water bottles like Nalgenes and Stanley Cups. Too many idiots sneaking in alcohol, according to their social media. Overall it has a bit more of a dive bar vibe only frequented by locals rather than a traditional NJ brewery, but the beer is definitely good enough, and the surrounding Main Street charming and quaint enough that I would definitely return.
