They're Rated 5 Stars and It Shows! I called Prosper Air after being quoted a ridiculous price from Airtron. I called them around 7:30pn Friday and left a message. Within 15 minutes I received a call back from Justin. My downstairs AC unit wasn't properly cooling and needed a recharge of freon. Tabitha offered a weekend appointment but I opted for Monday since the upstairs unit was able to compensate for the downstairs unit. Justin came out and quickly found that there was a leak and the unit needed a recharge. My wife was at home when he came so he called me at work to explain what he found and went over the cost. The cost was one third of Airtron's quote.I can tell you that there was no oversell and no fear tactics. I wish I would have called Prosper Air before calling Airtron. Their prices are fair and their service and professionalism is top notch. Thanks Justin and Tabitha...I will be telling everyone about my experience. read more

One of our A/C units went out on Labor Day weekend. Of several companies we called they were the first to respond. They came and diagnosed the problem very quickly and were happy to explain how everything worked. Got a second opinion just to be sure and Prosper Air was much more cost effective. They installed a new condenser and everything was working in less than a week (time was mostly on me). Great to work with and very professional and nice. Didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need and were very honest people. No need to use anyone else when it comes to AC work. read more

I got negative review for Justin 1. based on Yelp review, I called Justin on 7/29/2012 for my rental property. 2. Justin answer the phone and said WILL call me before provide the service 3. He arrive on time and provide the service. However, he call me AFTER the service completed. It is $380 to clean 2 coils and replace 2 capacitor. There is no choice and I relay his service fee to owner(I am property manager) 4. There are some negotiation between owner and Justine. Owner think the price is too expenise and did not get notice before his service. Justin compalined it is Sunday and it includes emergency service charge. The final price down to $320. 4. The owner asking for invoice 3 times(ask him to send per email or fax). He is asking owner for money without provide invoice first. Justin send me text message complained about owner. Owner also very frustrated about his attitude. Conclusion: I do not know if Justin is too busy and ignore these minor issues. 1. The commnuincation seems very difficult with him. 2. No courtesy call to get price approval first. 3. No invoice for the owner who need it to prepared tax return. I will not recommend his service to any of my rental properties in the future. read more

I had installed/messed-up my upstairs A/C by installing a thermostat without turning off the power. Did I mention it was Labor Day weekend? I called Prosper Air. Justin and Tabitha are excellent! I would recommend folks to use them. They are professional, high quality work, knowledgeable and I cannot stress this more...HONEST.. I had Frymire Associates, which is highly rated on Angie's list look at my system late last year.... told me that my 7 year old Trane was done and I needed to spend $3k with them. Which I did not buy. This year I asked Justin and Tabitha to perform my "summer tune up" , which the cost was $125..very fair. My Trane ACs (I have two units) are both fine and performing well. So you cannot go wrong with Justin and Tabitha.... call them you will not regret it! read more

We had to have our ac replaced in the heat of summer last year! Justin the owner came out and assessed the situation and had it totally replaced with a new one in a timely manner! My daughter was young and didn't like heat, so I was very pleased with how fast he and his crew accomplished the job! I use prosper air for all my maintenance and if it ever goes out again, I will definitely call them again! June 2014 NEW AC: My rental unit (1700 sq feet) AC was not cooling 6/4/2014 called Prosper Air based on their all 5* reviews here, they put 8 lb of R-22 at $50/lb in the 13 seer AC unit. charged me $525/-. Four days after 6/8/2014 it stopped cooling again. Then called them again, PA said that the indoor coil is leaking it will be $1500 to fix including labor and parts, instead I asked them to replace the whole system with 10 year complete warranty. At that time I was in California on a 2 wk vacation with family. June 9th 2014 is when they replaced it with a new American Standard unit with 10 year warranty. Paid close to $5000. New AC Problem 1 (February 2015): The same winter electric bill spikes to like crazy $1000 per month for couple of months, AC was continuously running but not cooling, when I called them (after tenant informed me) they came and said unit has manufacturing defect, wires were cross connected hence both Cooling and Heating unit were running simultaneously. They fixed the problem and gave some credit for the first month loss but said would not pay any part of second month loss. New AC Problem 2 (Sep 19 2016): The AC does not cool again and PA technician said that one of the valves was lose and they tightened that and refilled with Freon. New AC Problem 3 (Oct 19 2016): One month after the AC does not cool again and this time they come and the technician says the indoor coil has a leak and most likely has been there all along but American Standard only pays for 1 year labor. But after the technician leaves I call the company they are now saying that because the filter was dirty which they noticed Sep 2016, that is why the coil is leaking. I check with a HVAC friend who lives in OK and he laughs that it's highly unlikely a dirty filter can cause a metal coil to leak. Now these guys are asking me for labor cost of $500 to fix and suggested I should have taken the yearly service they have to prevent such problems (caused by dirty filter). The tenant says he actually changes them every three months. He sent me the current filter picture which looks a little dirty which he says he put about 3 weeks back. PA says they have picture of dirty filter since last time and going to email it to me but they have not sent me the picture yet. Not sure how this company gets 5* from so many customers!!! Update 10/19/2016 6 PM CT: They told me on phone that the technician saw the filter looked like 6 months old, in the email they are saying that the tenant had changed the filter right before the technician went there. Also on the email now they are agreeing that the coil leak is manufacturing defect, on the phone they said that the dirty filter was the reason. They did not even put Freon while we sort this out, the temperature is 87 degree now on Oct 19 2016 at 6:30 PM. Update 10/20/2016: Now they are saying they won't do the warranty work. The reason they are giving is because I threatened them with court yesterday. I did that when they kept changing story this what I said "Or I can call another company that his friend recommends who does business in Frisco and if they say that the problem is not due to dirty filter then you leave me with no option but to go to BBB or even court!" This morning I had gotten an email from them saying that best they can do is do it for $500. I asked them to reduce the price to $300 from $500 for labor on the indoor call (part to be supplied by manufacturer through warranty) because it happened so close to labor warranty expiry. I even said ok I will pay $500 but they would not respond any more. Conclusion: Such a waste of time and money. Now I compare how many reviews some of the other HVAC companies with lot more employees have to PA (compare Bill Joplin has only 5 reviews) these guys have 38, looks like customers are just making beeline to review this company with 5*s. BTW I have no association with Bill Joplin nor I have used them yet, I came across their name when I called Colony AC company they recommended to try Joplin or Houk. Update 10/31/2016: I had Bill Joplin technician take a look at the system, it was turned off. They did a check of indoor coils and found no leak. Yes no leak. They said the frozen AC could be a symptom of dirty filter, since a new filter was already installed they just started the AC after checking Freon level (which was appropriate) and it's working fine now. This now makes me wonder if the report they made June 2016 that the coil was leaking is even true, did they even put 8 lb Freon they charged me for? I asked them to replace the AC while I was on vacation as they told me coil leaking. read more

Great service! This was a service call for the AC at my girlfriends house. Daniel communicated, arrived early and took care of everything. He was detailed, explained everything and didn't try to sell her anything she didn't need. The outside unit had been very noisy - I suspected it might need a new condenser fan. He went through his normal routine maintenance protocol, which included checking the inside unit in the attic (changing the filter and taping some air leaks) cleaning the outside unit (he noted it was very dirty) and checking everything. The unit had quieted down some already but was even better after the cleaning. Go figure. He checked the amp draw on the fan - no issues. He checked the freon level, thinking it would be a little low, but it took so little that there was no charge. That was a pleasant and awesome surprise. Overall, the routing maintenance and filter was all that was needed. We signed up for the full year package which includes a check of the gas heating unit in the fall. The unit is 13 years old, so that isn't a bad idea, and it is a better deal than two separate calls. Overall, very thorough, honest and reasonable! What more can you ask for? read more

Prosper Air did a good job on our air, and showed up when they said they would be there, however, once they left, my upstairs air wasn't working properly, so I called them back and left a voicemail. They were supposed to email me a quote for a coil, and they did not. Then I called them and left another voicemail to ask them to come back out to check my upstairs air, and never received a call back. read more

We previously used Prosper Air approximately two years ago when our AC unit stopped working. After having dealt with the company that held our warranty and being given the run around one year prior, I was determined to find a reputable company that was honest, trustworthy and fair. Prosper Air is that company! Two years ago Justin and Tabitha were able to remedy our issue quickly and for no more than the service charge. Fast forward to this June. We encountered issues (again) with our system not working. I knew exactly where to turn. I submitted a service request via Prosper Air's website at 11pm and we were on the schedule the next day. When Josh arrived to service our AC unit he was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain our issue (broken capacitor) and patiently answered our additional questions. Josh was able to remedy the issue (the part was conveniently already on his truck) and have us in working order in less than an hour. Similar to our previous experience, the price for the part and labor were incredibly fair. With so many issues (we've had our AC unit serviced for issues three times in six years) we even inquired about replacing it. Josh was honest and told us that he didn't see any reason to go to that extreme. He also prepared us for regulatory changes coming in 2020 that will likely cause us to have to replace the outside unit. We really appreciated the "heads up". Once again we are EXTREMELY satisfied with the service we received from Prosper Air. Although our hope is to not need their services again, if we do find ourselves in that situation, we won't hesitate to contact Prosper Air. read more

Justin is the only honest air conditioning guy I found. I live in California and own a rental property in Texas. I had called two separate AC techs (one from A#1, another a referral) prior to finding Prosper Air. The first two AC techs claimed they detected a leak in the evaporator coil (as in the previous year, I had used each of them to refill my freon). They claimed they used a leak sensor to do so. Both wanted somewhere between $2,000 to $3,000 to repair/replace the coils. I called Justin for a 3rd opinion. Justin found no leaks in the evaporator coil using his leak sensor, and found a leak in the Schrader valve which only cost me somewhere around $150 to fix. Since the fix, the tenants finally stopped complaining about the AC. Justin saved me thousands of dollars. In response to the other review, Justin didn't call me prior to fixing the AC after he diagnosed it. He just went ahead and fixed the problem without informing me. In my case, this wasn't an issue, however it makes sense to get informed prior to any work being done. Just make it clear in the phone call with Justin. read more
